  • Recently, universities are being requested to educate a wider range of technical and social skills in order to respond to the government's policy for promoting youth employment and the industrial demand arising from social changes. Accordingly, field practice at universities is being further strengthened. It is important to analyze whether the work experience and information that students gained through field practice can improve their confidence in their career path, and can serve as a motive for not only employment but also start-up after graduation. In this study, the motivational aspect which leads to action by improving students' confidence in their career path is investigated. In addition, the influence of field practice experience on employability and entrepreneurial intention is also analyzed by setting a self-directed career attitude as a variables. The results of this study are as follows. First, the field practice experience of college students has a significant effect on employability, but does not directly affect their entrepreneurial intention. Second, it is confirmed that the higher the self-directed career attitude of students with experience of field practice has a positive (+) effect on the employability. Third, the higher the self-directed career attitude has also a positive (+) effect on entrepreneurial intention. This study shows the influence of field practice on employability and entrepreneurial intention beyond the limit of the existing research that was divided into employment and start-up. Theoretical basis for analyzing whether universities can achieve practical results simultaneously in government policy for employment and start-up is also provided.

  • This study is to find the weaknesses in drug dose calculations of nursing students by analyzing their general characteristics, confidence(C), performances in classes(PC) and exam sheets of drug dose calculations. The data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. There was no significant difference between male and female students in simple calculation ability(SCA), but male students' mean scores were higher in applied calculation ability(ACA) and accuracy on calculation(AC). There were no significant differences in calculation abilities according to high school departments. And students were weak in questions which are needed ACA. The explanation rate of C on PC and PC on AC were 4.2% and 3.2% respectively, so there were weak positive effects from C to PC, and PC to AC. This study suggests that there is a need to develop and implement an intervention program according to students' abilities to increase AC, C, and PC by studying math on an ongoing basis. This study needs to be cautious in generalizing, because the data set was limited to nursing students from one university.

  • The goal of this study is to examine the impact of self-esteem, self-efficacy, and attributional disposition on communication apprehension in college students. The research problems were verified by correlation analysis and multivariate regression analysis. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 239 college students. The findings are as follows: First, the higher level group in the self-esteem and self-efficacy have lower communication apprehension scores than the lower level group. Particularly, it is found that self-confidence in self-efficacy variables has the greatest effect on communication apprehension. Second, college students with high internal attributional disposition tend to feel less communication apprehension, while college students with high other's attributional disposition and accidental attributional disposition tend to have higher communication apprehension. • The current study examined the effects of the type and context of self-talk on task performance, task-post emotion, and perceived stress. Participants were 100 undergraduates in Busan. Participants were randomly assigned to one of four the experimental groups that were set by combining the narrative condition (the first-person versus non-first-person) to the content condition (self-reinforcing versus self-critic) to measure their pre and post intervention responses. For the analysis, we performed two-ways analysis of variance using the difference value of dependent variables comparing the pre and post-intervention. As a result of the analysis, we found that content condition of self-talk significantly influenced task performance, task-related confidence, emotion response, and perceived stress. That is, the self-reinforcement self-talk group showed better performance, higher task-related confidence, more positive emotion, lower negative emotion and less perceived stress than the self-critic self-talk group. The contents conditions of self-talk interacted with the narrative condition of self-talk to predict perceived stress, indicating that only non-first person/self-reinforceing self-talk group showed reduced levels of perceived stress.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of health related departments' self-efficacy on stress-coping strategies by setting up grade and sex as regulating variables and figure out their mediating effects. To attain the goal, a survey was conducted to 1,442 undergraduates attending S University, and the results went through analysis by using SPSS and AMOS. To sum up the study results, preference of difficult project exerted negative effects on avoidance-centeredness. Self confidence had negative effects on avoidance-centeredness. Self-regulating efficacy indicated positive effects on social support-orientation and problem solving-centeredness while avoidance-centeredness showed negative effects. Regarding effects among self-efficacy's subfactors, confidence, self-regulating efficacy, and preference for task difficulty, and stress-coping strategies' subfactors, social support-orientation, problem solving-centeredness, and avoidance-centeredness, there was difference found in the model by grade, but there was no difference found by sex.

  • The purpose of this study was to study the performance of volunteer work for the elderly from the perspective of self-efficacy and self-extension of the elderly, not from successful aging or productive aging. Through this, the research aims to confirm the expansion of internal growth and self-sufficiency that can occur in old age, and to provide an opportunity to re-examine one's life in old age. In order to verify the purpose of this research, questionnaires were distributed to 300 senior citizens who participated in volunteer activities at the City Hall and the District Office of Busan Metropolitan City over a period of three months from September to November 2018 and used the data from 266 questionnaires for the study, excluding the 34questionnaire answered unfaithfully. The results of the study are as follows. First, the motivation for volunteering activities (value function, social function, understanding function) of the elderly has a positive effect on self-efficacy. Second, the motivation for volunteering activities (value functions, social functions, understanding functions) have a positive effect on self-extension. Third, it has been shown that the elderly's sense of self-efficacy (self-regulation efficacy, confidence) has a positive effect on their self-extension. Fourth, it was found that self-efficacy has a mediated effect on the motivation of the elderly to participate in volunteer activities and the relationship of self-extension. This study identified the relevance of the motivation for volunteering activities of the elderly to influence their effectiveness and self-extension. In particular, the research suggests practical and policy measures for the revitalization of volunteer activities of the elderly by providing a new perspective on the welfare of the elderly by utilizing parameters of self-efficacy, a psychological and social concept for the elderly.
