Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate bonding efficacy by means of measuring the effect of remained solvent on Degree of conversion(DC) and ${\mu}TBS$ and FE-SEM examination. Materials and Methods: Two 2-step total etching adhesives and two single-step self etching adhesives were used in this study. First, volume weight loss of 4 dentin adhesives were measured using weighting machine in process of time in normal conditions and calculate degree of evaporation (DE). Reaction/reference intensity ratio were measured using micro-Raman spectroscopy and calculate DC according to DE. Then 2 experimental groups were prepared according to air-drying methods (under, over) and control group was prepared to manufacturer's instruction. Total 12 groups were evaluated by means of micro tensile bond strength and FE-SEM examination. Results: Degree of evaporation (DE) was increased as time elapsed but different features were observed according to the kind of solvents. Acetone based adhesive showed higher DE than ethanol and butanol based adhesive. Degree of conversion (DC) was increased according to DE except for $S^3$ bond. In ${\mu}TBS$ evaluation, bond strength was increased by additional air-drying. Large gaps and droplets were observed in acetone based adhesives by FE-SEM pictures. Conclusions: Additional air-drying is recommended for single-step self etching adhesive but careful consideration is required for 2-step total etching adhesive because of oxygen inhibition layer. Evaporation method is carefully chose and applied according to the solvent type.

Benzene-ring-labelled $^{14}C-Bentazon$(3-isopropyl-2, 1, 3-benzothiadiazin-4-one-2, 2-dioxide) incubated aerobically in a German and a Korean soil at application rates of 5.51 and 25.05mg/Kg was mineralized to $^{14}CO_2$ at average rates of 0.6% and 0. 2%/week, respectively, in both soils, in the absence of plants. Distilled water was the most suitable solvent for the extraction of Bentazontreated soils. Extraction results disclosed that higher percentages of nonextractable residues were formed in the lower concentration of 5.51mg/Kg than in the higher concentration of 25.05mg/Kg, relative to the initial concentrations.
Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) is known as a more environmental-friendly process with economic advantages in terms of less time, less solvent, less energy and less waste than the current reflux method that is time-consuming. MAE was applied to extract three pesticides (quintozene, tolclofos-methyl and procymidone) from ginseng in a pesticide residue analysis and eliminate pesticide contaminants from ginseng prior to production of the ginseng extracts. The optimal conditions for pesticide extraction from ginseng were 50% in power (150 watts), 2 minutes, 20 mL hexane and 2.0 g sample. The results of optimal conditions were compared with those of Soxhlet method (7 hours, 150 mL hexane). The recoveries between two methods were almost same while time and amount of solvent used in MAE were significantly decreased in comparing with those in the Soxhlet methods. When the 45% ethyl alcohol as a extraction solvent was applied to eliminate pesticides from ginseng prior to the production of the ginseng extracts, it was found that 100% quintozene, 69% tolclofos-methyl and 83% procymidone were eliminated from ginseng. The data showed that MAE may be used to eliminate pesticide contaminants in ginseng prior to making the ginseng extracts.

In order to develop the simultaneous analytical method for pesticide residues which ones in soil are rapidly and inexpensively measured by, many analytical methods for individual pesticide residue and several methods for multi-pesticide residues in agricultural commodities and food were reviewed. Various gas chromatographic conditions and pre-treatment procedures were intensively investigated and modified. And then new optimum procedure was established and its proficiency was validated. The response on detectors of simultaneous determination of 180 pesticides out of pesticides used in Korea was tested. The number of pesticides that their limits of detection (LOD) equal or lower than $0.05\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ were 137 pesticides on ECD, 170 pesticides on NPD and 179 pesticides on ECD/NPD integrated. The retention times of most pesticides ranged appropriately between 10 minutes and 40 minutes in the proposed chromatographic conditions. But about 90 pesticides eluded between 20 minutes and 30 minutes and so they were not resolved enough. In partition with dichloromethane, ethyl acetate/hexane (1:1) and ethyl acetate, number of pesticides whose extraction efficiency ranged from 70% to 120%, were 163, 154 and 147, respectively.

