This study was to develop a novel automatic system for measuring St$\ddot{o}$ckigt sizing degree and contact angle at a time. The conventional methods to measure sizing degree had serious problems in obtaining significant differences according to different dosages of a sizing agent, and moreover they disclosed unique limitation due to liquid types used and tester's subjectivity. However, the newly developed system could get reproducible results through total automation of all procedures including liquid dropping, image acquisition and measurement of both St$\ddot{o}$ckigt sizing degree and contact angle. For the St$\ddot{o}$ckigt sizing test, the automatic system could measure sizing degree with more definite differences according to different dosage of AKD, compared to the conventional method. For the contact angle test, the automatic system showed a similar trend to the conventional method but had smaller contact angles due to distortion of an image focus by a sheet curl than the conventional testing machine. The problem from the image out of focus due to specimen curl will be overcome with adopting a new specimen holder for the future system.

This study aims to develop techniques for generating Digital Elevation Model(DEM) from SPOT Computer Compatible Tape(CCT) data, so as to present an effective way of generation of DEM for large area. As the first phase of extracting ground heights from SPOT stereo digital data, the bundle adjustment technique was used to determine the satellite exterior orientation parameters. Because SPOT data has the characteristics of multiple perspective projection, exterior orientation Parameters were modelled as a function of scan lines. In the second phase, a normalized cross correlation matching technique was applied to search for the conjugate pixels ill stereo pairs. The preliminary study showed that the matching window size of 13$\times$13 was adequate. After image coordinates of the conjugate pixels were determined by the matching technique, the ground coordinates of the corresponding pixels were calculated by the space intersection method. Then DEM was generated by interpolations. In addtion an algorithm for the elimination of abnormal elevation was developed and applied. The algorithm was very effective to improve the accuracy of the generated DEM.

In this paper, we design and implement a graphical bio-ontology management system based on OWL(Web Ontology Language). It allows domain experts to easily manage sophisticated bio-ontologies in which biological knowledge is encoded. The knowledge can be seamlessly modeled into the ontology by well defined graphical notations, which capture most of subtle semantics inherently existing between biological terms. Our system provides a new construction mechanism, which can determine a considerable part of relationships between terms by their inheritance and inverse-inheritance. For keeping their semantics to be consistent, the mechanism supplies domain experts with information available from relationships being constructed or already constructed. The constructed ontology is basically formatted by OWL, which may benefit from its powerful semantic expressiveness. Additionally, it can be automatically translated into other standard languages without semantic loss, such as RDF/RDFS, DAML+OIL and so on. The main characteristics of our system is that it enables domain experts to delicately model the bio-ontology by the visualized construction mechanisms adopting well-defined graphical notations based on OWL.

Recently, the automobile industry is rapidly changing due to autonomous vehicles based on advanced ICT technology. As a result, studies related to autonomous vehicles have also been actively conducted. However, most studies are focusing on the autonomous driving technology so that the prediction of changes in road traffic safety and associated legal system due to the introduction of autonomous vehicles are lacking. The purpose of this study is to suggest improvement methods and priorities of road traffic safety projects according to the introduction of autonomous vehicles. As a result of the AHP analysis using the results of the questionnaire surveyed for autonomous driving car experts, it was analyzed that revision of the traffic safety inspection law and development of education system for autonomous driving motor drivers and operators should be given top priority.
When spring of the suspension is exerted by an external load, a car should be designed to prevent predictable damages and designed for a ride comfort. We used experiments design to design VON-MISES STRESS and K, a constant, of spring of suspension which is installed in a car as a goal level. We analyzed the result from Edison's Elastic - Plastic Analysis SW(CSD_EPLAST) by setting D, d, n as external diameter of coil, internal diameter of coil, the number of total coil respectively. The experiment design let the outcome be as Full-second order by using Box-Behnken which is one of response surface methods. Experimented and analyzed results based on the established experiments design, We found out design parameter which has desired VON-MISES STRESS and the constant K. Additionally, we predicted life time of when the external load was exerted by repeated load by using fatigue equation, and verification of plastic deformation has also been made. Additionally we interpreted a model, which is formed by optimized design parameter, with linear analysis and non-linear analysis, at the same time we also analyzed plastic deformation with the values from the both models. Finally, we predicted fatigue life of optimized model by using fatigue estimation theory and also evaluated a ride comfort with oscillation analysis.
There is a rapid increase in the use of digital video information in recent years. Especially, user requires the environment which retrieves video from passive access to active access, to be more efficiently. we need to implement video retrieval system including video parsing, clustering, and browsing to satisfy user's requirement. In this paper, we first divide video sequence to shots which are primary unit for automatic indexing, using a hybrid method with mixing histogram method and pixel-based method. After the shot boundaries are detected, corresponding key frames can be extracted. Key frames are very important portion because they help to understand overall contents of video. In this paper, we first analyze camera operation in video and then select different number of key frames depend on shot complexity. At last, we compose panorama images from shots which are containing panning or tilting in order to provide more useful and understandable browsing environment to users.
The current patent system is more often used for defensive purposes to exclude others' use or as a means to hold unfair strong positions in negotiations rather than for the original purpose as the dissemination and active use of useful technology. An injunction together with a damage is an important remedy for patent infringements. However, unlike a claim for damages, injunctions do not require the subjective requirement of intent and negligence or the occurrence of loss. If the validity of the patent and the fact of infringement are confirmed, automatically injunctions are issued without consideration of other circumstances. So a patent holder would exclude others' use and have a powerful position in negotiations because of injunctions for patent infringements. Therefore, those injunctions for patent infringements should be flexibly restricted according to cases under the premise to ensure fair compensation for the patent owner, rather than absolutely admitting injunctions for patent infringements like now. If then, it would serve the use of a useful technology and industrial development as the purpose of the patent system. First of all, judgments for preliminary injunctions should be strict and by deliberate decision on the merits permanent injunctions should be determined. In addition, it is needed that court's discretion possible to considerate 'the need for an injunction'. When the courts judge 'the need for an injunction', 'whether a patent holder has implemented a patent invention, the possibility of monetary compensation and the ability of the infringer for damages, a patent holder's intent to license and whether an injunction has been used as a weapon of negotiation, the proportion of patent technology in the entire products, the characteristics of patent technology and the possibility of patent invalidity, the competitive relationship for market share, the public interests and gains and losses between the parties and so on' should be considered. After these judgements, if 'the need for an injunction' is not approved, a patent owner would be protected by post-monetary compensation. However, because damages are related to illegal conducts in the past, in the case that an injunction is restrained, measures to ensure the legal implementation in the future are needed. It is primarily desirable that reasonable royalty is estimated throughout private negotiations between parties, but if agreement between the parties does not occur, patent owner should be able to claim the royalty for future.

