Numerical Analysis on the Performance Evaluation of Cablebolts as Tunnel Supports (터널 지보재로서 케이블볼트의 성능평가에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • Cablebolts used to be employed as auxiliary supports where long or high capacity bolts are needed, but become competitive by the improvements in supportability and easiness in handling. Based on the test results obtained from various researches, the performance of the cablebolts was analyzed numerically while varying lengths and fixing conditions. The supporting effecte is assessed by monitoring displacements and stress taken place in shotcrete. When cablebolts are grouted without being tensioned, supporting effect was not as good as that of rockbolts. But, their supportability was good enough to substitute rockbolts if tensioned properly. Post grouting right after tensioning of the cablebolts shows reduction in supportability, but long term stability could be achieved without losing supportability if grouted when the bolt is far enough from the face. Further study is necessary including laboratory and in-situ tests under various conditions to use cablebolts as main support in tunnels.

  • The soil improvement method so far has been developed with an emphasis on enhancing the strength of the ground. A soil improvement method using a excellent cementitious stabilizer in economical efficiency and handling property is mainly used. The soil improvement method using cementitious stabilizer is effective but environmental and human harmful substances are detected and environmental problems such as carbon dioxide emission and groundwater pollution are pointed out. Therefore, as part of an alternative method capable of solving such problems, researches on the soil improvement method incorporating biological technology are being actively carried out. This study was conducted to investigate the characteristics of strength change when mixed with environmentally friendly soil binder and microorganism in clay, and it was analyzed by uniaxial compression test, direct shear test, SEM, XRD. As a results of the test, we confirmed the cementation caused by microbially induced calcite precipitation and the strength increase enhancement by it.

  • Structures that have constructed in soft clay might suffer from many issues related to consolidation settlement or lateral movement of soft-clay during long-term period. Therefore, it is important to establish proper design and construction processes related to site investigation, soil improvement, construction management, and so on. This case study focused on the construction of the rahmen structure supported by pile foundations. Especially, the structure in this case had been constructed without improving underlying soft clay and before constructing backfill embankment due to the limited construction time and the traffic connection of the old road crossing new highway. Therefore, in order to satisfy the structural stability, the construction processes and countermeasure methods were carefully planned based on the results of preliminary numerical analyses and monitoring of ground behaviors. Through the trial and error precess during the construction, the structures had been successfully constructed.

  • 국내의 상수원수 확보는 대부분을 표류수에 의존하고 있으나, 표류수의 경우 수질오염의 증가와 돌발 수질 오염 사고에 대한 대응 등의 취약점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 근본적으로 깨끗한 상수원수를 확보하기 다양한 방법이 모색되어지고 있다. 수량적으로 안정적이고, 수질적으로 안전한 상수원수 취득 방법으로 강변여과수, 지하댐, 인공함양기법 등이 실질적으로 계획되어 시행되어지고 있다. 특히 강변 충적층의 자연정화 기능을 이용한 강변여과수 개발은 지하수 개발과 달리 수량적으로 안정적이고, 수질적으로 안전한 강변여과수 개발 방안이 적극적으로 진행되고 있다. 낙동강 하류 지역인 함안군, 창원시, 김해시 등은 대부분 하천 표류수에 의존하였으나, 유역내 충적층 발달 지역이 분포해 있고, 하상경사, 하상계수 등의 하천공학적 측면에서 강변여과수 개발에 유리한 입지조건을 가지고 있어 강변여과수 개발이 진행되고 있다. 현재 창원시 대산면 일대에서 국내최초로 방사형집수정을 이용한 강변여과수 개발이 진행되고 있으며, 현재 방사형 취수정 1기가 시공 완료되어 시험 가동 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 창원시 대산면 일대에서 진행되고 있는 방사형 집수정 설치에 따른 양수시험을 실시하여 양수량에 따른 수위하강 겋항 등을 분석하여 적정 산출량을 결정하였고, 계획단계에서 적정 산출량 예상시 사용한 경험식(Petrovic, Milojevic 경험식)의 적합성 여부에 중점을 두어 진행 되었다. 연구대상 지역인 창원시 대산면 일대는 지하수위가 하천수위보다 높은 이득하천의 형태로 건기시 하천특성을 뚜렷하며, 양수실험을 위한 대용량 양수펌프 설치, 유량검증을 위한 대형 웨어 설치, 수위변화 측정을 위한 디지털 수위계 등을 설치하여 실험을 수행하였다. 단계/장기양수시험을 통하여 양수량-수위하강 경향을 분석하여 방사형 집수정 1기의 적정 양수량은 약 $16,000m^3/day$로 예상하였으며, 계획 시 사용한 경험식(Milojevic)으로 산정된 산출예상량과 유사한 특성을 나타내었다.

