This research examined the influencing factors on magazine subscription. 499 magazine readers had answered on the survey questions. Structural equation model analysis, frequency analysis and reliability analysis were used by SPSS 15.0 and Amos 7.0 program for verifying the hypotheses. The results were as follows: First, the speciality of magazine journalists had a positive effect on magazine recognition. Second, the speciality of magazine journalists had a positive effect on subscription to magazine. Third, the magazine recognition had a positive effect on subscription to magazine. Fourth, the price, a copy of magazine, had not significant effect on subscription to magazine. Fifth, the percentage of news item and advertisement had not significant effect on subscription to magazine. Sixth, the reading amount had a positive effect on subscription to magazine.

한국잡지협회(회장 남궁영훈)는 지난 1월 7일 오후 5시 세종문화회관 세종홀에서 잡지산업의 발전과 화합을 다짐하는 '2014 잡지인 신년교례회'를 개최했다. 이날 잡지인 신년교례회에는 잡지관련 단체장 및 학계 관계자, 잡지인 등 130여명이 참석했다.

이번 세미나에서 발표자들은 '정기간행물의 등록 등에 관한 법률'에 주간잡지가 신문으로 분류되어 있는 것은 과거 권위주의시대의 그릇된 발상이라고 지적하는 한편, 새 정부출범과 함께 우리 잡지도 위상을 재고해야 한다며 그 방편으로 옴브즈맨제도의 도입과 독립된 잡지윤리위원회의 설치, 잡지 발행부수 공개의 제도화 등을 건의했다.

잡지는 4대 언론매체의 하나로, 다른 언론매체보다 사회현실을 심층적으로 분석하고 해설하는 기능을 수행하고 있다. 이에 잡지를 학문적으로 체계화하고 과학화하기 위한 한국잡지학회가 설립, 지난 8월 30일 프레스센터 20층 국제회의장에서 한국잡지연구소와 공동으로 '미디어 융합시대, 잡지학의 재발견' 이라는 주제로 창립총회 및 기념세미나를 개최했다.

'제47회 잡지의 날' 기념식이 11월 1일 오진 10시30분 서울 여의도 사학연금회관에서 열렸다. '잡지의 날'은 근대 잡지의 효시인 육당 최남선의 '소년'지 창간일(1908년 11월 1일)을 기념해 정한 날로, 문화체육관광부는 잡지문화 진흥에 공이 큰 잡지인에게 훈장, 포장, 대통령 표창 등 정부포상을 매년 실시해오고 있다.

New technologies will soon bring fundamental changes to the process of scientific communication. To understand the path that these changes may take in the future, we need to take a careful look at the past. By examining the history of scientific communication, we can see how new technologies can interact with changes in communication forms. By looking at the complex roles that journals have traditionally played, we can better understand how and when journals may incorporate these new technologies. From these models we can project that electronic journals must meet the basic needs that print journals do, that they will initially maintain many of the features of traditional print journals, that their transformation may be driven by external forces, and that they will be slow in reaching their full potential.

한국잡지협회(회장 이창의)는 지난 9월 8일 프레스센터 19층 기자회견장에서 회원 및 회원사 임직원 150명을 대상으로 2011 잡지발전세미나를 개최했다. '새로운 미디어 환경속에서의 잡지산업'이라는 대주제로 진행된 이번 세미나에서 박광무 한나라당 수석전문위원이 '문화산업정책의 방향과 잡지산업 발전전략'에 대해, 윤용근 법무법인 송현 변호사가 '잡지와 저작권 이야기(저작권 실무)'에 대해 발표했다. 본지는 윤용근 변화사의 '잡지와 저작권 이야기'발제를 요약 정리한다.

Introduces and analyzes basic library collection management issues regarding electronic journals, including selection, budgeting, policy making, collection evaluation, and preservation/archiving. Argues that staffing and budgeting for electronic journals can be organized on subject-based or format-based approaches, or some combination of both. Electronic journals are selected through the same three-stage process used for print journals : identification, evaluation, and selection. Most of the traditional criteria for print journals are also applicable to electronic journals, but additional criteria are superimposed on them. The cancellation and weeding of electronic journals have not been addressed ;by ;the profession, but will assume more significance in the future. There is a need for new client-centered evaluation methodologies that focus on availability and accessibility rather than ownership.

근대잡지의 효시인 육당 최남선의 '소년'지 창간일인 11월 1일을 기념해 정한 잡지의 날을 맞아 한국잡지협회(회장 남궁영훈)는 지난 10월 30일부터 11월 1일까지 문화체육관광부, 서울특별시, 한국언론진흥재단 후원으로 '코리아 매거진 페스티벌 2014'를 서울 광화문광장에서 개최했다. 또한 10월 31일에는 세종문화회관 세종홀에서 제49회 잡지의 날 기념식을 가졌다.

전자잡지는 원고 작성부터 편집, 제작 등 전 과정에 이르기 까지 컴퓨터 활용은 물론 CD-ROM이나 인터넷을 이용, 전통 인쇄방식 없이도 독자에게 전달되는 단계에 접어 들었다. 컴퓨터와 인터넷, 그리고 디지털혁명과 뉴테크놀로지는 잡지 형태를 현격히 변화시키고 있는 것이다. 앞으로 정보기술을 이용한 전자잡지의 발전은 더욱 증대될 것이다. 따라서 전자잡지 분야에서는 이러한 신기술의 발전에 대해 더욱 많은 관심과 끊임없는 실험정신을 가지고 멀티미디어 시대를 대비해 나가야 할 것이다.