Nonylphenols are toxic compounds classified as endocrine disruptors. We investigated the nonylphenols clean-up procedures for the contamination control in the quantitative analysis. In this research we analyzed the residual nonylphenols in the solvent and the SPE cartridges. First, at the analysis of HPLC grade solvents (n-hexane, diethyl ether, ethyl acetate and its mixture), diethyl ether was confirmed the residue as 0.963 ${\mu}g/mL$, and we eliminated the contaminant through the distillation with $CaH_2$, Second, at the analysis of SPE cartridges (silica gel and Florisil), all products were showed the residue at 0.046~13.0 ${\mu}g/mL$, but unfortunately the residue in the cartridge were not easily removed with referenced methods in all tested SPE cartridges except in silica gel SPE cartridge with glass ware.
This study was conducted to elucidate extraction efficiency by microwave in comparison with Soxhlet for extraction of pesticide residues in dried medical herbs; red-ginseng, white-ginseng, Bupleuri Radix, Angelica gigas Nakai, Rehmannia glutinosa. The acetone extraction by microwave of tolclofos-methyl and quintozene in medical herbs was efficient. The extraction efficiency by microwave with power 45 to 150 watts, extraction time 1 to 5 minutes and solvent volume 30 ml was compared with that of Soxhlet with extraction time 7 hours and solvent volume 150 ml. The extraction efficiency by microwave with extraction time 3 to 5 minutes was similar with extraction time of 7 hours by Soxhlet. When medical herbs spiked with tolclofos-methyl and quintozene was analyzed to how the extraction efficiency of microwave by kind of medical herbs, the extraction efficiency by microwave with extraction time of 3 to 5 minutes was the same as Soxhlet extraction. The optimal condition for extraction of tolclofos-methyl and quintozene in medical herbs by microwave was 45 to 90 watts of power supply, 3 to 5 minutes of extraction time and acetone 30 ml of solvent volume.
The solvent extraction and cleanup processes for the simultaneous gas-liquid cliromatographic determination of 16 kinds of organochlorine pesticide residues were investigated. The pesticides were extracted out from-various crops with the aqueous acetone solution acidified (pH < 1.5) by adding conc. $H_3PO_4$. Most of the pesticides were partitioned from the solution with petroleum ether. Evaporated the extracting solvent, the residues were dissolved in ethylether-petroleum ether (6 : 94) eluent and eluted through the Florisil column activated at 650$^{\circ}$C for 2.5hrs. The extraction efficiency was over 94% and impurities were effectively removed by the column chromatography.
The manufacturing method of permalloy soft magnet with the Ni contents of 46.6 and 47.2 wt% was investigated by powder injection molding technology. The magnetic properties of permalloy were greatly affected on the residual carbon and oxygen content of the sintered magnet. Solvent extraction and thermal debinding process to minimize the residual carbon content in sintered magnet were developed by controlling the debinding atmosphere. The residual carbon content depends on the debinding condition of the binder system for powder injection molding and the residual oxygen content on the sintering atmosphere. The sintered magnet produced by powder injection molding process had a 50 ppm. residual carbon, 150 ppm. residual oxygen. The coercivity and maximum relative permeability of permalloy soft magnet were 0.46 Oe and 14,600 respectively.
This research investigated benzimidazole residues (albendazole, fenbendazole, flubendazole, thiabendazole, oxibendazole) in livestock products. A total of 270 samples of livestock products (beef, pork and chicken) were purchased from local markets in Korea. Ethyl acetate was used to extract analytes from the sample, after which ethyl acetate extracts were purified using a MCX cartridge. Analytes were detected using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The limit of detection was 0.01-0.04 ppb, the limit of quantification was 0.03-0.13 ppb, the linearity ($r^2$) was 0.9992-1.0000, and the recovery was 70-85%. Residues of benzimidazoles, except for fenbendazole in pork, were not found in any of the 270 livestock samples. Fenbendazole was detected in the range of 1.2 to 3.1 ppb in 12 samples of pork.
