Characteristics of Pesticide residue in/on cucurbitaceous fruit vegetables applied with foliar spraying under greenhouse (시설재배에서의 박과 과채류 중 살포농약의 잔류특성)

  • Comparison of pesticide residue dissipation in/on cucurbitaceous fruit vegetables applied by foliar spraying under greenhouse was carried out to give information on crop grouping for assessment of pesticide risk. Even though the initial deposit of spayed pesticide on the target vegetables were somewhat different from the varieties, the dissipation patterns of the residues gave a similar tendency. In case sub-groupings of cucurbitaceous fruit vegetables are carefully arranged, the residue data among the vegetables are able to be taken for pre-harvest interval (PHI) settings or food safety assessment.

  • The manufacturing method of permalloy soft magnet with the Ni contents of 46.6 and 47.2 wt% was investigated by powder injection molding technology. The magnetic properties of permalloy were greatly affected on the residual carbon and oxygen content of the sintered magnet. Solvent extraction and thermal debinding process to minimize the residual carbon content in sintered magnet were developed by controlling the debinding atmosphere. The residual carbon content depends on the debinding condition of the binder system for powder injection molding and the residual oxygen content on the sintering atmosphere. The sintered magnet produced by powder injection molding process had a 50 ppm. residual carbon, 150 ppm. residual oxygen. The coercivity and maximum relative permeability of permalloy soft magnet were 0.46 Oe and 14,600 respectively.

도공층의 공극 구조와 인쇄후 잉크의 잔류거동에 관한 연구

  • 종이가 가지는 공극 특성은 종이의 광학적 특성에 지대한 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 인쇄용 지로서 사용될 때 잉크의 다공성 기질로서 잉크의 잔류 특성에도 큰 영향을 미친다. 특히 다공성 기지의 표변에 유동성이 뛰어난 물질이 가해 질 때, 이들의 유동 특성은 기질이 지 니고 있는 공극율과 공극의 분포에 따라 큰 차이를 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 공극성은 백상지의 경우 사용된 펄프의 혼합 비율과 충전제의 사용량 그리고 펄프의 고해 정도에 따라 종이의 공극울이 달라진다. 종이의 공극성이 광학적 특성과 밀접한 연관성을 지니는 것은 종이의 광산란 계수를 결정하기 때문이다. 잘 알려진 바와 같이 종이의 광산란 계수는 빛의 산란과 관계되어 백색도와 백감도에 영향을 미친다. 그러나 도공지가 인쇄 용 지로 사용 될 경우, 도공지 표면에 도피되는 영크층은 도공지가 가지고 있는 구조적 특성을 변화시킬 수 있는 제3의 요인으로 간주 될 수 있다. 결국, 인쇄가 완료된 종이의 경우 원지층, 도공층 그리고 잉크층으로 구성된다. 따라서 다양 한 공극 구조를 가지는 기질위에 잉크가 도피될 경우 기질의 공극 특성에 따라 잉크 조성분 의 침투 거동에도 많은 차이가 있을 것으로 예측된다. 잉크의 구성 요소를 살펴보면 잉크의 색상을 결정하는 안료, 단일의 각 안료 입자를 도포하여 인쇄판으로부터 종이까지 운송시키 는 기능과 인쇄기에서 잉크의 유동성을 유지하고 종이 또는 기타 피인쇄체에 전이된 후에는 건조막을 형성하는 비히클 그리고 각종 기능성 첨가제로 구성되어 있다. 동일한 성분으로 구성된 잉크를 사용하여 각각 공극성이 다른 피인쇄체 위에 인쇄 될 경우 이들 조성분의 이 동과 표면 잔류 특성에 변화가 있을 것으로 생각된다. 즉 공극성이 풍부한 기질에 도피된 잉크는 반대의 경우와 비교하여 보다 많은 조성분이 종이의 공극 속으로 침투하게 될 것이 다. 이 과정에서 특히 미세한 안료 입자의 경우 피인쇄체의 표면 공극을 채우고, 비히클의 경우 미세한 공극속으로 침투되어 경화됨으로써 피인쇄체가 지니고 있는 공극량을 감소시커 게 될 것이다. 그리고 피인쇄체의 각종 형태의 공극으로 침투된 잉크의 양에 반비례적으로 피인쇄체의 표변에 잉크가 잔류하게 될 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 여러가지 안료를 사용하여 각각 다른 공극 특성을 지니는 도공지를 제조한 후 이들이 가지는 공극 특성과 잉크의 잔류 거동에 대해 고찰해 보고자 하였다.

A Study on Fatigue Characteristics under Residual Stress by Cold Expansion (홀 확장 잔류응력하의 피로특성에 관한 연구)

  • Cold expansion method is an effective process to retard the crack initiation at a hole and to improve fatigue life by developing the compressive residual stress around the hole. Several researches have been treated for the crack propagating toward a hole around which the residual stress by cold expansion exists. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the fatigue characteristics under the residual stress by cold expansion. Fatigue tests are performed for the plate with a central hole to which cold expansion has been applied, and the effects of the residual stress on the fatigue life are evaluated. Also the fatigue crack growth tests are conducted for the CT specimen in which the residual stress by cold expansion has been generated. The change of fatigue crack growth characteristics by the residual stress is investigated and the effects of cold expansion ratio are evaluated.

