Papercutting은 인류 사회에서 예술 형식중의 하나이며 오랜 역사를 통하여 풍부한 소재와 형식으로 광범위한 지역에서 사용 되어는 장르이다. 시대의 발전에 따라 papercutting도 급속도로 널리 퍼지고 있다. 현대사회에서 Papercutting은 단순한 장식예술품이 아니라 트렌트(trend)와 라이프스타일을 표현하는 생활예술을 기초로 하는 디자인이다. 이러한 점에서 본 연구는 시각적인 Papercutting의 표현 분석을 주로 하고 있다. 특히 전통과 현대의 중국 한국 일본을 비교해서 역사적 문화적 배경에 따라 Papercutting의 현대적 변용과 새롭게 떠오르는 효용을 어떻게 활용하고 있는지 분석하였다.

Unique and variety designs are required in the contemporary society as the design has predominant power. National character and identity of traditional culture support it, and it is far more important to reinterpret, succeed and develop unique traditional beauty as the contemporary continues globalization and informatization. Among the accessories of women in Joseon, hair accessories accounted for the majority, and hair style and hair accessories were developed by their status and social hierarchy. But, due to social norm, they were reserved for luxurious accessories and expressed their aesthetic desire with refined and simple accessories. The current period requires cultural identity. In this sense, this study is expected to give a new awareness of our unique identity, new concept of the traditional culture and spreading beauty of Korea by means of new conceptual accessories that can be connected with the preference of the contemporary with the creation of Korean style image.

Among the various decorative techniques in fashion design, this study is to study the decorative effect of the aesthetic finishing technique on fabric. Despite the recent expansion of the use of decorative techniques by aesthetic finishing of fabrics, most of the studies have focused on one or partial techniques, and there has been no part on the use of broad techniques or the application of overall design. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to collect the expression techniques of aesthetic finishing and its fashion cases that have been sporadically performed by examining the decorative techniques of fabric aesthetic finishing as a whole, and to provide practical data, help design thinking, and further contribute to the development of higher value-added products. To this end, this study was conducted in parallel with theoretical consideration and empirical research. First, through the analysis of decorative images and fashion cases examined based on theoretical considerations, six creative costumes were planned and produced by reorganizing them according to the flow of modern fashion using a design concept. As a result, it was confirmed that each aesthetic finishing technique is an effective decorative technique that is applied and harmonized to a part or all of the costume to create a new and unique surface effect and formative beauty, and to increase strong visual effects and luxury. Therefore, through this study, it is expected that it will help satisfy the aesthetic sense of consumers seeking high-end and individualization in the future. Therefore, in future research, it is necessary to expand and deal with the aesthetic finishing of fabrics in more depth, and it is expected that multifaceted research and development will continue.

This research aims to investigate evaluation framework of environmental formative works that are regulated by law in urban space, and to suggest the directions of improving the framework for better city environments. The concept of environmental formative works in urban space was identified and social situations and factors including visitors and the cognitive process of urban environments, were analyzed. This research suggests a new method based on the analysis of existing regulations and problems of environmental art or formative works. The public regulations and evaluation methods of the Korean major cities including Seoul, Daejeon, Busan and Gwangju, were examined on environmental formative works. The objective was to suggest an evaluation framework for creating human values of urban culture environment instead of focusing on the matters between the owner of the architecture and the artist of formative works. By identifying socio-cultural value of art decoration related regulations and improving the level of the public formative art evaluation scheme, this study helps addressing the administrative problems and constructing a conceptual framework of evaluation to improve urban culture environment for both human and environment.

The purpose of this study focusing on the gather decorations shown in the modern fashion was to review needlework techniques and design features of gather decorations and thereupon, analyze the aesthetic characteristics of gather decorations shown in designers' works to examine the gather decoration trend in today's fashion. First, the decorative features of gather decorations different from the conventional costumes are shirring, lace and trimming combined or shirring repeated. Second, in view of sensualism, the gather decorations seem to play a role of enhancing the exposure as a mode of expression, while the indirect exposure or beach is mixed with the materials to widen the range of gather decoration expressions. Third, in terms of history, the conventional decorative techniques are combined with new techniques and materials to create a fantastic and romantic mood different from the conventional costumes. Fourth, in view of rhythms, the wave line of the rim for gather decorations serves to express some vivid effects; on the human body, its monotonous plane repetition will turn into a new expression or a voluminous physical sense of motion. However, since expressions or meanings of the gather decorations are much diversified, they should not be regarded as simple decoration details. Our modern designers searching for new expression of creases use unique structural forms to explore the possibility of creative gather decorations. In all, since gather decorations seem to be significant as unique details conducive to a structural pragmatism and aesthetics, it is deemed necessary to continue to develop gather decorations.

