Relations of Consonant and Vowel knowledge with Korean Hangul reading among kindergartners (유치원 아동의 한글 읽기와 자모 지식과의 관계)

  • 본 연구는 단기종단연구로 4세와 5세 아동의 읽기, 받아쓰기와 자모 지식과의 관계를 연구하였다. 아동들을 시기 1에서 측정한 7개월 후에 다시 측정하였다. 회귀분석에서, 시기 1(T1)에 측정한 단어 읽기가 시기 2(T2)의 자음 이름과 자음 소리 지식을 예측하였다. 반면에 초성탈락, 숫자명명, 단어읽기가 모음 소리지식을 예측하였다. T2의 한글읽기를 예측하는 변인은 T1 한글읽기와 자음이름이었다. 반면에, 모음소리 지식과 초성탈락은 한글단어의 받아쓰기를 잘 예측할 수 있었다. 본 결과는 한글 자음과 모음 지식의 발달양식이 다르며, 이들이 한글읽기와 쓰기에 미치는 역할이 다른 것을 시사한다.

Handwritten Hangul Word Recognition from Small Vocabulary using Grapheme Combination Type (자모 결합 유형을 이용한 적은 어휘에서의 필기 한글 단어 인식)

  • 필기 단어 인식 방법에는 낱자별 분할 및 낱자 단위 인식을 통해 인식하는 방법과 단어 사전을 이용하여 단어와 영상을 직접 비교하는 방법이 있다. 이 중 후자는 인식 대상이 되는 단어들이 작은 수의 어휘로 제한되었을 대 매우 효과적이다. 본 논문에서는 입력 영상이 주어졌을 때 자모를 순차적으로 탐색하고 그 결과의 최적 조합을 찾아 인식하는 사전을 이용한 필기 한글 단어 인식 방법을 제안한다. 입력 영상은 사전의 각 단어와의 매칭을 통해 인식된다. 단어는 필기 순서로 정렬된 자모열로 표현하고 입력 영상은 획들의 집합으로 표현한다. 단어의 자모들은 입력 영상으로부터 추출된 획들의 집합으로부터 단계적으로 탐색된다. 각 단계에서는 전 단계까지의 매칭 상태와 탐색하려는 자모의 형태로부터 자모가 존재할 것이라고 기대되는 정합 기대 영역을 설정한 후 그 안에서 자모 탐색기를 이용해 자모를 찾는다. 자모 탐색기는 획들의 집합으로 이루어진 복수의 자모 후보와 그 점수를 출력한다. 각 단계마다 생성된 자모 후보들은 최적의 단어 매칭을 찾기 위한 탐색 공간을 이룬다. 본 연구에서는 단어 사전을 trie로 구성하고, 탐색 과정에서 dynamic programming을 이용하여 효과적으로 탐색을 수행하였다. 또한 인식 속도를 향상시키기 위해 산전 축소, 탐색 공간 축소 등 다양한 지식을 이용하였다. 제안하는 방법은 무제약으로 쓰여진 필기 단어도 인식 할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 동적 사전을 이용하기 때문에 사전의 내용이 변하는 환경에서도 적용할 수 있다. 인식 실험에서는 39개의 단어로 이루어진 사전에 대하여 613개의 단어 영상에 대해 실험한 결과 98.54%의 높은 인식률을 보임으로써 제안하는 방법이 매우 효과적임을 확인하였다. 아니라 곰팡이 균주도 실제 praxis에 적합하게 개발시킬수 있다. 따라서 앞으로 발효육제품제조에 있어 starter culture가 갖는 의미는 매우 중요하며 특히 짧은 숙성기간을 거치는 발효소시지의 제조에 있어서는 필수불가결한 공정의 한 분야로 자리잡게 될 것이다.큰 차이 없었으나 이중포장과 진공포장은 상당히 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.로는 18%에 비하여 22%가 더 적합한 것으로 생각되었다.$0.15{\sim}0.35%$이었다.irc}C$에서 $13.49{\times}10^{-3}$이었다. 이 값들을 Arrhenius식에 대입하여 구한 활성화 에너지는 24.795 kJ/Kmol이었다. 이 값으로부터 결정한 살균 포장약주 명가의 상용 저장 수명은 $10^{\circ}C$에서 2년, $20^{\circ}C$에서 1년 4개월, $25^{\circ}C$에서 1년 2개월 이었다. 서울의 매월 평균 온도를 기준으로 계산할 때 본제품의 상용저장기간은 1년 8개월이었다.로 반죽이 호화되고 가열시간이 그 이상으로 증가할 때도 반죽의 호화가 약간은 진행되지만 $90^{\circ}C$ 이상의 가열온도에서는 가열시간 0.5분 이내에 반죽의 호화가 급속히 일어나고 가열 시간을 증가시켜도 더이상의 호화는 일어나지 않았다. 같은 조건에서는 waxy corn starch 반죽의 호화 속도가 corn starch보다 더 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 대표적으로 52% 수분함량에서 반응속도상수(k)와 가열온도(T)사이의 관계식은 corn starch의 경우 $logk=11.1140-4.1226{\times}10^3(1/T)

