The material management process model of material characteristic for material administration of physical distribution (자재물류관리를 위한 자재 속성별 자재관리 프로세스 모델 - ETO 범주 자재를 중심으로 -)

  • In construction industry, the cost related to material is different from each other under the characteristic of projects. However, it has 40% of the whole cost in the composition of prime cost. Recently, While the construction work become bigger, specialized and complex, it is complex to carry in materials because of shortage of space. However, in many cases, material management has been underestimated as well as the material management is depending on experience of site managers so it has been studied about frequently. In this study, I suggest four classification methods of material characteristic ETO, ATO, MTO, MTS. I also analyze what the most efficient supply management of the site materials is through researching the characteristics of the material distribution. In conclusion, I would like to build the material management classification for the characteristics of materials.

  • In general, material cost of a construction project is more than 30$^{\sim}$40% of total construction cost, thus on site material control is very important. The factthat buildings have recently become higher and bigger also increases the importance of on site material control. However, on site material control has not been considered as an important management issue. This study classifies building construction materials considering the material delivery characteristics such as ETO, ATO, MTO and MTS and the unique characteristics of each materials. Using the classification, this study examine the requirements for on site material control of each materials. Finally, this study suggests on site material control systems for each construction material.

  • 원자재 가격의 계속된 오름세는 그렇지 않아도 힘겨운 설비건설업계를 더욱 옥죄고 있다. 이번 호에서는 4/4분기 주요 자재 전망과 현장 손익관리 요소에 관하여 소견을 내어 보았다. 현장 손익의 핵심 요소는 인건비, 자재비 관리라고 할 수 있는데, 인건비는 단가가 거의 고정이므로 투입 인원 관리 외에 별도로 고려할 내용이 없지만, 자재는 공사기간 내내 변동성이 크므로 특별한 전략이 필요하다고 생각한다. 먼저 자재 동향부터 살펴 보자.

  • 본 논문은 RFID를 이용하여 자재 관리 시스템을 구현한다. 기존의 자재 관리 시스템은 바코드를 이용한 단순 입출고 기능을 한다. 따라서 자재 이동 경로나 자재를 사용하는 부서에 대한 정보를 효율적으로 관리하기 어렵다. 또한 자재의 사용 목적 및 결과를 알 수 없다. 하지만 RFID를 이용하면 이런 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 RFID 기술을 자재 관리 시스템에 도입하여 대량의 자재를 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 시스템을 설계한다. 상태 관리, 위치 관리, 불량 관리 프로세서를 구현한다. 시스템의 처리 속도를 개선하면서 최적의 데이터를 보여주기 위한 PDA 인터페이스를 구축한다. 마지막으로 사용자 입장에서 시스템의 평가 기준을 마련한다.

  • Recently the timely delivery and the appropriate management for construction materials are of great significance in that the buildings are getting complicated and more various materials need to be handled. However, these systems have some problems, and do not seem to work effectively yet. The reason is that the lack of operation scheme for systematic management in project. In this study the efficient scheme for the .material procurement system in construction firms to manage the construction materials efficiently was discussed.

  • Using the radio wave, RFID(: Radio Frequency IDentification) wirelessly transmits the unique information saved in a tag attached on the specific object. In the construction area, the trend in using RFID for managing the input and inventory of the construction materials is upward. General management systems for the construction materials have only a function of identifying the tag attached on the construction materials, but the management system with a function of identifying and managing the location information of the construction materials employing RFID, for reusing it, is not actively developed. For the efficient reuse of the construction materials, in this paper, we propose the RFID system with a function of estimating and saving the location information of the specific construction materials, based on the estimated distances between the particular subs and reader. The proposed system consists of RFID reader, distance estimate, communication, and memory units.

  • Due to the rapid development of Internet technology, qualities of Web services are steadily improving and the Web database systems are actively employed to efficiently manage proper informations in various fields. In this paper, we propose a Web database system for the efficient material management for reusing construction materials. The proposed Web-based management system is operated using the spring framework, after constructing a database based on the collected data including tag ID, Location, Material, State, and Cycle, using the RFID(: Radion Frequency IDentification) system equipped with a location estimation module. Recently, the processing problem for a large amount of the residues generated at the demolition stage of various buildings is magnified in the construction site. The proposed Web-based construction material management system is expected for improving the processing problem as increasing the reusability and for reducing the construction cost as efficiently managing the construction materials for the reuse.

  • There have been certain extent of material inventory in construction site because of difficulties in ordering by small quantity, strategy of securing future requirements and prevention of delay. However, carrying these inventory entails a financial cost called inventory holding cost and decrease construction productivity, so proper inventory management in construction industry is important for construction efficiency and cost reduction. This study tries to find analytical method of inventory management. It includes ordering decision which decide how much to order and when to order. Setting these strategies including deciding safety inventory, input and ouput variability are able to controled.

Developing Response Plan for the Direct Buying System for SME's Construction Materials based on the Analysis of Material Procurement Management Load: Focused on the Owner Providing Public Apartment Housing (지급자재 조달관리부담 평가에 기초한 중소기업 공사용자재 직접구매제도 대응방안: 공공아파트를 공급하는 발주자를 중심으로)

  • The Small and Medium Business Administration specified 123 construction materials mandatory to purchase directly and forced the public owners to provide the contractors with materials as required by related law. This study extensively reviewed various characteristics and management factors of the owner-providing materials consumed in the public apartment housing under Direct Buying System(DBS) from the public owner's perspective. Subsequently, the major managed materials were identified, and the proper response plan was developed along the material procurement process. The Procurement Management Load Indices (PMLI) of 43 materials were evaluated according to rating criteria with procurement path, project-specified level, user requirement level, supplier's responsibility, on-site work requirement, additional parts, and inspection standards. The tile and aluminum windows were classified in the group needing high-level procurement efforts to reduce the errors and ensure the efficiency. The accurate quantity estimation method, definite purchase details, management activity definition before and after production, additional quantity for rework, interference coordination were defined as the essential activities for effectively responding to DBS.

Improvement of the Code Classification Structure in Piping Material Management for Petrochemical Plant Projects (석유화학 플랜트의 효율적 배관자재 관리를 위한 코드분류체계 개선)

  • The objective of this study is to improve the classification structure of commodity code for piping material management which is considered as the fundamental of commodity code and piping material management system. It enhances the efficiency of piping material management directly or indirectly affecting the engineering, procurement and construction in a petrochemical plant projects. To establish an improved code classification structure, this study identifies the problems of former code classification structure in details, as well as the characteristics of other domestic and global EPC company's code classification structures and presents the improved direction considering the recently mega-sized and specialized projects. Accordingly, to efficiently enhance piping material management, the improved code classification structures have been derived from defining suitable code classification structure for specific piping component, adding more standard attribute, expanding the number of code digits and classifying code hierarchy. The results of applying the improved classification structure of commodity code to on-going project have led to reduce the rate of rework from 4.98% to 2.48% for developing purchase description and also have saved working time for executing piping design by 3D modeling from 6 months by two persons to 4 months by a person which is decreased 67% consequently. In addition, the structures of pyramid code management have resulted to accumulation and analysis of the various piping data for other disciplines such as procurement and estimation team which require commodity code information through the company's material control system.