This study aims to understand the unique housing culture and decoration style in traditional Thai houses. Literature review and site visit were applied for the research method. A steep gable roof, a lifted floor structure on the pillars, a semi-enclosed central flatform(charn) and a outdoor staircase are important plastic elements of exterior decoration in Thai traditional houses. 'Panlom(windbreak on gable)' and 'fa loog fak(wall panel)' are the most unique elements which determine Thai traditional style. In Thai traditional style decoration, the beautifully carved wooden panels and decorations are also the most important factors. The decorations can be analyzed in the aspect of following perspectives. ; The characteristics of Thai traditional house decorations have been developed and evolved as result of influences from regional climate and local material. And also the social-cultural factors such as religion, social and family relationship and life style controlled the forms and culture of traditional housing form and culture. As a result, this study summarises and defines the outstanding and unique meaning and definition of the decoration in Thai traditional houses focused on central region in Thailand.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data of dress design by researching three-dimensional decorative techniques representing flowers, a popular motif in dress design. This study analyzed 44 dresses that were presented in Valentino collection. The result of this study is as follows: First, the detailing expression method can show various patterns and colors through embroidery technique, sub-materials, and bonding techniques in embroidery, beads flower, and ribbon flowers. Second, the fabric flower technique expressed flower image in three-dimension in more various images than do either the ribbon or beads flower technique. Fabric flowers are mostly made from the same material as dresses. The expression technique of fabric flower is classified into the following three classifications: 1) A technique underlying a flower image with one, two and three large flowers, 2) a technique decorating a large area with a number of an identical motif, and 3) a technique highlighting a part of the body or design line by attracting eyes to one point, creating a corsage decorated where a designer wants to emphasize. Third, a silhouette technique realizes a flower image with a silhouette of a dress like sculpted structure and it is thus used less than a detailing expression technique. A flower image is expressed by making use of body lines or emphasizing the face. Finally, flower images on a dress were realized as a full blossomed flower, through visually streamlined shapes and curved lines.

This study is arranged the principles of the preservation and restoration in pre-modern architecture, presented guideline of the Intoner restoration in there, and attempted relative-analysis by cases of Japan in curtain of Saporo Houheikan. The method of Original- restorations and Repairs must be preserved In materials and technologies in order to hand over the future generations. The process and method of restorations are the important Cultural Properties as Architecture's itself. And Restorations of industrial manufactures hold the the important position in restoration of pre-modern Architectures. Because industrial technologies are developed and forgotten in rapid. Specially, because industrial materials as curtains were apt to recognize as consumption goods, historicity in that are contained the history of fabric, industrial technologies, and relations of traditional technologies. Conclusionaly, restorations of interior materials in our country are required of \circled1the construction of workframe in search and restoration for original preservation, \circled2the conception of refaires and establishment of investigation, \circled3the stocking of restoration-technologies of pre-modern cultural properties of architectures, \circled4the recognitions of record-preservation, \circled5the improvement of organization, upbring of technicians, establishment of theorical systems.

In the 19th century, a series of study by Hittorff, Semper, Ruskin, and others on architectural polychromy in various perspectives appeared. This presumed that the architectural polychromy could become an essential part of architectural composition and contribute to create new architectural style, if not, at least new architectural and cultural context of the 19th century, the period when it is considered that the stylistic evolution in architecture is absent. In the course of the stylistic development of church architecture of the 19th century in France, the architectural polychromy, grounded in a theory of representation, played a critical role as one of the main sources to create new architectural vision. The church architecture during the Second Empire in France was particularly susceptible to be influenced by this inevitable phenomenon, which signified an epistemological mutation in architectural perception beyond optical and perspective effect in the history of architecture. Here the study attempts to recognize the aesthetic value of the architectural polychromy in the 19th century, and investigate its application, as not just an aspect of architectural embellishment but an indispensable portion of architectural vocabulary, on the church architecture in France throughout the 19th century, then to define its role in creating new architectural environment.

The purpose of this study is to develop furniture design for the apartment based on the market research of furniture and interior design, and the survey on the design preference of hte apartment residents. The apartment furniture in living rooms, bed rooms and kitchens are designed according to the design concepts of preference image of apartment sizes: that of mid-size apartment(34pyung type) is Natural Modern image, large-size(59pyung type) is Korean Modern image, and extra large-size(81pyung type) is Classic Modern image. The living furniture is designed smaller in order to use the space flexibly, and the built-in furniture of bed rooms is designed simply like the wall of a room to be felt larger, basically. The furniture in kitchen is composed of the storage zone by high cabinets and the display zone by open shelves.
