Effect of Combined Superabsorbent Polymers and Expansion Agent on Shrinkage Behavior of High Strength Mortar (고흡수성수지와 팽창재 동시 혼입 시 고강도 모르타르의 수축거동에 미치는 영향)

  • Superabsorbent polymers(SAPs) are powdery material that absorb water several tens or hundreds of times its own mass. It has been reported that when SAPs are incorporated into a high strength cementitious material, the autogenous shrinkage of the material is reduced. Cross-linked sodium polyacrylate type SAPs are relatively safe for human body and low in production cost. In order to apply this type of SAPs to the admixture for total(plastic+autogenous+drying) shrinkage reduction of high strength mortar, the shrinkage behavior of mortar when an expansion agent(EA) and SAPs were mixed together was analyzed. As a result, it was found that the shrinkage was reduced when an EA 5% (mass % of cement) and SAPs 0.4% were mixed together than the mortar containing only an EA 10%. The shrinkage was further reduced when EA 10% and SAPs 0.4% were incorporated into mortar.

  • 건설기술과 산업의 발전에 따라 구조물은 대형화되어 가고, 건설공사의 급격한 팽창으로 골재 수용량이 급증함에 따라 천연골재자원은 점차 부족현상을 면치 못할 처지에 있다. 또한, 무리한 천연골재의 채취는 자연환경을 훼손시킬 뿐만 아니라 자연보호 측면에서도 심각한 공해문제로 대두되고 있어 공급량 부족현상은 날로 심화되고 있다. 이에 세계 몇몇 나라에세는 산업부산물을 이용한 골재 생산으로 공해예방과 폐기물 활용방법을 연구하고 있다. 산업부산물중 플라이 애쉬 생산량은 전 세계적으로 매년 약 2억여톤에 달하고 있으나 이중 일부만 활용되고 있는 실정이다. 이와같은 부산물을 활용하기 위한 일환으로 산업부산물인 PFA(Pulverized Fuel Ash)로 만든 인공경량골재의 년생산량이 영국은 600,000$m^3$, 미국은 300,000$m^3$이며, 매년 증가주세에 있다. 고성능 경량골재 콘크리트는 단위중량의 증가없이 내구성과 강도를 향상시켜 실용화 측면에서 경제적인 효과가 있으며, 플라이 애쉬로 만든 경량골재는 시멘트와의 친화력이나 접착면에서 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 시험에 사용한 골재는 플라이 애쉬로 만든 인공경량 조골재와 강모래이고, 결합제로서 프틀랜드 시멘트를 사용하였다. 부수적인 결합재로서는 플라이 애쉬, 슬래그, 실리카 흄을 사용하였으며, 고성능 경량골재 콘크리트를 개발코자 재령 28일과 180일의 압축강도가 각각 50MPa와 60MPa가 되도록 배합설계를 하였다. 본 연구에서는 플라이 애쉬, 슬래그, 시리카 흄과 같은 산업부산물을 혼입했을때 경량골재 콘크리트의 압축강도, 휨강도, 동탄성계수, 공극체적, 공극률, 단위중량, 공극 크기별 분포등의 변화를 실험적으로 구명하여 재반 구조용 콘크리트에 활용하기 위한 기초자료를 마련코저 한다.있어 특정한 발육단계의 난포 사망기전을 연구하기 어렵다. 또한 난포는 생체 내에서 다양한 호르몬을 동시에 분비하기 때문에 특정한 난소국부호르몬이 사망기전에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 힘든 점이 있다. 최근 들어 난포체외배양이 다양하게 개발되면서, 이러한 어려운 점을 극복할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문은 각 발육단계의 난포를 절단해 체외배양하면서, apoptosis DNA 절단 현상을 이용하여 각종 난소국부 호르몬들이 난포발육단계별로 사망기전에 미치는 영향을 요약해 보였다. 난포는 발육하면서 점차 복잡한 호르몬 경로를 생존을 위해 필요로 한다. Prevulatory난포생존에 필요한 난소국부호르몬들은 early antral 단계의 난포에서는 그 미치는 영향이 감소되다가 preantral단계의 난포에서는 영향을 전혀 미치지 못했다. 단지 예외는 cGMP처리로써, 세포내 cGMP수준을 일정하게 유지시켜주는 것이 난포발육단계에 무관하게 생존에 중요한 인자로, 장래 연구는 난포 세포내의 cGMP수준을 조절하는 기작을 규명하는데 있을 것이다.인정되지 않았다. 7. 농지보전 처리구인 배수구와 초생수로구는 비처리구에 비해 낮은 침두 유출량과 낮은 토양유실량을 나타내었다.구보다 14% 절감되는 것으로 나타났다.작용하는 것으로 사료된다.된다.정량 분석한 결과이다. 시편의 조성은 33.6 at% U, 66.4 at% O의 결과를 얻었다. 산화물 핵연료의 표면 관찰 및 정량 분석 시험시 시편 표면을 전도성 물질로 증착시키지 않고, Silver Paint 에 시편을 접착하는 방법으로도 만족한 시험 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.째, 회복기 중에 일어나는 입자들의 유입은 자기폭풍의 지속시간을 연장시키는 경향을 보이며 큰 자기폭풍일수록 현저했다. 주상에서 관측된 이러한 특성은 서브스톰 확장기 활동이 자기폭풍의 발달과 밀접한 관계가

