Analysis of Optimum Bias for Maximun Conversion Gain of Cascode Coupled Microwave Self-Oscillating-Mixer (Cascode 결합 마이크로파 자기발진 믹서의 최적변환이득을 위한 바이어스 조건 분석)

  • In this paper, We analyze the optimum bias conditions of cascode coupled microwave mixer for maximum conversion gain mixer. Microwave self-oscillating mixer by two GaAs MESFET cascode coupled, to upper GaAs MESFET operating as a oscillator with high Q dielectric resonator and the lower GaAs MESFET operated as a mixer with low noise and high conversion characteristics. As a result of experiments, cascode coupled microwave self oscillating mixer according to optimun bias shows an 5.92 dBm oscillating power, -132.0dBc/Hz @ 100KHz at 5.15GHz and 3dB conversion loss.

Gaussian Noise Reduction Algorithm using Self-similarity (자기 유사성을 이용한 가우시안 노이즈 제거 알고리즘)

  • Most of natural images have a special property, what is called self-similarity, which is the basis of fractal image coding. Even though an image has local stationarity in several homogeneous regions, it is generally non-stationarysignal, especially in edge region. This is the main reason that poor results are induced in linear techniques. In order to overcome the difficulty we propose a non-linear technique using self-similarity in the image. In our work, an image is classified into stationary and non-stationary region with respect to sample variance. In case of stationary region, do-noising is performed as simply averaging of its neighborhoods. However, if the region is non-stationary region, stationalization is conducted as make a set of center pixels by similarity matching with respect to bMSE(block Mean Square Error). And then do-nosing is performed by Gaussian weighted averaging of center pixels of similar blocks, because the set of center pixels of similar blocks can be regarded as nearly stationary. The true image value is estimated by weighted average of the elements of the set. The experimental results show that our method has better performance and smaller variance than other methods as estimator.

Design of the fast adaptive digital filter for canceling the noise in the frequency domain (주파수 영역에서 잡음 제거를 위한 고속 적응 디지털 필터 설계)

  • This paper presents the high speed noise reduction processing system using the modified discrete fourier transform(MDFT) on the frequency domain. The proposed filter uses the linear prediction coefficients of the adaptive line enhance(ALE) method based on the Sign algorithm The signals with a random noise tracking performance are examined through computer simulations. It is confirmed that the fast adaptive digital filter is realized by the high speed adaptive noise reduction(HANR) algorithm with rapid convergence on the frequency domain(FD).

  • 의료영상의 분할은 의료영상을 컴퓨터 진단 및 가시화에 필요한 같은 성질을 가진 여러 조직으로 나누어주는 방법이다. 즉 입력되어진 영상을 처리하여 유사한 화소들의 집합인 영역들로 화소들을 구분하는 작업이며 영상분할의 결과는 영상인식의 정확성에 큰 영향을 미친다. MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging)으로부터 정상적인 세포조직 또는 뇌종양과 같은 비정상적인 세포조직의 가시화와 분석을 위해서는 대상 세포조직의 적절한 분류를 필요로 한다. 하지만 기존의 영역 검출 방법으로는 잡음이 섞여 있는 영상에서 여러 가지의 처리과정(주로 잡음 제거)이 필수적이고 그런 과정으로 인해 정확한 영역 검출이 힘들게 된다. 이에 잡음이 있더라도 이를 제거하기 위한 처리가 필요 없이 영역기반으로 필요한 파라미터의 추정을 통한 MRF(Markov Random Field)를 이용하여 보다 효율적이고 정확하게 MRI에서 질환 영역을 검출할 수 있다.

  • 목적: RF Birdcage Resonator는 그것의 높은 자장 균질성과 신호 대 잡음비의 특성이 좋음으로 인해 MRI와 MRS 연구에 보편적으로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 인체를 비롯한 동물실험을 위한 다양한 실험대상에 따라 코일의 크기를 예측하여 Birdcage Resonator를 개발하였다. unloaded와 loaded 상태에서의 전기적인 성향을 Lumped Element Circuit Theory를 따라 일반적인 분석을 하였을 뿐 아니라 실제적인 실험을 통한 분석도 하였다.

  • An integrated process control (IPC) procedure is a scheme which simultaneously applies the engineering control procedure (EPC) and statistical control procedure (SPC) techniques to reduce the variation of a process. In the IPC procedure, the observed deviations are monitored during the process where adjustments are repeatedly done by its controller. Because the effects of the noise, the special cause, and the adjustment are mixed, the use and properties of the SPC procedure for the out-of-control process are complicated. This paper considers efficiency of EWMA charts for detecting special causes in an ARMA(1,1) noise model with a minimum mean squared error adjustment policy. And we propose the readjustment procedure after having a true signal. This procedure can be considered when the elimination of the special cause is not practically possible.

Improved generalized cross correlation-phase transform based time delay estimation by frequency domain autocorrelation (주파수영역 자기상관에 의한 위상 변환 일반 상호 상관 시간 지연 추정기 성능 개선)

  • There are several methods for estimating the time delay between incoming signals to two sensors. Among them, the GCC-PHAT (Generalized Cross Correlation-Phase Transform) method, which estimates the relative delay from the signal whitening and the cross-correlation between the different signal inputs to the two sensors, is a traditionally well known method for achieving stable performance. In this paper, we have identified a part of GCC-PHAT that can improve the periodicity. Also, we apply the auto-correlation method that is widely used as a method to improve the periodicity. Comparing the proposed method with the GCC-PHAT method, we show that the proposed method improves the mean square error performance by 5 dB ~ 15 dB at the SNR above 0 dB for white Gaussian signal source and also show that the method improves the mean square error performance up to 15 dB at the SNR above 2 dB for the color signal source.

  • Magnetotelluric data recorded in the middle part of the Korean Peninsula are contaminated by severe noises at dead-band frequencies. In this study, we estimated the location of noise source using a source localization method. Since conventional beamforming techniques were not adequate for the localization of electromagnetic sources, we used the matched field processing and a genetic algorithm. The solutions for the strong noise signals tend to be localized in a narrow area, whereas those for natural MT signals shows randomly distributed patterns. The strong noise sources are mainly located in the western part of Kyonggi-do.

High-resolution MR Imaging of Carotid Atherosclerotic Plaques (경동맥 경화판의 고해상도 자기공명영상)

  • High-resolution carotid MRI allows visualization of carotid atherosclerotic plaque characteristics. MRI serves as a noninvasive option for the detection of active plaque inflammation and intraplaque hemorrhage. Significant gains in signal-tonoise ratio and contrast-to-noise ratio can be obtained for carotid atheroma imaging at 3T compared with 1.5T. Normalized wall index or wall area on MRI has shown its efficacy in monitoring the response after medical therapy. $T(2)^*$ quantification in carotid plaques before and after the administration of ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide particles shows difference in response to treatment according to drug doses. In conclusion, high-resolution MRI is useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of carotid atherosclerotic plaques prone to transient ischemic attack and stroke.

Noise Removal of Images Using the Median Rule Cellular Automata (미디안 규칙을 갖는 셀룰러 오토마타를 이용한 영상의 잡음제거)

  • In this paper we propose a noise reduction algorithm which based on cellular automata with the local median rule. It is supposed that there is no information about the features of the image that must be improved. The proposed method behavior is to locally increase or decrease the gray level differences of the image without loss of the main characteristics of the image. The dynamical behavior of these automata is completely determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. We have found that the automata present very fast convergence to fixed points, stability in front of random noisy images. Based on the experimental results we discuss the advantage and efficiency.
