Development of Lane Changing Model with regard to Safety Distance of Vehicles (차량간 안전거리를 고려한 차로변경 모형개발)

  • The conventional lane changing model has been developed without acceleration or deceleration of vehicles at target lane. Thus, existing lane changing models have limitation to apply in real world. In this paper, lane changing model considered acceleration or deceleration, and calculated the safety distance between subject vehicle and adjacent vehicles for lane changing as well. Simulation was conducted to verify the validity and the efficiency of the developed lane changing model in this paper. Several scenarios were carefully examined by safety distance between subject vehicle and adjacent vehicles. In the result, it was verified that if gap between subject vehicle and adjacent vehicles is larger than safety distance, lane changing behavior between subject vehicle and adjacent vehicles avoids collision. The suggested lane changing model may be applied at the future driver assistance system and advanced safety vehicle.

Analysis and Proposal for Mechatronics Education in South Korea (메카트로닉스 교육의 분석과 개선방향)

  • In this paper, mechatronics education in South Korea is analyzed and its improvement is proposed. For this purpose, discussion on the definition and evolution of mechatronics in South Korea, USA and EU is deployed first. It is revealed that most of the mechatronics education in USA and EU is remained in cross-disciplinary stage or curriculum stage, whereas that in South Korea is evolved to curriculum stage or organizational stage. The comparison of mechatronics curriculum between Korea and other countries and the problems of mechatronics education are included. The automation of machinery and factory plays one of major roles in mechatronics education in Korea, while mechatronics curriculum in USA and EU does not emphasize the automation. Mechatronics experiment in South Korea is organized to meet the National Qualification Test on mechatronics, and it is recommended to be more inventive. The way of improving the National Qualification Test of South Korea on mechatronics field is proposed. And, finally, efficient way of linking technical high school and university in mechatronics education is also proposed.

Development of O-Ring Measurement Systems of Muscular Meridians for objectification of Constitutional Diagnosis (체질 진단의 객관화를 위한 O-Ring 경근 계측시스템의 개발)

  • In this paper, the O-Ring Measurement System (O-R MS) has been designed to supplement such subectivity and apply to the diagnosis by constitution. A single chip microprocessor of Intel MCS-51 family has been used to control the O-R MS and process data with real time, and the O-R MS could measure the minute muscular strength, expanded width between fingers, and time of the measurement. Therefore the objective constitutional diagnosis is possible by the O-R MS. As a clinical testing for estimating credibility of O-R MS, the acupuncture points representing the constitution has been stimulated using a semiconductor laser stimulator and measure the muscular strength by the O-R MS. The result of clinical testing has been shown that the constitutional diagnosis with the O-R MS is proved highly precision of 96% and it is expected that the O-R MS can be used practically for the objective constitutional diagnosis.

  • The Sensor Network enables many distributed systems to be unmanned and automated by using of diverse sensors as well as wireless communication technologies. One of major enabling technologies for the sensor network is the USN middleware which plays the role of collecting and analyzing of measurements of sensors and controlling of the environments. The paper deals with the fungus cultivating environment based on Sensor Networks. Especially, we focus on the design of USN middleware for the embedded system, and explain how to design software architecture in terms of architectural patterns. In this design process, the improvement of methodology for pattern-oriented architecture design is proposed and the quality attributes for the architecture design is newly classified and suggested for the reference of software architecture design.

  • Under Ford system, corporations sought to maximize the economies of scale by raising the production efficiency. It aims to lower the production cost by increasing the quantity of output. But in the era of market flux and uncertainty, however, such strategies can no longer be sustained. Replacing the structures of Ford system, Toyota was able to accelerate the pace of process innovation and product innovation. Related to this innovation is JIT, new model development, modularization. The firm's reliance on flexible production technology provides opportunities to expand her production basis to foreign countries successfully. The main objective of this paper is to explore the contribution of process innovation to profit-capital ratio. The model is estimated using a time-series data of 18 years from 1990 to 2007 of auto production industry in korea. An Implication of this estimation shows that process innovation explains a significant portion of profit-capital ratio.

  • In this paper, we design the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Precompensator(ANFP) for the suppression of low-frequency oscillation and the improvement of system stability. Here, ANFP is designed to compensate the conventional Power System Stabilizer(PSS). This design technique has the structural merit that is easily implemented by adding ANFP to an existing PSS. Firstly, the Fuzzy Precompensator with Loaming ability is constructed and is directly learned from the input and output data of the generating unit. Because the ANFP has the property of learning, fuzzy rules and membership functions of the compensator can be automatically tuned by teaming algorithm Loaming is based on the minimization of the ems evaluated by comparing the output of the ANFP and a desired controller. Case studies show the 7posed schema can be provided the good damping of the power system over the wide range of operating conditions and improved dynamic performance of the system.