  • We report an unusual case of osteoblastoma in the distal fibula in a 32-year-old man. Radiographs showed a ballooning lesion with internal trabeculation. MR images demonstrated a lobulated expanding lesion of central heterogeneous low signal intensity with enhancement. Curettage specimen was composed of abundant thick, pink osteoid without mineralization. The osteoid seams were lined by plump osteoblasts and a few giant cells. Focally, a fine unmineralized lace-like osteoid was seen.

  • The authoring systems for digital contents using multimedia technologies ate requested in many fields such as education, medical science, entertainment market e-commerce and etc. Especially, the emergence of cyber universities and the rapid expansion of on-line education market require the effective contents authoring systems, which have various functions to generate the qualified contents. Therefore, many systems arc developed and currently used. However, since the developed systems considered only the developer's convenience, the generated digital contents by using these systems are failed to draw tile users'(or learners') active interaction with contents. That is, since the users just watch the contents like watching a drama or a film, it causes many problems in delivering the contents effectively or in evaluating the users. This paper presents, develops, and implements the new contents authoring system by using programing languages and/or software tools. The presented, developed, and implemented system mimics the face-to-face education in off-line system, induces the users' active interaction with contents, and continuous evaluation to the users.

  • This paper study about the Perception of Orient in Huangseong-Shinmun(皇城新聞). The Orient as a Non-Western is recognized as a geographical concept which represented Japanized culture and which breaked up Sinocentrism. Huangseong-Shinmun thought Korea, China, and Japan as the main countries which constitute Orient. And this paper regarded these three countries which is Yellow race are main area which countervail Western. Especially this paper thought Japan as the leading power which fulfilled Oriental peace. So Huangseong-Shinmun theorized nations of the same race, region and language(同種同州同文論). But Orientalism is just means which Japan used to rationalized the imperialistic invasion. Nevertheless Huangseong-Shinmun thought that periods are the era of racial competition. This is the limit Huangseong-Shinmun did'nt recognize the strategy which Japan concealed the imperialistic invasion.

DRAG EFFECT OF KOMPSAT-1 DURING STRONG SOLAR AND GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY (강한 태양 및 지자기 활동 기간 중에 아리랑 위성 1호(KOMPSAT-1)의 궤도 변화)

  • In this paper, we analyze the orbital variation of the Korea Multi-Purpose SATellite-1(KOMPSAT-1) in a strong space environment due to satellite drag by solar and geomagnetic activities. The satellite drag usually occurs slowly, but becomes serious satellite drag when the space environment suddenly changes via strong solar activity like a big flare eruption or coronal mass ejections(CMEs). Especially, KOMPSAT-1 as a low earth orbit satellite has a distinct increase of the drag acceleration by the variations of atmospheric friction. We consider factors of solar activity to have serious effects on the satellite drag from two points of view. One is an effect of high energy radiation when the flare occurs in the Sun. This radiation heats and expands the upper atmosphere of the Earth as the number of neutral particles is suddenly increased. The other is an effect of Joule and precipitating particle heating caused by current of plasma and precipitation of particles during geomagnetic storms by CMEs. It also affects the density of neutral particles by heating the upper atmo-sphere. We investigate the satellite drag acceleration associated with the two factors for five events selected based on solar and geomagnetic data from 2001 to 2002. The major results can be summarized as follows. First, the drag acceleration started to increase with solar EUV radiation with the best cross-correlation (r = 0.92) for 1 day delayed F10.7. Second, the drag acceleration and Dst index have similar patterns when the geomagnetic storm is dominant and the drag acceleration abruptly increases during the strong geomagnetic storm. Third, the background variation of the drag accelerations is governed by the solar radiation, while their short term (less than a day) variations is governed by geomagnetic storms.

  • The water level of a steam generator of pressurized light water nuclear Power generator is known as a subject whose control is difficult because of a shrinking and swelling effect that is been mutually contradictory in a variation of feed water. In this paper, a neural network model selects first coordinative controller by a inappropriate gain of two PI controllers and the selected controller's gain is tuned by a fuzzy self-tuner. Model inputs consist of the water level, the feed water, and the stream flow. One controller of both coupling controllers whose gain is handled firstly is decided based upon above data. The proposed method can analyze patterns of signals using the characteristic of neural networks and select one controller that needs to be tuned through the observed result in this paper. If one controller between both the water level controller and the feed water controller is selected by the neural network model then a gain of the PI controller is suitably tuned by the fuzzy self-tuner. Rules of the fuzzy self-tuner drew from the pattern of input and output data. In the summary, the goal of this Paper is to select the suitable controller and tune the control gain of the selected controller suitably through such two processes.

