Manual and Automatic Steering System Using Pulley and Electrical Clutch for Manned and Unmanned Electric Vehicle (풀리 및 전자클러치를 이용한 유무인 전기자동차용 수동 및 자동조향장치)

  • In this paper, a manual and automatic steering system for electric vehicles capable of manned and unmanned driving is proposed. The automatic steering systems, EPS, MDPS, used in conventional engine based car includes the problem of handle lock phenomenon while driving of overloading, therefore it has a drawback to apply to manned and unmanned electric vehicles. By using electronic clutch and pulleys, the proposed manual and automatic steering mechanism was designed so that it is possible to convert from manual to automatic steering mode. To experiment the performance of the proposed steering system, we made an experimental setup of an electric vehicle. We confirmed that the proposed manual and automatic steering system was useful for manned and unmanned electric vehicles.

  • 자동차의 제동장치, 조향장치, 자동 변속장치 등에 요구되는 큰 힘을 얻기 위하여 유압식 구동장치가 중량당 출력비가 높고 응답특성이 좋으며 과부하에 대한 방지기능이 간단하게 이루어 진다는 장점이 있기 때문이다. 본 고에서는 우리나라에서도 전자제어식 제동장치, 조향장치, 자동변속장치, 현가장치 등의 개발을 시도하고 있는 현 시점에서 기술축적이 가장 취약한 분야라고 볼 수 있는 자동차용 전기유압밸브의 기본적인 메카니즘에 대하여 종합적으로 소개하고자 한다.

자동차 능동형 샤시시스템 개발동향

  • 일반적으로 자동차의 샤시(chassis)라 하면 총체적인 개념에서 자동차로부터 차체(body)를 제외한 부분을 일컫는데, 구동 및 제동장치, 바퀴 현가장치, 조향장치, 타이어 및 휠 등이 이에 속한다. 1970년대 마이크로 컴퓨터의 응용기술이 도입되면서 엔진분야에서 시작한 자동차 전자화기술은 구동 및 제동분야에서의 전자제어식 제동잠김 및 구동 미끄럼방지 시스템(ABS/TCS)의 응용기 술을 거쳐 1980년 중반부터 차량의 현가 및 조향분야에서 능동형의 시스템이 개발되기 시작하 였다. 그 대표적인 예로서 자동차용 적응식 및 반 능동식 가변댐퍼(variable damper), 능동식 현가시스템(active suspension system) 그리고 4륜조향 시스템(four wheel steering system)을 들 수 있다. 1990년대에 들어서는 이러한 각종 능동형 시스템이 종합적으로 고려되어 설계되는 이 른바 자동차의 샤시 통합제어 시스템(chassis integrated control system)또는 능동형 샤시 시스템 (active chassis system)으로 발전되어 가고 있는 추세에 있다. 이 글에서는 최근에 가장 대표 적인 능동형 샤시시스템으로서 각종 능동식 현가시스템 및 4륜조향 시스템의 개발동향 및 기 술적, 경제적인 측면에서의 종합적인 검토를 하고자 한다.

  • For high fuel economy, many kinds of unit in vehicle have been developed. In steering system, as a result, HPS(Hydraulic Power Steering) system has been replaced as EHPS and EPS system. But the structures of these systems are totally different, and that causes the uncertainty of fuel economy evaluation. Therefore we undertake to research to find results and tendency of fuel economy and energy in steering system. For accurate evaluation, we modeled different types of steering systems on same vehicle model. The simulation came into action on various driving cycle. The driving condition is designed to show standby power of pump. Results show differences of fuel efficiency and energy consumption.

  • Power steering systems far automobile are becoming ever more popular because they reduce steering efforts of the drivers, especially during parking lot maneuver. In this paper, the controller of the motor driven hydraulic power steering(MDHPS) has been designed and developed. This system uses a power source of DC motor instead of engine power source for power steering drive oil pump. The developed MDHPS system is accomplished a highly sensitive power steering resulted from electronic control under variable driving condition. Furthermore, this system is more improvement than type of engine driving far fuel economy.

  • Pressure ripple, vibration and noise level are measured in each parts of the power steering system. MD(Mahalanobis Distance) is calculated by using MTS(Mahalanobis Taguchi System) with measured data, and noise sensitive components are selected. The components applied detail design parameters are made and data is measured. After that MD is calculated also. Mean value and SN ratio can be obtained from the MD. Effective noise reduction technique and dominant design parameters in hydraulic power steering system are introduced.

  • All-wheel steering (AWS) system is applied to articulated vehicles to reduce turning radius. The swing-out suppression algorithm is applied to AWS ECU, a key component of AWS system. The swing-out suppression algorithm applied to AWS ECU has a problem when velocity of vehicle is changed. In this paper, new algorithm based on moving distance that solve velocity problem is proposed. The HILS simulation and the test articulated bus is used to validate algorithm.