  • 삽교호는 금강 하류부에서 해수의 역류에 의한 염수 침입에 따른 염해방지와 유역에 필요한 담수를 확보하기 위하여 만들어졌다. 방조제는 조위 상승에 따른 해수의 침임을 방 할 뿐만 아니라 홍수 시에는 배수갑문의 인위적인 조작을 통해서 과다한 홍수량을 바다로 배제하여 상류유역의 홍수피해를 방지하고 있다. 방조제로 인하여 기존에 염해로 인하여 취수할 수 없던 하천구간에서의 취수가 가능하게 되었으며, 일정한 수위로 관리되도록 함으로써 상당량의 농업용수를 확보하게 되었으나, 댐과는 달리 허가를 위해 가용한 유량이 얼마인지 판단을 해본 적이 없다. 그것은 방조제의 방류량이 댐의 방류량과는 달라서 조석의 영향을 매우 크게 받기 때문에 단순한 물수지 분석 등으로 이를 모의하기가 힘들기 때문이다. 게다가 1일 2회의 조석이 발생하므로 1일단위의 물수지 분석은 어려운 현실이다. 방조제의 공급능력을 고려하지 않고 물수지 분석을 하게 되면, 취수하고 있는 용수는 추가적으로 확보되는 물을 사용하는 것이 아니라 자연하천에서의 물을 사용하는 것으로 분석된다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해서는 방조제가 공급 가능한 가용허가수량이 얼마인지 분석하고 이를 물수지 분석에 반영해 줄 수 있도록 해야 할것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 조위예측방법 및 수문조작 방법등 주요 모의 알고리즘을 이용하여 물수지 분석 모형을 개발하고 수자원장기종합계획의 일별자연유출량 자료에 대해 물수지 분석을 수행함으로써 삽교천방조제의 수리권 가용수량에 대해 추정하여 보았다. 적용 결과 삽교천방조제에 의해 기존의 갈수량인 $4.9m^3$/초 외에 안정성이 요구되는 생 공용수로 약 $4.2m^3$/초의 유량과, 제한적인 시기만 사용하는 농업전용으로 약 $10.3m^3$/초의 유량이 공급 가능할 것으로 나타났다.

한국의 전력소비와 경제성장의 인과관계 분석

  • The paper examined the relationship between total and sector level electricity consumptions and economic growth in Korea for the period of 1980-2009. The results of unit-roots and cointegration tests show that all variables-real GDP, total, primary, manufacture, and service sector electricity consumptions-were not stationary and there were no linear combinations in the long run between electricity consumptions and economic growth. Thus, by using standard Granger-causality test we found that total, primary, and manufacture sector electricity consumptions were Granger-caused by economic growth, not vice versa. This means that causality runs from economic growth to each electricity consumption. However, there is no causal relationship between service sector electricity consumption and economic growth. These results imply that the government policies aimed at reducing electricity consumptions and increasing energy efficiency etc. can be feasible without deterring economic growth in Korea.

Corrosion mitigation of photovoltaic ribbon using a sacrificial anode (희생양극을 이용한 태양광 리본의 부식 저감)

  • Degradation is commonly observed in field-aged PV modules due to corrosion of the photovoltaic ribbon. The reduced performance is caused by a loss of fill factor due to the high series resistance in the PV ribbon. This study aimed to mitigate the degradation by corrosion using five sacrificial anodes - Al, Zn and their alloys - to identify the most effective material to mitigate the corrosion of the PV ribbon. The corrosion behavior of the five sacrificial anode materials were examined by open circuit potential measurements, potentiodynamic polarization tests, and galvanic current density and potential measurements using a zero resistance ammeter. Immersion tests for 120 hours were also conducted using materials and damp heat test tests were performed for 1500 hours using 4 cell mini modules. The Al-3Mg and Al-3Zn-1Mg sacrificial anodes had a low corrosion rate and reduced drop in power, making then suitable for long-term use.

Analysis of Slope Behavior Using FBG Sensor and Inclinometer (광섬유 센서와 지중경사계를 이용한 사면의 거동 분석)

  • Several sensor systems are used to estimate the reinforcing effect of stabilizing pile in slopes, and to find a failure surface in slopes effectively. FBG(Fiber Brags Crating) sensor, V/W(Vibrating Wire) sensor and inclinometer have shown a great potentiality to serve real time health monitoring of the reinforcing structures. Field tests and test results have shown great solutions for sensor systems of Smart Structures. The purpose of this research is to seek for the relationships among the slope movement and the reinforcing effect of stabilizing pile, and the strain distribution of stabilizing pile in a active zone by analyzing the data from the in-situ measurement so that the possible failure surface should be well defined based on the relationships. The field test results have shown that the data by FBG sensor are well coincided with those of V/W sensor and inclinometer, and the reinforcing effect of the stabilizing pile is good enough.

Two Axis Attitude Control System Design of Momentum Biased Satellite (모멘텀 바이어스 인공위성의 2축 자세제어 시스템 설계)

  • It is required to develop a highly reliable attitude & orbit control system of satellite that is less expensive as the technology of satellite design & integration is recently matured dramatically. To accomodate this kind of needs, the two axis attitude control method for wheel-based momentum-biased satellite system whose momentum bias vector points to a certain direction(sun direction), is developed using simple but reliable sensors and actuator: three axis magnetometer and coarse sun sensor are used as sensors, and magnetic torque bars are used as actuator. Classical PD type controller design methodologies are applied on a satellite system for the two axis control with the proper assumptions. Nonlinear simulation results are included to demonstrate the long term stability and the performance of closed-loop system design results.

The Creep Behavior of Shale in Daegu Area (대구지역 셰일의 크리프 특성)

  • Deformation is found by an external force in the rock which has internal stress. So, deformation is increased in time what is stressed under constant load. Rock materials collapse suddenly in a long period when the creep rate increases slightly. So mechanical deformability of the ground is an essential condition for determination of long term safety in structures. The result of analysis in 40%, 50%, 60%, 70% of constant load in creep test, strain velocity constants $\alpha$ and ${\gamma}$ increase with load increasement. Griggs equation is more exact than Li and Xia, Singh equation, and G$_2$of a flow constant by Burger's model decreases with stress increasement, but η$_1$$_2$and G$_1$ manifest irregularly in this study.