Detection and Analysis of the Liver Area and Liver Tumors in CT Scans (CT 영상에서의 간 영역과 간 종양 추출 및 분석)

  • In Korea, hepatoma is the thirdly frequent cause of death from cancer occupying 17.2% among the whole deaths from cancer and the rate of death from hepatoma comes to about 21's persons per one-hundred thousand ones. This paper proposes an automatic method for the extraction of areas being suspicious as hepatoma from a CT scan and evaluates the availability as an auxiliary tool for the diagnosis of hepatoma. For detecting tumors in the internal of the liver from CT scans, first, an area of the liver is extracted from about $45{\sim}50's$ CT scans obtained by scanning in 2.5-mm intervals starting from the lower part of the chest. In the extraction of an area of the liver, after unconcerned areas outside of the ribs being removed, areas of the internal organs are separated and enlarged by using intensity information of the CT scan. The area of the liver is extracted among separated areas by using information on position and morphology of the liver. Since hepatoma is a hypervascular turner, the area corresponding to hepatoma appears more brightly than the surroundings in contrast-enhancement CT scans, and when hepatoma shows expansile growth, the area has a spherical shape. So, for the extraction of areas of hepatoma, areas being brighter than the surroundings and globe-shaped are selected as candidate ones in an area of the liver, and then, areas appearing at the same position in successive CT scans among the candidates are discriminated as hepatoma. For the performance evaluation of the proposed method, experiment results obtained by applying the proposed method to CT scans were compared with the diagnoses by radiologists. The evaluation results showed that all areas of the liver and liver tumors were extracted exactly and the proposed method has a high availability as an auxiliary diagnosis tools for the discrimination of liver tumors.

Property of tow Shrinkage High Performance Concrete depending on Mixture Proportions and Material Characteristics (배합 및 재료요인에 따른 저수축 고성능 콘크리트의 품질 특성)

  • In this paper, effects of mixture proportion and material condition on both fundamental properties, drying and autogenous shrinkage of high performance concrete are discussed. According to the results, for the effect of mixture proportion on the fundamental properties, decrease in W/B and unit water content results in reduction of fluidity, while air content has no variation. Compressive strength exhibits an decreasing tendency with an increase in W/B and unit water content do not remarkable affect the compressive strength. For the effect of materials on the fluidity, the fluidity of low heat portland cement(LPC) is smaller than that of ordinary portland cement(OPC). The use of Polycarbonic acid based superplasticizer(PS) has more favorable effect on enhancing fluidity than Naphtalene based superplasticlzer(NS) and Melamine based superplasticizer(MS). Air content of concrete using LPC is larger than that using OPC. The effects of superplasticizer type on the air content is larger in order of MS, PS and NS. The use of LPC exhibited lower strength development at early age than OPC, whereas after 91days, similar level of compressive strength is achieved regardless of cement type. Compressive strength of concrete is not affected by SP type. For the effect of mixture proportion and materials on drying and autogenous shrinkage, an increase in W/B results in reduction of drying shrinkage and an decrease in water content leads to reduce drying shrinkage. Autogenous shrinkage is not observed until 49 days with the concrete mixture with $35\%$ of W/B and $145 kg/m^3$ of water content. This is due to the combination effects of expansion admixture and shrinkage reducing admixture, which causes an offset of autogenous shrinkage. The use of LPC results in a reduction in autogenous shrinkage compared with OPC. SP type has little influence on the autogenous shrinkage. It is found from the results that mixture proportioning of high performance concrete incorporating fly ash, silica fume, expansion admixture and shrinkage reducing admixture is need to focus on the increase in W/B and the reduction in water content and the use of LPC and MS is also required to use to secure the stability against shrinkage properties.

Implicit Distinction of the Race Underlying the Perception of Faces by Event-Related fMRI (Event-related 기능적 MRI 영상을 통한 얼굴인식과정에서 수반되는 무의식적인 인종구별)

  • A few studies have shown that the function of fusiform face area is selectively involved in the perception of faces including a race difference. We investigated the neural substrates of the face-selective region called fusiform face area in the ventral occipital-temporal cortex and same-race memory superiority in the fusiform face area by the event-related fMRI. In our fMRI study, subjects (Oriental-Korean) performed the implicit distinction of the race while they consciously made familiar-judgments, regardless of whether they considered a face as Oriental-Korean or European-American. For race distinction as an implicit task, the fusiform face areas (FFA) and the right parahippocampal gyrus had a greater response to the presentation of Oriental-Korean faces than for the European-American faces, but in the conscious race distinction between Oriental-Korean and European-American faces, there was no significant difference observed in the FFA. These results suggest that different activation in the fusiform regions and right parahippocampal gyrus resulting from superiority of same-race memory could have implicitly taken place by the physiological processes of face recognition.
