방재에 있어서 화재의 초기감지가 얼마나 중요한 것인지를 우리는 잘 알고 있으나, 자동화재탐지설비에 대한 유지$\cdot$보수의 중요성에 대한 개념은 매우 미비하며, 이에 따른 연구도 빈약한 상태이다. 자동화재탐지설비는 건물내에 발생한 화재를 초기단계 즉 화재에 의하여 발생할 열 또는 연소생성물을 자동적으로 감지하고, 건물내의 관계자 및 거주자에게 음향장치에 의하여 화재의 발생을 알리는 설비이다. (중략)

This research is to provide a scheme for an automatic fire alarm system with higher reliability through solving problems of malfunctioning (false or missing fire alarm) and power interruption (result from frequently unwanted activation, etc) of an automatic fire alarm system. A digital control system with microprocessor-based is proposed to reduce the possibility of malfunctioning through a combinational use of heat, smoke and CO sensors. Higher reliability could be achieved by these multiple sensors based fire detection system and fire distinction algorithm. In this research, we implemented actual fire detection system and conducted fire test to verify improvement on reliability.

This paper proposes a new general-purpose automatic fire detection system. And it deals with the contents of related research on how to design and develop for this system. The proposed system automatically notifies the user and the nearby fire department when a fire breaks out in a place where a fire alarm is installed. If this is the case, the nearby fire department can quickly confirm this fact and extinguish the fire at an early stage, thereby reducing human and property damage. The main targets of this system are houses and small buildings. The proposed fire alarm functions as a conventional fire alarm, and if a fire occurs, this fact is immediately transmitted to a nearby receiver through wireless data communication. The receiver in this paper communicates data using Korea's firefighting communication frequency band, and establishes one own network by installing it in various places to quickly receive fire alarm data at any time.

The smart fire detection and automatic extinguish device interface platform based on thermal imaging camera that early monitors fire is designed and implemented in this paper. If a fire occurs in some area, the developed system can detect and automatically extinguish the fire. The major functions for developing the system are: Image system and Viewer for fire detection based on Thermal imaging camera and Megapixel camera; Automatic extinuish device for early fir detection; Interface platform between monitoring systems and automatic extinguish device.
