The Evaluation of Mechanical Property of WC-8%Co Alloys by Coercive Force and Magnetic Saturation (항자력과 자기포화도에 의한 WC-8%Co 초경합금의 기계적 성질 평가)

  • The prediction of mechanical properties for WC-Co alloys by evaluation of coercive force and magnetic saturation were studied in relation to their microstructure. The WC-8%Co alloys were prepared using different WC particle size, carbon content and various sintering temperature by PM process. The magnetic properties such as coercive force and magnetic saturation of sintered WC-Co alloys were critically dependent upon their final composition and microstructure. Slight changes of carbon contents and small variation of WC grain size result in marked changes of magnetic properties, hardness and transverse rupture strength of sintered WC-Co alloys. It was found that the coercive force and hardness were increased by fine WC grain size of sinterd alloys, and the coercive force was proportional to hardness. With decreasing total carbon content below the stoichiometric value in WC-8%Co alloys the volume fraction of $\eta$ phase increased steadily, while the magnetic saturation and transverse rupture strength decreased. The magnetic saturation was inversely proportional to the coercive force of WC-Co alloys.

Structural, Magnetic and Magneto-Optical Properties of Substituted Ba Ferrite Films Grown by RF Sputtering (스퍼터법으로 제조한 이온 치환 Ba 훼라이트 박막의 구조 및 자기적, 자기광학적 성질)

  • Structural, magnetic and magneto-optical(1.0~3.2eV) properties of rare earth (Ce, Pr, Eu), transition metal(Ni, Co), and Al substituted polycrystalline Ba ferrite films grown by rf sputtering have been investigated. TEM studies revealed that crystal grains in the films were reduced in size from several hundred nm to the order of 1 nm with the decrease of rf power density during sputtering. By substituting Al, square hysteresis loops have successfully been obtained. It has been found that Niions strongly enhances Faraday rotation of the films in the visible range. It has been confirmed that Co ions also strongly enhances Faraday rotation of the films in the near infrared. En- hancement in Faraday rotation by Ce, Pr, and Eu ions has not been observed. The origin of the enhancement in magnetic and magneto-optical properties of the films is discussed.

  • This paper considers we consider the estimation of copula parameters based on residuals in stochastic regression models. We prove that a semiparametric estimator using residual empirical distributions is consistent under some conditions and apply the results to the copula-ARMA model. We provide simulation results for illustration.

  • Rare earth-aluminum intermetallic compounds $RAI_{2}$ (R ; Lu, Ce, Gd) are prepared by the arc-melt method and the magnetic properties and electronic structures are investigated by magnetic susceptiptibiliy measurements using SQUID magnetometer. The magnetic suceptibiliyof $LuAl_{2}$ is weakly temperature dependent and shows a Pauli susceptibility of $10.1{\times}10^{-5}$ emu/mol, which means 3.2 states/eV/formula unit. On the other hand, the susceptibility data of $CeAl_{2}$ and $GdAl_{2}$ show a Curie-Weiss behavior for paramagnets. The magnetization data at low temperatures confirm that $CeAl_{2}$ undergoes an antiferromagnetic phase transition near 4 K whereas $GdAl_{2}$ a ferromagnetic transition at 170 K. The distinctive magnetic behaviors of $RAI_{2}$ originate from the different 4f band filling.

  • 크롬-몰리브덴 강종들은 고온에서 우수한 기계적 성질을 나타내기 때문에 에너지 변환설비 및 압력용기 등에 폭넓게 사용되고 있다. 그러나 고온에서 장시간 사용됨에 따라 입계에 탄화물의 형성 및 조대화, 용질원자의 결핍, 불순물의 편석 등 미세조직의 변화에 의해 초기의 우수한 기계적 성질이 저하되는 경년열화 현상이 나타나고 있다. 따라서, 이들 대형기기 및 구조물의 보다 신뢰성 있는 품질보증과 정기적인 가동 중 검사가 요구되어지고 있다. (중략)

  • Mn((Cu0.66AI0.34)1-x(Bi0.3Sb0.7)x) 및 Mn((Fe0.66AI0.34)1-x(Bi0.3Sb0.7)x) 합금계의 상의 변화와 자기적 특성을 조사하였다. Mn((Cu, SI)(Bi, Sb)) 합금계는 Bi상, MnSb상, MnBi상, k-상, Heuser상, Mn2Sb 및 $\beta$-Mn상의 혼합상으로 이루어졌으며 x가 증가함에 따라 Bi상과 Mn2Sb상이 증가하고 K-상, Heusler상 및 $\beta$-Mn상이 줄어들거나 사라졌다. 자기적 성질은 자성을 띄는 MnSb상, MnBi상, Mn2Sb상, k-상 및 Hseusler상과 비자성인 Bi상과 $\beta$-Mn상의 상대적 분율에 의해 결정됨을 알 수 있었고, 150K-200K 부근에서 그 이하로 온도가 감소함에 따라 자화값이 급격히 감소하는 현상이 나타났다. Mn((Fe, AI)(Bi, Sb))합금계는 Bi상, MnSb상, MnBi상, MnBi상,$\beta$-Mn상, k-상 및 Mn2Sb상의 혼합상으로 나타났으며, 자기적 성질은 조사한 전 조성에서 강자성을 띄고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Magenetic Properties of Nd-Fe-B-Co-based Melt-spun Ribbons an dTheir Bonded Magents (Nd-Fe-B-Co계 급냉리본과 Bond 자석의 자기적 성질)

  • Abstract Co-and/or AI-added Nd-Fe-B-based magnetic alloys were fabricated by using vacuum induction melting frunace, and melt-spun ribbons were made of the magnetic alloys with single roll rapid quenching method. The variation of magnetic properties of the melt-spun ribbons as a function of Cuwheel velocity (Vs) were investigated. Bonded magnets were made of the optimally quenched ribbon fragments, and the magnetic properties of the melt-spun ribbons and the bonded magnets were studied, relating to the microstructure and crystalline structure. Cu-wheel surface velocity had a strong effect on the magnetic properties of the melt-spun ribbons, and the maximum properties were obtained around Vs =20m/sec. The optimally quenched ribbon had a cellura-type microstructure, in which fine N$d_2$F$e_14$B grains were surrounded by thin Nd-rich phase. In case of a 2.1at% AI-added melt-spun ribbon, the magnetic properties were as follows: iHc, Br, and (BH)max were 15.5KOe, 7.8KG and 8.5MGOe respectively. And resin bonded magnets were fabricated by mixing optimally quenched ribbon fragments with 2.5wt % polyamide resin, compacting and binding at room temperature. The iHc, Br and (BH)max of bonded magnet were lO.2KOe, 4.4KG and 3.3MGOe respectively. And hot-pressed magnets were made by pressing the overquenched ribbons at high temperature. The magnetic properties of hot-pressed magnets were better than those of bonded magnets, and when the holding time was 8 minutes, the iHc, Br, and (BH)max of the hot-pressed magnet were 1O.8KOe, 7.3KG and 8.0MGOe respectively. Domain structure was mainly maze pattern, which means that the easy magnetization axis could be aligned, and the domain width of the hot-pressed magnets was smaller than that of bonded magnets.