  • The quantitative assessment of the effect of the residual stress on fracture behavior was executed by some experiment and numerical analysis. First of all, artificial residual stresses were imposed on CT(Compact Tension) specimens by local heating using gas torch, and an appropriate distribution of residual stresses was obtained by thermal elastic-plastic FE analysis. To certify the result of the FE analysis, an experimental measurement was performed in accordance with ASTM standard. Fracture toughness test was executed on the several types of specimens. The first type was the specimen without residual stresses, and the others had different peak value of compressive residual stress at crack front via controlling the heat flux. All the test results were presented on th J resistance(JR) curves and discussed to verify the effect of compressive residual stresses on fracture behavior.

  • In this study, the weld residual stress distribution at a dissimilar-metal welded plate of low alloy carbon steel and stainless steel, which are widely used in nuclear power plants, was characterized. A plate mock-up with butt welding was fabricated using SA 508 low alloy steel and Type 304 stainless steel plates and the residual stresses were measured by the X-ray diffraction method after electrolytic polishing of the plate specimen. Finite element analysis was carried out in order to simulate the butt welding of dissimilar metal plate, and the calculated weld residual stress distribution was compared with that obtained from the measured data. The characteristics of the three-dimensional residual stress distribution in a butt weld of dissimilar metal plates were investigated by comparing the measured and calculated residual stress data.

  • Fumigant, methyl bromide which is used in most countries for plant quarantine, has been designated and under control as ozone depleting substance. For developing alternative chemicals for methyl bromide, many countries have been intensifying their capacity. This study was carried out to investigate the residue patterns of hydrogen cyanide which is commonly used for plant quarantine. Hydrogen cyanide was treated onto the orange, banana, and pineapple at recommended and double doses and then sampling was done at 1 and 3 day after fumigation treatment. Residue of hydrogen cyanide was found safe because average residue levels on orange, banana, and pineapple after 3 days of fumigation treatment were $0.57{\pm}0.05$, $0.21{\pm}0.17$, and $0.41{\pm}0.08$ ppm, which were lower than the MRLs of Korea (5 ppm), Japan (5 ppm), USA (50 ppm), and Canada (25 ppm). Hydrogen cyanide are expected to be used as alternative chemicals for methyl bromide fumigant for orange, banana, and pineapple.

  • Recently, low-temperature pyrolysis technology has been studied as a recycling method for waste plastic. Low-temperature pyrolysis technology for waste plastic produces pyrolysis oil that can be used as an energy resource, but solid residue remains. Waste plastic pyrolysis residues are mostly landfilled due to their limited use. In this study, it is investigated that mixed waste plastic pyrolysis residues could be recycled into activated carbon. It was confirmed that the fixed carbon content of the residue was 33.69 % from proximate Analysis. Chemical activation was used to manufacture activated carbon. KOH was used as an activator. To investigate the effect of the mixing ratio of KOH and residue, samples were mixed at ratios of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0. The mixed sample was chemically activated at an activation temperature of 800 ℃ for 1 hour. As a result of analyzing the characteristics of activated carbon through BET, it was confirmed that the specific surface area increased as the mixing ratio of KOH increased.

Magnetic Properties of Magnetites at Low Temperatures (자철석의 저온 자화특성)

  • Magnetic properties at low-temperatures can diagnose the presence of certain magnetic minerals in rocks. At the Verwey transition temperature ($T_v$, ~105~120 K), magnetite transforms from monoclinic to cubic structure as the temperature increases. At the isotropic point ($T_i$, ~135 K), magnetocrystalline anisotropic constant of magnetite passes through zero (from negative to positive) as the temperature decreases so that its optimal remanence acquisition axis changes from [111] to [001]. A sharp remanence drop was observed at $T_v$ during warming of LTSIRM (low-temperature saturation isothermal remanent magnetization). For cooling of RTSIRM (room-temperature saturation isothermal remanent magnetization), the remanence decreased on passing $T_i$ and $T_v$. On warming of RTSIRM, remanence recovery becomes more prominent as the average grain size of magnetite increases. In summary, the SIRM memory decreases with increasing grain size of magnetite. A similar, but rather gradual, remanence transition occurs for natural samples due to contribution of cations other than Fe. As a non-destructive tool, low-temperature magnetic behavior is sensitive to unravel the magnetic remanence carriers in terrestrial rocks or meteorites.

Residual properties of ethoprophos with treatment methods in sweet pepper under greenhouse condition (착색단고추 시설재배시 에토프 입제의 처리방법별 잔류특성)

  • Two experiments were carried out in greenhouse under hydrophilic culture facilities and simulation model to provide residual characteristics of ethoprophos treated in sweet pepper's growth. To identify the pattern of absorption-translocation through the plant roots, ethoph 5 % GR were diluted in hydrophilic culture solution and drenched at a time per day for three days. The residue in fruit came closed to 0.02 ppm of MRL at 10 days after treatment(DAT) and reached peaked 0.06 ppm at 30 DAT and remained excess MRL level until around 40 DAT. To confirm the pattern of contamination by volatilization of ethoprophos, ethoph 5%GR was scattered 2 g per cubic meter. At 72 hours after treatment, the residue in sweet pepper fruit was exceed the MRL and the maximum residual amount were 0.62 ppm by volatilization. Consequently the use of ethoprophos during the growth of sweet pepper would be strong possibility to exceed the MRL.