  • 날씨가 더운지방에 소규모(小規模) 목장(牧場)들이 먼거리를 두고 산재(散在)되어 있는 경우, 각목장(各牧場)에서 생산(生産)된 우유(牛乳)를 수집(收集)해서 처리공장(處理工場)까지 수송하는 데는 많은 어려움이 있다. 현대화(現代化)된 우유처리공장(牛乳處理工場)이나 저온저장시설이 충분(充分)하지 못한 아열대지방(亞熱帶地方)에 위치(位置)한 발전도상국에서는 우유(牛乳)를 장시간(長時間) 수집(收集)하여 먼거리를 수송하는 동안 많은 양(量)의 우유(牛乳)가 부패 손실(損失)되고 있다. 이 문제를 해결(解決)하기 위하여, 그곳 현지목장(現地牧場)에 강하게 쪼이는 태양열(太陽熱)을 이용(利用)하는 것은 대단히 바람직 하다. 에너지 절약이나, 우유(牛乳)의 부패손실(腐敗損失) 막기 위하여, 태양열(太陽熱)을 이용(利用)한 소규모우유처리기(小規模牛乳處理機)를 개발하여 현지목장(現地牧場)에서 직접(直接) 우유를 처리(處理)하여 인근주민에게 공급하는 것이 가장좋은 해결방법이라 판단하고, 그 실현가능성을 확인(確認)하기 위하여 실제로 태양열(太陽熱)우유처리기(處理機) 개발(開發)을 위한 그 모형(模型)의 회로구성(回路構成)을 고찰(考察)한 결과(結果) 다음과 같다. 1. 태양열(太陽熱) 우유처리기(牛乳處理機)의 모형(模型)은 다음 4개(個)의 회로(回路)로 구성(構成)되었다. 가. 우유(牛乳)순환 회로(回路) 나. 가열회로(加熱回路) 다. 예냉회로(豫冷回路) 라. 냉각회로(冷却回路) 2. 우유가열회로(牛乳加熱回路)는 태양열(太陽熱)을 이용(利用)하였으며 냉각회로(冷却回路)는 압축식 냉각기(冷却機)를 이용(利用)하였다. 3. 자동제어(自動制御)시스템을 장치(裝置)하여 태양강도변화(太陽强度變化)에 따른 우유처리량(牛乳處理量) 조절(調節)을 자동화(自動化)할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • In this paper, with the development of Information technology, application service between IT and traditional industry has been on the rise. And there are many on-going discussions actively regarding the Air quality system based on wireless sensor network which monitor and control the aircraft environment automatically and manually with the application service of detecting harmful gas. In this paper, operation program constitute the administrator monitoring device, which collects data from sensor node of wireless sensor network and sensor node and transmits environment information to display and server. Also for remote monitoring, user operation program constitutes based on PC/smartphone. Under this, the harmful gas which is made in aircraft life is measured. Real time monitoring system based on wireless sensor network is designed and realized.

  • Our country should continuously make efforts to secure the international competitiveness of the current domestic agriculture in a variety of industries converged with agriculture in order to get over the disaster due to global warming, cope with imported produces caused by FTA and scientific implementation technology provided by advanced countries like USA and European Union in spite of domestic agriculture advancement. Also, as domestic ICT technology is a world-class level, it is essential to make strategies of creating a high value such as the increase of productivity, efficiency and quality throughout the whole phase of production, circulation and consumption with the convergence of the existing agriculture technology and IT core technology including information management and automatic control. Therefore, this paper suggests standardization items which lead global standard and implementation direction on standardization through analysing the current situation of agriculture-ICT convergence in our country and technology/standardization trend.

  • As the usage of unmanned aerial vehicles expands, the development and the demand of related technologies are increasing. As the frequency of operation increases and the convenience of operation is emphasized, the importance of related autonomous flight technology is also highlighted. Establishing a path plan to reach the destination in autonomous flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle is important in guidance and control, and a technology for automatically generating path plan is required in order to maximize the effect of unmanned aerial vehicle. In this study, the optimization research of path planning using rapid-exploring random tree method was performed for increasing the effectiveness of autonomous operation. The path planning optimization method considering the characteristics of the unmanned aerial vehicle is proposed. In order to achieve indexes such as optimal distance, shortest time, and passage of mission points, the path planning was optimized in consideration of the mission goals and dynamic characteristics of the unmanned aerial vehicle. The proposed methods confirmed their applicability to the generation of path planning for unmanned aerial vehicles through performance verification for obstacle situations.
