Highly Directional Loudspeaker Array Using Optimal Beamformer (최적 빔포머를 이용한 고지향성 라우드스피커 어레이)

  • 본 연구에서는 최적 빔포머 (optimal beamformer)를 이용하여, 높은 지향특성을 갖는 라우드스피커 어레이를 구성하였다. 센서 어레이 시스템에 널리 적용되는 빔포밍 방법은 상반성 (reciprocity)의 원리에 의하여 라우드스피커 시스템에도 적용이 가능하다. 음원의 개수 및 배치 간격과 같은 최적 빔포머의 설계 변수와 지향성과의 관계를 살펴보고, 잡음 증폭을 억제하기 위해 적용되는 안정화 계수 (stability factor)도 유용한 설계 변수로 활용하였다. 또한 라우드스피커 자체가 갖는 지향성과 반사와 산란 등을 고려하여 빔포머를 최적화하는 방법을 제안하였고, 이 방법을 통해 예측치와 실제 시스템과의 차이를 줄였다. 실행 예제로 실제 어레이 시스템을 구성하고, 모의 실험과 실제 측정을 수행하여 성능을 확인하였다.

Image Enhancement Using Signal Direction (신호 방향을 고려한 영상 화질 개선)

  • This paper develops a robust image enhancement method by adjusting image signal energy according to the direction and the variation of image signal in DCT domain. To accomplish this, we measure the gradient of image signal directly in DCT domain and then adjust frequency components involved in sharpness, local contrast and global contrast using the direction and the magnitude of the measured gradient The experiment showed that the proposed method produces the best quality of an image without causing blocking, ringing artifacts and boosting noise.

  • NSOM(Near-field Scanning Optical Microscopy) 조화 진동자(Tuning fork)와 광섬유 탐침을 결속시켜 미소신호를 검출하여 증폭과 잡음을 제거하기 위한 Pre-amplifier의 설계 및 제작과 더불어 시료-탐침간 거리를 파장보다 짧게 유지시키는 Shear force 검출, 효율적인 시료-탐침 거리유지 알고리즘 구연 및 탐침을 시료 표면에서 일정한 거리를 안정적으로 유지하도록 제어 및 시료의 높이 정보를 얻어내는 시스템을 설계 및 제작하였다. 또한 ����$CO_2Laser$를 이용한 Heat Pulling 장치개발을 통해 탐침을 제작, LabVIEW를 통해 개별적인 시스템을 하나로 통합하여 AFM 테스트 시료인 SiO 샘플의 표면 형상을 측정하였다.

  • A low noise erbium doped fiber amplifier for optical preamplification has been demonstrated. The amplifier incoporates an optical isolator in its midway to prevent decrease of population inversion at the input port due to backward traveling amplified spontaneous emission. Then, high gain and low noise can be achieved simultaneously. A small signal gain of 34dB and a noise figure of 5.5dB have been achieved. With this amplifier, we obtained a receiver sensitivity of -39.7dBm with back to back configuration and -39.3dBm with 47km normal fiber for 10$^{-9}$BER at 2.5Gbps direct modulated optical signal.

  • 인공위성을 이용한 범 지구 위치결정시스템인 GPS(Global Positioning System)는 수 밀리의 정밀도로 정적, 동적 위치측정이 가능한 시스템으로 교량, 건축물, 댐 등 각종 구조물의 미세한 변위를 측정하는데 이용되고 있다. 최근 국내에서도 대형구조물의 변위 측정에 GPS를 활용하려는 시도가 부분적으로 이루어지고 있으나 초보적인 단계이며 체계적인 연구가 이루어지지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 RTK(Real Time Kinematic) GPS로 구조물의 변위를 실시간 측정하고 모니터링 할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다. 먼저 예비실험으로 반송파의 차분에 의해서 증폭되는 수신기의 측정잡음 오차, 다중경로 오차, GDOP(Geometric Dilution of Precision)가 RTK GPS의 위치정확도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그리고, RTK GPS를 이용하여 마포대교를 관측한 결과, 수 센티미터 정도 발생하는 구조물의 변위를 3차원으로 정밀 관측할 수 있었으며, 본 연구에서 개발한 모니터링프로그램을 이용하여 구조물의 거동을 실시간으로 모니터링 할 수 있었다.