Effects of Orthographic Knowledge and Phonological Awareness on Visual Word Decoding and Encoding in Children Aged 5-8 Years (5~8세 아동의 철자지식과 음운인식이 시각적 단어 해독과 부호화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the relation among orthographic knowledge, phonological awareness, and visual word decoding and encoding abilities. Children aged 5 to 8 years took letter knowledge test, phoneme-grapheme correspondence test, orthographic representation test(regular word and irregular word representation), phonological awareness test(word, syllable and phoneme awareness), word decoding test(regular word and irregular word reading) and word encoding test(regular word and irregular word dictation). The performances of all tasks were significantly different among groups, and there were positive correlations among the tasks. In the word decoding and encoding tests, the variables with the most predictive power were the letter knowledge ability and the orthographic representation ability. It was found that orthographic knowledge more influenced visual word decoding and encoding skills than phonological awareness at these ages.

남북공동 표준안과 향후 전망

  • 글쓴이는 1994년부터 1996년까지 3년 간에 걸쳐 이루어진 '코리안 컴퓨터처리 국제학술회의(ICCKL)'에서 한국대표로서 또는 한국 안을 마련하는 데 있어 나름대로 노력을 경주했다. 그 결과 남북한. 중국의 여러 학자들의 노력에 힘입어 전산용 자모순의 합의, 공동자 글쇠판 안의 마련, 전산 용어사전의 편찬과 부호계의 연구방향에 대하여 완전히 합의하는 성과를 얻었다. 이 합의안은 통일안이라기 보다는 권고 기준안이라는 명칭으로 불러야 한다. 비록 양국 정부대표들까지도 여러 가지 형태로 참석하였지만 정부간의 합의는 아니었기 때문이다. 그러나 합의 성과를 바탕으로 각각의 표준안을 반영토록 함으로써 궁극적으로는 남북이 통일안에 이를 수 있기 때문이다.

The Effects of Alphabet Knowledge on Korean Kindergarteners' Reading of Hangul Words (한글 자음과 모음에 대한 유아의 지식이 단어 읽기에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the causal relationship of kindergarteners' alphabet knowledge to their ability to read words, in connection with the features of the Korean alphabet 'Hangul'. A total of 289 children aged four to six from three kindergartens in Busan participated in the study. The main results are as follows. To begin with, the participants showed continuous development in the knowledge of consonant names, vowel sounds, the vowel stroke-adding principle, and the alphabet composition principle. Meanwhile, discontinuous development was found in the knowledge of consonant sounds and the consonant stroke-adding principle, which indicated that kindergartners could show differential speed in various sub-skills of literacy development. The kindergartners' naming of consonants developed before their recall of consonant sounds, and the knowledge of consonant sounds had an effect on the knowledge of vowel sounds. Children had difficulty in treating more complicated letters of the alphabet stroke-adding principle test, and eve syllables of the alphabet composition principle test. Most importantly, the children's alphabet knowledge was strongly related to their ability to read words written in Hangul, as kindergarteners with a greater knowledge of alphabet names, sounds, and principles were shown to read words better.

