自動車 分野에서의 熔接技術 應用現況

  • 자동차 공업에서의 용접은 주로 차체조립공정에서 많은 사용되고 있으며 전기저항용접, ARC 용접, GAS용접등이 쓰이고 있지만 특히 전기저항용접의 SPOT WELDING이 그 대부분을 차 지하고 있다. 자사의 경우 AUTO GUN이나 ROBOT의 적용으로 차종에 따라 자동화가 거의 90%에 이르며 이 수치는 향후 더욱 증가 되리라 본다. 최근의 연비향상을 위한 경량화와 장 기방청성 요구추세에 따른 새로운 소재 즉 Al, 2층도금강판등의 채택에 따라 자사실정에 맞는 적합한 용접기술개발이 필요하다. 본론에서는 점용접의 검사 방법과 검사기준, 용접 신뢰성 확 보를 위한 제시도와 신소재 적용에 대응한 개발의 필요성, 용접 자동화등의 현황들을 자사를 중심으로 실례를 들어 소개하고자 한다.

A Study on the Stretch-flangeability of Hot-Rolled High Strength Steel with Ferrite-Bainite Duplex Microstructure (페라이트-베이나이트 복합조직 고강도 열연강판의 신장플랜지 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The effect of microstructures on the strength-flangeability of Nb bearing hot-rolled high strength steel was investigated in order to improve the strength-flangeability of conventional TS 580MPa grades HSLA steel for the automotive wheel disc. The low temperature coiling method using 3-step controlled cooling pattern after hot rolling was effective to produce the Nb-bearing high strength steel with the polygonal ferrite and bainite duplex microstructures. It was suggested that the suppressed precipitation of grain boundary cementites and the decreased hardness difference between ferrite matrix and bainite cause the excellent stretch-flangeability of ferrite-bainite duplex microstructure steel. Therefore, the formation and propagation of microcracks were suppressed relative to the conventional HSLA steel with ferrite and pearlite microstructure. In addition, the elongation was improved as compared with that of hot-rolled steel sheets using conventional early cooling pattern because the volume fraction of polygonal ferrite was increased.

  • In this study, the property of crack propagation and growth at high tension steel plate existed with center crack is investigated. The behaviors of fracture mechanics due to existence or not of hole near the center crack in specimen and the length of crack length are investigated when the load is applied at the one side end of specimen. Stress, deformation and deformation of this specimen are evaluated through simulation analysis. By the analysis results at this study, stress intensity factors are obtained. The damage happened at machine or structure with crack or defect can be estimated on the basis of study results.

  • In general, multi-lap spot weld joints are frequently present in automobile. Most research, however, has been focused on the single-lap spot weld joints until now. In this paper, tensile-shear strength tests are performed to examine the weldability of 3-lap spot joint welded by using the high strength steel sheet and the zinc coated steel sheet. The indentation depth and nugget diameter are used to propose the optimum welding conditions. The weldability is affected by the welding current and welding time for 3-lap spot joint. Meanwhile the expulsions is round to decrease with the increase of electrode force. The optimum welding conditions are presented for 3-lap spot joints of high strength steel sheet and zinc coated steel sheet.

Fatigue Life Evaluation of Spot Weldments of SPC Sheet Including Strain Rate Effect (변형률속도효과를 고려한 일반냉연강판 점용접부의 피로수명평가)

  • A methodology is described for predicting the fatigue life of the resistance spot weldment including strain rate effect. Because it is difficult to perform a physical failure test with high strain rate, an analytical method is necessary to get the mechanical properties of various strain rate, To this end, quasi-static tensile-shear tests at several strain rate were performed on spot weldments of SPC. These test provided the empirical data with the strain rate. With these results, we formulated the function of fatigue life prediction using the lethargy coefficient which is the global material property from tensile test. And, we predicted the fatigue life of spot weldment at dynamic strain rate. To confirm this method for fatigue life prediction, analytical results were compared with the experimental fatigue data.

The Optimization of Laser Welding Process for Electrical Steel Coil Joining Using the Taguchi Method (다구찌 방법을 이용하는 전기강판 코일 연결용 레이저 용접 공정의 최적화)

  • Laser welding has attracted great attention as a tool used to join electrical steel coils. In this study, laser butt welding for electrical steel coil joining was conducted using the Taguchi method. It was found that structural defects such as void sand cracks were not produced in welds. This indicated that the performance of laser welding in electrical steel was excellent. According to the Taguchi analysis, the total welding quality index (TWQI) considering the bead height and roughness and tensile strength of the weld joint was almost evenly affected by laser power, welding speed, and focal position. The optimum welding conditions to maximize the TWQI were a laser power of 1220W, welding speed of 90 mm/s, and a focal position of 1mm. The regress model predicting the TWQI was also developed using the surface response method. We found that the model predicts measured values with an average error of 16.36%.

A Study on the Corrosion Resistance of Hot Stamped Automotive Parts (자동차 열간 프레스 가공 부품의 내식성에 관한 연구)

  • The authors have studied on the corrosion resistance of the hot stamped steel sheets for the application to automotive parts. Recently automotive companies have focused on the hot stamped parts to meet the light weighting needs and the safe reason. Because of the cost reduction of the hot stamped parts, automotive companies increase the usage of the coated steel sheets, especially Al-Si coated steel sheets. The coated layer of Al-Si coated steel sheets contains up to 50% of Fe, which was diffused from the steel sheet, after hot stamping. The hot stamped steel sheet was not phosphated due to the oxidation layer of the coating, however, the result of the water resistance test is similar to that of the conventional GA steel sheets. The pitting depth and the weight reduction of the coated layer of hot stamped steel sheets are less than those of GA steel.

  • It is to be classified into friendly environment and safety problems, as a main technology development of the recent automotive industry. As these tendency, lots of automobile companies focus on a reduction of fuel expenses and strengthen of crash safety using high strength steel. In this study advanced technologies such as tailored blanks, aluminum extrusion and high strength steel forming applied to bumper beam will be described. As a result of impact analysis and an actual impact test, in terms of beam performance and a possibility fur the mass production will be discussed.