Design of the LDO Regulator with 2-stage wide-band OTA for High Speed PMIC (고속 PMIC용 2단 광대역 OTA방식의 LDO 레귤레이터 설계)

  • This paper presents a design of the CMOS LDO regulator with a fast transient response for a high speed PMIC(power management integrated circuit). Proposed LDO regulator circuit consists of a reference voltage circuit, an error amplifier and a power transistor. 2-stage wide-band OTA buffer between error amplifier and power transistor is added for a good output stability. Although conventional source follower buffer structure is simple, it has a narrow output swing and a low S/N ratio. In this paper, we use a 2-stage wide-band OTA instead of source follower structure for a buffer. From HSPICE simulation results using a $0.5{\mu}m$ CMOS standard technology, simulation results were 16 mV/V line regulation and 0.007 %/mA load regulation.

  • This study describes the design of the biophysiological signal processing analyzer which can collect and analyze the biosignal raw data. System hardware is consisted of the IBM PC AT. pre-amplifier. AID converter, Counter/Timer. and RS-232C processor. Biophysiological signal data were processed by the software digital filter. FFT and graphic processing routine. The tachogram and FFT of the the peak to peak interval time was accomplished by the Graphic user interface software using the biophysiological signal processed data. Using this system. the powerspectrum of the heart rate variability during the long term could be observed. Experimental results of this system approach our purpose. which is improved the cost performance. easy to use. reducing raw-data noise and optimizing model for digital filter.

  • There are four factors for patient monitoring : electrocardiography, blood pressure, temperature and respiration. While there are a lot of studies of E.C.C (electro-cardiography) monitoring system in the world, the studies of Respiratory system are not enough and leave much to be desired in the country. In this paper, we developed a respiratory system with the electrical impedance change of the lungs depending on the breath. Using the same electrode, we can monitor E.C.C and Respiration simultaneously, so we can monitor a patient's no-breathing state due to the central nerve paralysis in the emergency room easily. In this monitoring system, the analog part was made separated from the digital part for reducing power source noise and protecting patient from electric shock. The analog part consists of the several parts a high-frequency sine-wave generator, all amplifier for amplifying any impedance change signal, an analog processing part for rectifying and filtering. And the digital parts consists of three parts an AD convertor for converting analog signal to digital signal, digital filter, and a digital part for digital signal processing. This system's merits are using the same electrode with E.C.C and developing the multiple patient monitoring system easily.

  • A new Modem technique - 8SQAM(8-state Superposed Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) - for use in power and bandwidth limited digital communication system is proposed. 8SQAM is free of inter-symbol interference(ISI) and generates output signals which have a smooth and continuous phase transition and a reduced envelope fluctuation by keeping correlation between amplitudes and phases of two subsequent symbols. Accordingly, 8SQAM, as compared with a conventional 8PSK, is influenced a little by ISI and inter-modulation(IM) caused by nonlinear distortions. In this paper, the performance of the 8SQAM system, in a nonlinearly amplified channel impaired by additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN), ISI and IM, is analyzed via computer simulation. The simulation result shows that 8SQAM outperforms 8PSK with roll-off value of $\alpha$=0.25 by 2.5dB in CNR to maintain BER=1$\times$10$^{-4}$ when input back-off(IBO) of HPA is 3dB.

Outage Probability of Transmit Maximum-Ratio-Combining and Relay Selection Diversity for Amplify-and-Forward Relaying System (증폭 후 전달 릴레이 시스템을 위한 송신 Maximum-Ratio-Combining과 릴레이 선택 다이버시티에 대한 Outage 확률 분석)

  • In this paper, we consider an amplifying-and-forward(AF) dual-hop relaying system where the source node transmits to a destination node with the help of R relay nodes. We assume that the source node equips M transmit antennas, but only one antenna is equipped at the each node of relay and destination. The outage probabilities are presented when the transmit maximum-ratio-combining(MRC) is used at the source-relay(S-R) links, and the best relay selection, which selects only one relay that contributes the most to the received signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) as active relay, is combined. Simulation results validate these analytical results.