A Study on mothers' oral health knowledge and oral health management behavior of children (유아 어머니의 구강보건지식과 자녀의 구강관리행태)

  • Objectives : The study examined mothers' oral health knowledge and oral health management behavior to their children that affect directly children's oral health to prepare basic aiming at children. Methods : Therefore, a survey of 235 mothers in 10 kindergartens located in Seoul was conducted by self-administered questionnaires. Results : As to mothers' oral health knowledge, the correct-answer rate for questions about tooth-decay was highest, and the level of 'middle (5-7 points)' was the most common with 50.0%. Regarding oral health knowledge according to mothers' general characteristics, the higher academic background and family's monthly earnings were, the higher oral health knowledge was. It showed a statistically significant difference(p<.01). In terms of mothers' oral health management behavior to their children, 79.1% of mothers who had the visiting experience in the dentist's for caries prevention was highest. As to the number of brushing, the twice was highest with 51.2%, and regarding brushing time 2min was highest52.6%. Also, the rate of using the fluoride toothpaste was 68.4%, and the rate of mothers who helped their children's brushing was 83.3%. As to the oral health management behavior to their children by mothers' oral health knowledge, mothers with higher oral health knowledge used the fluoride toothpaste showing that there was a significant difference(p<.01). Also, mothers with higher oral health knowledge helped more children's brushing, so that there was a significant difference(p<.05). Regarding the oral health management behavior to their children according to mothers' visiting experience in the dentist's, mothers who visited the dentist's during the recent one year had higher visiting experience of dentist's for children's caries prevention(p<.01) and longer time of brushing by 3min(p<.05), and helped their children's brushing a lot. The findings showed a significant difference(p<.001). Conclusions : As the results above, as mothers' oral health knowledge and oral health management behaviors to their children affect closely children's oral health, more systematic, specific and active oral health programs should be provided to mothers.

Knowledge based Text to Facial Sequence Image System for Interaction of Lecturer and Learner in Cyber Universities (가상대학에서 교수자와 학습자간 상호작용을 위한 지식기반형 문자-얼굴동영상 변환 시스템)

  • In this paper, knowledge based text to facial sequence image system for interaction of lecturer and learner in cyber universities is studied. The system is defined by the synthesis of facial sequence image which is synchronized the lip according to the text information based on grammatical characteristic of hangul. For the implementation of the system, the transformation method that the text information is transformed into the phoneme code, the deformation rules of mouse shape which can be changed according to the code of phonemes, and the synthesis method of facial sequence image by using deformation rules of mouse shape are proposed. In the proposed method, all syllables of hangul are represented 10 principal mouse shape and 78 compound mouse shape according to the pronunciation characteristics of the basic consonants and vowels, and the characteristics of the articulation rules, respectively. To synthesize the real time facial sequence image able to realize the PC, the 88 mouth shape stored data base are used without the synthesis of mouse shape in each frame. To verify the validity of the proposed method the various synthesis of facial sequence image transformed from the text information is accomplished, and the system that can be applied the PC is implemented using the proposed method.

The historical change of children's education recognition by Chosun & Donga newspaper articles from 1920s to 1990s (신문기사에 나타난 자녀교육 인식 변천 -1920년대~1990년대 조선일보와 동아일보를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand how the perception and attitude in children's education have changed over the 20th century in South Korea by searching the newspaper articles. The modernization in 20th century brought radical changes in every aspect of Korean society including education. As an educational attitude and policies from the government changed, so did the tones reflected in the newspaper articles. To sum up, there were four (4) principal changes found from this study as follows;Firstly, parental involvement and role as an educator became more important in Korean society and huge generation gap arose in attitudes towards children's education and custody. Secondly, the traditional gender-based roles of mothers' with image of love and fathers' with strength disappeared and mothers' responsibility of children's education were more emphasized during 20th century. Meanwhile, today's society is calling for an immediate return of fathers' involvement and commitment to children's education in the household. Thirdly, as the overflow of information and knowledge in 20th society caused an excessive interest in children's education, there were rising demands for establishing proper views and ideas on children's education. Lastly, the responsibilities of children's education which had been laid on household was expanded to public and government, which can be seen from the fact that an educational support from the government was extended to the children of overseas Korean as well as those residing in Korea.
