  • The role of positive psychological capital of an organizational member on organization effectiveness has received serious attention from researchers. However, the previous research has focused mainly on the direct effect of positive psychological capital on organization effectiveness, not paying enough attention on a mediating or a moderating role in their relationship. The purpose of this study is to finding out relationship between employees' positive psychological capital and job satisfaction, organizational commitment and the mediating role of positive emotion. Based on advanced literature, we regard positive psychological capital as four factors, self-efficacy, hope, optimism and resilience. We tested the proposed relationships using date from 350 employees in Chinese firms. The main finding are as follows: First, self-efficacy, hope, optimism, resilience has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment, job satisfaction and positive emotion. Secondly, self-efficacy, hope, optimism, resilience influence directly and indirectly on organizational commitment, job satisfaction. Positive affect plays a mediating role between variables.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether authentic leadership influenced positive psychological capital and change-oriented organizational citizenship behavior(CO-OCB) in airline service context. Moreover, this study was designed to test the mediating effect of positive psychological capital between authentic leadership and CO-OCB to provide fundamental and practical information for airline industry. A convenience sample of 390 flight attendants was surveyed and a total of 377 usable questionnaires were analyzed. Then hypotheses were tested using structural equation modelling(SEM). The results were as follows. Firstly, authentic leadership was divided into 'self-awarenese', 'relational transparency', internalized moral perspective' and 'balanced process'. Secondly, 'self-awarenese' and 'internalized moral perspective' influenced positive psychological capital. Thirdly, positive psychological capital influenced CO-OCB. Fourtjly, positive psychological capital had mediating effects partially between authentic leadership and CO-OCB.

A Study on the Recovery Process of Career Capital for Rehabilitation Protection Recipient (법무보호대상자의 진로자본 회복과정에 관한 연구)

  • It is necessary for inmates released from prison to recover their career capital in order to function normally in society. Failure to adapt to the society may not only make them unhappy but could also aggravate social safety nets. Therefore, it is critical to examine the recovery of career capital. For this study, we conducted in-depth interviews of 10 rehabilitation recipients who were supported by Korea Rehabilitation Agency. For qualitative analysis, several career topics were analyzed, such as obstacles in recovering career capital, efforts in overcoming these obstacles, what is helpful for them to overcome the obstacles and what is required for them to adapt to the career life and others. Analysis results found that the rehabilitation beneficiaries suffered loses to their career capital due to their incarceration, suffered from the loss of pride and became despondent in the process of recovery of career capital due to the negative social perception toward their social self, fear of social stigma and devaluation of themselves. In addition, the fear of possible negative evaluation was a critical factor in making their social activities more challenging. Conversely, it was found that social support in the recovery process of career capital has a positive effect. In particular, emotional support from spouses, employers, family members and friends are the most positive factors. Concerning efforts at adapting to careers, it was found that an active, leading and positive attitude toward the career were critical, showing that positive evaluation and recognition in family and social relations and the experience of success in the career were positive elements in enhancing a sense of pride. In summary, it was found that in the recovery process of career capital, dysfunctional beliefs had a negative effect, while social support had a positive effect, on the recovery of career capital.

The Effect of Baby Boomer's Self-Efficacy, Social Capital, and Economic Preparation on Entrepreneurial Intention (베이비부머의 자기효능감, 사회적 자본, 경제적 준비도가 창업의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is about entrepreneurial intention of baby boomers who started retirement, starting with the second phase of life. A research model was constructed focusing on factors that will affect the entrepreneurial intention of baby boomers. In order to test the study model, a questionnaire was surveyed on baby boomers, and among them, 204 people, which was valid, was used for analysis. The hypothesis test was a structural equation model using the AMOS 23 statistical package. As a result of the hypothesis test, self-efficacy and social capital had a positive (+) relationship with entrepreneurial intention. Economic preparation was found to have a significant negative (-) relationship with entrepreneurial intention. Social capital was found to have the most influence on baby boomers' entrepreneurial intention. On the other hand, achievement experience and role model learning experience were the antecedent variables affecting self-efficacy. As a result of testing their relationship, achievement experience and role model learning experience had a significant positive (+) influence on self-efficacy. Based on the research results, academic and practical implications were presented.

