  • There are several improved designs of passive radar reflector available, but their performance is ultimately limited by the cross-section area and this is governed by the size of the buoy and the acceptable windage. Therefore it is needed to investigate the low-cost, low power, a active device that can be improve the reliability of response. Active Radar Reflector(AAR) consists of a microwave amplifier with separate receive and transmit antennas. It is a device which automatically transmits a signal in response to an interrogating signal received. It was intended to improve the consistency of the radar return from the buoy and the small craft, particularly in poor sea conditions. And it directly improves safety of navigation at sea.

  • Many ships' collision accidents occur due to unlawful action at sea. And also at shore traffic, many car collision accidents occur due to unlawful action. Therefore In this study we analyzes actual collision accidents at sea with the regards of liability. and search and analyze similar car collision accidents at shore traffic to compare it with the ship collision. In result, this study suggests the liabilities of the two different types accidents are needed to change more reasonable liability apportionment.

  • This paper deals with ship's track keeping methods which is crucial part of automatic navigation control systems. In this paper, we mainly discuss the performance of different guidance methods including way point guidance, enclosure-based steering guidance and lookahead-based steering guidance system. As a controller, a PID control system is employed to control ship's rudder angle during track-keeping. Finally, the performance of three methods are discussed through some simulation results.

  • By according to increase the research for autonomous vehicle in automobile industries, the efficient of autonomous cargo truck instead of conventional driver cargo truck will be analyzed in logistics areas. The inland transportation has been serious problem such as traffic accident, traffic congestion in downtown, air pollution, noise and etc. even if it have a great effect to logistics industries. Especially there have to be improved its transportation schedule and sleepy driving in night which induced heavy accident in highway. In this study, the effectiveness of autonomous cargo truck will be analysed by considering the logistics cost including social effects.

  • When an automatic course-keeping is concerned as is quite popular in modern navigation the closed-loop steering system consists of autopilot device power unit (or telemotor unit) steering gear magnetic or gyro compass and ship dynamics. The consideration of irregular disturbances to ship dyanmics and a few non-linear mechanisms involved in the system inevitably or artificially are known to be very important in properly evaluating or analyzing the automatic steering system. In the present study the mathematical model of each element of an automatic steering system is derived which takes account of a fex non-linear mechanisms. PD(Proportional-Derivative) controller and low-pass filter with a weather adjustment are adopted to modelling the characteristics of an autopilot. The calculation method of imposing irregular disturbances to ship dynamics is proposed where irregular disturbances implying irregular wave and the fluctuating component of wind. For he evaluation of automatic steering system of ships in the open seas an important term "performance index" is introduced from the viewpoint of energy saving which derived from the concept of energy loss on ship propulsion. Finally the present methods are applied to two typical types of ship ; an ore carrier and a fishing boat. The various effects of linear and/or non-linear control constants of autopilot on propulsive energy loss are investigated to validate and clarify the present smulation technique.

  • By the rapid expansion of containerization and intermodel transportation in international shipping since the 1970's, the larger containerships have emerged and concentrated their calls at a limitted number of ports. Moreover, large-scale container terminals have been built to accommodate the ever-larger containerships, and the mordernization of terminal facilities and many developments in information technology etc. have been brought out. Thus, unlimited competition has been imposed on every terminal with neighbouring ports in Japan, Singapore, Hongkong and Taiwan etc. The purpose of this study is invested to suggest how the container terminal operators cope with unlimited competition between local or foreign terminals. The results are suggested as follows : First, transshipment cargoes, which the added value is high, is to be induced. Second, the function of storage is given on On-Dock Yard. Third. Berth Pool Operation System is introduced, especially in Gamman Container Terminal and Kwangyang Container Terminal. Fourth, the cargo handling charges is decided by terminal operator.

  • This paper introduces a method that can get information for the movement of a spreader and skew in order to drive ALS(Automatic Landing System) in the crane used at the harbor. Some methods that use 3D laser scanner sensor or laser range finder to obtain the information in ALS are used presently. But these have some defects respectively in economical efficiency and performance. Therefore, to recover these defects, we propose a method acquiring the information for the movement of a spreader and skew using CCD camera for image processing and laser range finder

  • This paper suggests a method to design TSK(Takagi-Sugeno-Kang) fuzzy nonlinear control system for automatic steering system which contains the nonlinear component of ship's maneuvering equation. A TSk fuzzy model can be identified using input-output data and represent a nonlinear system very well. A TSK fuzzy controller can be designed systematically from a TSK fuzzy model because the consequent part of TSK fuzzy rule is a linear input-output equation having a constant term. Therefore, this paper suggests the method identifying the TSK fuzzy model and designing the TSK fuzzy controller based on the TSK fuzzy model for ship steering.

  • The ultimate target cf this study is to develop ship's Digital Compass that can substitute for conventional ship's Magnetic Compass. At first, a new Digital Compass system consisting of three-axis Flux-gate sensors and small sized step motor was developed Then, new deviation adjustment theory incorporating with Kalman filter method was proposed through which automatic deviation analysis and correction are obtainable without ship's swinging procedures. The effectiveness of developed Digital Compass and proposed deviation adjustment theory are verified throughout the performance evaluation tests on the training ship 'SAE-NU-RI'.

어선용 활어생명력 유지시스템 개발에 관한 연구

  • 중소형 어선은 연근해에서 조업 후, 살아있는 상태로 어류를 운반하기 위해서 선박 내에 어창을 구비하고 있다. 이러한 어창에 바닷물과 적당한 양의 산소가 공급되게 함으로써 어류가 활어상태로 유지될 수 있는 환경이 만들어지게 되고 신선한 상태로 운반할 수 있는 것이다. 하지만 이를 위해서는 어선에 많은 수의 산소통을 구비하여야만 어창에 충분한 양의 산소를 공급할 수 있고, 만약 산소통의 산소가 소진되는 경우는 다수의 산소통에 산소를 재충전해야 하는 어려움이 발생한다. 따라서 조업 준비에 있어 시간적 부담을 가중시키고, 재충전에 따른 비용부담도 큰 문제점이 되고 있다. 특히, 산소통의 관리가 미비할 경우에는 조업 중에 산소가 소진되는 상황이 발생할 수 있는데, 이때 활어의 폐사를 막기 위해서는 조업을 중단하고 귀항해야 하는 큰 불편이 생길 수밖에 없다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 충전식으로 사용하는 다수의 산소통을 구비할 필요 없이 어창에 산소를 무한 공급할 수 있는 활어 생명력유지 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 제안된 시스템의 특징은 어류의 생존환경 극대화를 위하여 산소와 폭기용 공기를 함께 공급하도록 하였으며, 편리한 사용을 위해 산소 온도가 자동으로 조절되도록 설계하였다.