Purpose: $[^{18}F]$Fallypride plays an effective radiotracer for the study of dopamine $D_2/D_3$ receptor occupancy, neuropsychiatric disorders and aging in humans. This tracer has the potential for clinical use, but automated labeling efficiency showed low radiochemical yields about 5~20% with relatively long labelling time of fluorine-18. In present study, we describe an improved automatic synthesis of [$^{18}F$]Fallypride using different base concentration for routine clinical use. Materials and Methods: Fully automated synthetic process of [$^{18}F$]Fallypride was perform using the TracerLab $FX_{FN}$ synthesizer under various labeling conditions and tosyl-fallypride was used as a precursor. [$^{18}F$]Fluoride was extracted with various concentration of $K_{2.2.2.}/K_2CO_3$ from $^{18}O$-enriched water trapped on the ion exchange cartridge. After azeotropic drying, the labeling reaction proceeded in $CH_3CN$ at $100^{\circ}C$ for 10 or 30 min. The reaction mixture was purified by reverse phase HPLC and collected organic solution was exchanged by tc-18 Sep-Pak for the clinically available solution. Results: The optimal labeling condition of [$^{18}F$]Fallypride in the automatic production was that 2 mg of tosyl-fallypride in acetonitrile (1 mL) was incubated at $100^{\circ}C$ for 10 min with $K_{2.2.2.}/K_2CO_3$ (11/0.8 mg). [$^{18}F$]Fallypride was obtained with high radiochemical yield about $66{\pm}1.4%$ (decay-corrected, n=28) within $51{\pm}1.2$ min including HPLC purification and solid-phase purification for the final formulation. Conclusion: [$^{18}F$]Fallypride was prepared with a significantly improved radiochemical yield with high specific activity and shorten synthetic time. In addition, this automated procedure provides the high reproducibility with no synthesis failures (n=28).
A fully automatic and computationally efficient method is proposed for intelligent display of soccer video on small multimedia mobile devices. The rapid progress of the multimedia signal processing has contributed to the extensive use of multimedia devices with a small LCD panel. With these emerging small mobile devices, the video sequences captured for standard- or HDTV broadcasting may give the small-display-viewers uncomfortable experiences in understanding what is happening in a scene. For instance, in a soccer video sequence taken by a long-shot camera technique, the tiny objects (e.g., soccer ball and players) may not be clearly viewed on the small LCD panel. Thus, an intelligent display technique is needed for small-display-viewers. To this end, one of the key technologies is to determine region of interest (ROI), which is a part of the scene that viewers pay more attention to than other regions. In this paper, the focus is on soccer video display for mobile devices. Instead of taking visual saliency into account, we take domain-specific approach to exploit the characteristics of the soccer video. The proposed scheme includes three modules; ground color learning, shot classification, and ROI determination. The experimental results show the propose scheme is capable of intelligent video display on mobile devices.
The recent progress in multimedia signal processing and transmission technologies has contributed to the extensive use of multimedia devices to watch sports games with small LCD panel. However, the most of video sequences are captured for normal viewing on standard TV or HDTV, for cost reasons, merely resized and delivered without additional editing. This may give the small-display-viewers uncomfortable experiences in understanding what is happening in a scene. For instance, in a soccer video sequence taken by a long-shot camera techniques, the tiny objects (e.g., soccer ball and players) may not be clearly viewed on the small LCD panel. Moreover, it is also difficult to recognize the contents of the scorebox which contains the elapsed time and scores. This renuires intelligent display technique to provide small-display-viewers with better experience. To this end, one of the key technologies is to determine region of interest (ROI) and display the magnified ROI on the screen, where ROI is a part of the scene that viewers pay more attention to than other regions. Examples include a region surrounding a ball in long-shot and a scorebox located in the comer of each frame. In this paper, we propose a scheme for raising viewing experiences of multimedia mobile device users. Instead of taking generic approaches utilizing visually salient features for extraction of ROI in a scene, we take domain-specific approach to exploit unique attributes of the soccer video. The proposed scheme consists of two modules: ROI determination and scorebox extraction. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme offers useful tools for intelligent video display on multimedia mobile devices.
