불규칙 피로 하중을 받는 자전거 프레임에 대한 연구 (Study on Bike Frame due to Nonuniform Fatigue Loads)

  • In this study, 3 kinds of models about bike frame are simulated with static structural analysis, And fatigue life, damage and durability according to fatigue load are analyzed. A bike frame model with diamond type is compared with another model on the reinforced support with its type. In case of the reinforced support type, maximum equivalent stress or total deformation is shown with 10% or 20% more than the diamond type respectively. At both types of models, the trends of fatigue life and damage at both types are same. 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of 0 to -1MPa and the amplitude stress of 0 to 1MPa, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 3%. This stress state can be shown with 6 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE Bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. In case of the reinforced support type, fatigue life becomes shorter and damage probability becomes larger at the right side installed with support than diamond type. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the design on bike frame by investigating prevention and durability against its damage.

다양한 형상비를 갖는 사각 CFRP 튜브의 굽힘 및 비틀림 특성 (Bending and Torsional Characteristics of Rectangular CFRP Tubes with Various Aspect Ratios)

  • 섬유강화복합재료는 비강도와 비강성이 뛰어나 여러 분야에 걸쳐 사용량이 증가하고 있으며 자전거와 같은 스포츠 용품에도 사용량이 점점 증가하고 있다. 복합재료는 다양한 형상의 구조부품으로 만들어져 사용되고 있다. 특히 자전거 프레임의 일부에는 사각형 복합재 튜브 형태로 제작되어 사용되고 있으나 이에 관한 연구는 많지 않다. 사각 복합재 튜브의 경우에 모서리에 적절한 라운드 값을 주어 굽힘과 비틀림에 견디도록 설계된다. 본 연구에서는 모서리의 곡률반경이 R5, R10, R15인 세 개의 그룹에 가로-세로 1:1, 1:1.5, 1:2의 형상비를 갖는 아홉 종류의 사각 복합재 튜브를 제작하였다. 탄소섬유강화복합재료가 튜브제작에 사용되었으며 단면적은 모두 같도록 설계되었다. $[0/90/{\pm}45]s$으로 적층하여 제작한 사각 복합재 튜브에 굽힘과 비틀림 하중을 가하여 실험평가를 수행하였다. 실험결과 사각 복합재 튜브의 R 값과 형상비에 따라서 굽힘 및 비틀림 특성이 크게 다름을 알 수 있었다.

자전거 프레임의 형상과 방향에 따른 구조적 내구성 해석 (Structural Durability Analysis Related to Shape and Direction of Bicycle Frames)

  • While accelerating, bicycle frames are subject to torsion forces and deformation. In this study, bicycle frame durability was evaluated by using structural, fatigue, and vibration experiments. Three types of models were designed by changing the frame configurations according to the shape and direction of a bicycle frame design. Because maximum equivalent stress was greatest at the saddle and at connected parts in Models 1, 2, and 3, these frame sections were most vulnerable to failure. Model 2 was the least safe, due to the increased total deformation and equivalent stresses in the top tube horizontal to the ground. Based on vibration and fatigue analysis results, Model 2 was also determined to be the least safe frame, because the head tube was placed slightly higher above the seat tube and inclined to $10^{\circ}$. These study results can be utilized in the design of bicycle frames by investigating prevention and durability against damage.
