Elasto-Magnetic Sensor-Based Local Cross-Sectional Damage Detection for Steel Cables (Elasto-Magnetic 센서를 이용한 강재 케이블 국부 단면 감소 손상 탐지)

  • The Elasto-magnetic sensor is applied to detect the local cross-sectional loss of steel cables in this study while it was originally developed for measuring the tensile force in the previous works. To verify the feasibility of the proposed damage detection technique, steel bars which have 4-different diameters were fabricated and the output voltage value was measured at each diameter by the E/M sensor. Optimal input voltage and working point are chosen so that the linearity and resolution of results can ensure through repeated experiments, and then the E/M sensor was measured the output voltage values at the damage points of steel bar specimen that was applied the 4 types of damage condition based on the selected optimal experimental condition. This proposed approach can be an effective tool for steel cable health monitoring.

Electromagnetic wave absorption characteristics in Ni-Mn-Zn Ferrite with varying Mn content and applied magnetic field (Ni-Mn-Zn ferrite의 합성과 Mn의 치환량 및 인가자장에 따른 전자기파 흡수 특성 연구)

  • Ni-Mn-Zn ferrite, Ni0.5-xMnxZn0.5Fe2O4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5), was synthesized using the sol-gel method to investigate the crystal structure, microstructure, magnetic properties, high-frequency characteristics, and electromagnetic (EM) wave absorption characteristics as a function of Mn substitution. As the Mn content increased, a continuous decrease in saturation magnetization (MS) was observed with little change in coercivity (HC). Samples for each composition (x) exhibited strong EM wave absorption performance with first and second strong EM wave absorption regions satisfying minimum reflection loss, RLmin < -40 dB in the 1.5~2.5, 6~11 GHz range, respectively. The EM wave absorption in Ni-Mn-Zn ferrite depends on magnetic loss, and adjusting µ' and µ'' spectra by Mn substitution or H field allows control of the EM wave absorption frequency.

Magnetic Properties in Alternating Magnetic Field for the Sintered Ee-l7Cr-2M(M=Si, Nb, Mo) Alloys (Fe-l7Cr-2M(M=Si, Nb, Mo)합금 분말 소결체의 교류 자기 특성)

  • Fe-l7Cr-2M(M=Si, Nb, Mo) alloy powder was prepared by plasma electrode rotating atomizer and than the alloy powder was formed and sintered. The particle shape of the Fe-l7Cr-2M(M=Si, Nb, Mo) alloy power is spherical. The saturation magnetization of the sintered Fe-17Cr-2Mo and Fe-l7Cr-2Nb alloy are 155 emu/g. The saturation magnetization of the sintered Fe-l7Cr-2Si alloy is less than that of the sintered Fe-l7Cr-2Mo and Fe-l7Cr-2Nb alloy. The amplitude relative permeability of the sintered Fe-l7Cr-2M(M=Si, Nb, Mo) alloy has the maximum value in the range of 3∼5 Oe applied field at forming pressure 12 ton/cm$^2$, sintering temperature 1200$^{\circ}C$, and frequency 1 kHz. Power loss of the sintered Fe-l7Cr-2Nb alloy is 40 mW/cc at applied field, H$\sub$a/=5 Oe, and frequency, f=1 kHz. The power loss of the sintered Fe-l7Cr-2Nb alloy is a half of that of the sintered Fe-l7Cr-2Si and Fe-l7Cr-2Mo alloy.

Cutaneous hydration effect of collagen hydrolysate containing collagen tripeptides (콜라겐 트리펩타이드를 고함량으로 함유하는 콜라겐 가수분해물의 피부 보습 효과)

  • Skin ageing is associated with compromised performance of its fundamental barrier functions, with undesirable changes in appearance. Since this may introduce a detrimental impact on the quality of life, significant effort to discover effective ingredients against ageing is being invested. Recently, collagen hydrolysates containing tripeptides such as GlyPro-Hyp (GPH) have been developed with anticipation of improved effects compared to that of existing collagen hydrolysate-products. To evaluate the cutaneous hydration effect of collagen tripeptides (CTP), meaningful biomarkers in human dermal fibroblasts (HDF) and NC/Nga Tnd mice were analyzed in this study. Increased levels of ceramide kinase, hyaluronic acid, collagen 1A, and hyaluronan synthase-2 (HAS2), and decreased levels of hyaluronidase-1 (HYAL1) and CD44 in HDF cells were demonstrated. Furthermore, significant reduction of transepidermal water loss (TEWL), scratching behavior, HYAL1, $TNF-{\alpha}$ and IL-6 and increased water content and HAS2 were verified by in vivo tests. These results strongly suggest the potential of CTP as a skin hydration agent.