Volatility by the level of interest rate and RBC (금리수준별 금리변동성과 위험기준 자기자본제도)

  • In this paper, we show that there is a positive correlation between the level and the volatility of interest rate and thus suggest that a proper interest rate volatility coefficient (IRVC), a factor used in evaluating the interest rate risk that insurers are exposed to, should be chosen in accordance with the level of interest rate. To this end, we calculate the historical volatility of interest rate using data on government bond yields and show a proportionate relationship between interest rate and historical volatility. The review of exponential Vasicek (EV) and Cox-Ingersoll-Ross (CIR) models for interest rate also confirms the positive correlation between them. The estimation of IRVC by EV and CIR models are 0.9 and 1.1, respectively, which are much smaller than the one under the current risk-based capital (RBC) requirement. We provide modified IRVCs reflecting the level of interest by the two interest rate models. Using modified IRVCs can be a more reasonable method to evaluate the interest rate risk that insurers face.

고려개발(주)E-construction 사례와 향후 추진현황소개

  • 요즘 매스컴에서 건설회사 도산 및 부실 등에 대한 보도가 많아지고 있다. 98년 말부터 우려해 오던 건설산업 구조조정이 한창 진행 중에 있으며, 2000년 7월말 현재 100대 건설사중 37개사가 법정관리, 화의, 워크아웃 상태이며, 이후 대형건설업체의 계속되는 부도 등 부실화로 인한 퇴출이 더욱 가속되고 있는 상황이다. 이렇게 건설 회사들이 부실화가 된 원인을 살펴보면, 공사 발주물량은 97년 대비 70{\%}대에 머물고 있는 반면 건설업체 수는 오히려 $60{\%} 정도 증가해 업체별 평균 수주액이 급감하였고, 이에 따라 업체들의 과당 출혈 경쟁으로 수익성이 악화되고 말았다. 그러나 이러한 건설업의 어려운 환경에서도 고려개발(주)는 2000년 당기순이익 176억원 등 ‘89년 이후 12년 동안 순익을 내고 있으며, IMF가 한창이던 98년부터 2000년까지 약 1조2천억원의 수주고를 달성하였다. 또한 2000년 부채비율 $146{\%}$, 자기자본비율 $41{\%}$, 자기자본순이익율 $14{\%}$로 선진건설업체 수준의 재무비율을 확보하여 경영평가 1위를 차지하고 있다. 이러한 원인을 고려개발(주)는 건설산업의 구조조정에서 살아남을 수 있는 해결책은 정보화라고 판단하여 지난 ’95년부터 꾸준히 사내 정보화 정착에 전력하고 있다.

An analysis of Financial Factors' Characteristic for Global Shipping Companies using Panel Regression Analysis (패널회귀분석을 이용한 글로벌 선사의 재무요인 특성분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study performed Panel Regression Analysis (PRA) with the debt ratio as a dependent variable and the ROE (return on equity), sales volume, current ratio, total capital, and Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) as an independent variable. According to the GLS analysis, the current ratio to liabilities ratio was negative, and for sales, the ratio of liabilities was positive. Capital totals also had a negative impact on the debt ratio. However, ROE, unlike the hypothesis, had negative effects on the liability ratio, and the SCFI index was not significant. As implications of this research, the company confirmed that its sales increased as the debt ratio of global shipping companies rose, achieving economies of scale. However, it was confirmed that the actual size of the economy through the injection of other capital would help increase sales but not affect net profit. Shipping companies should expand their business power and secure large container vessels to secure credibility of shippers. In the future research, an analysis considering exchange rate, global economic growth rate, and manufacturing production index is needed.

Business Growth Strategy with Asset Backed Short Term Bond for Overseas IPP Opportunities (자산담보부 단기사채를 활용한 해외발전사업 수주확대방안)

  • This study is about whether the new Project Finance scheme called "Asset Backed Short Term Bond(ABSTB)" with Project Finance Guarantee Cover provided by Korean Exim Bank(KEXIM) is an appropriate and valid financing structure, through close examinations on domestic and overseas IPP case studies. This study clearly indicates that (i) the interest rate of ABSTB with KEXIM's Project Finance Guarantee is relatively more competitive than the interest rate of other ABSTB guaranteed by EPC Companies (ii) the lower credit rated EPC companies make higher ROE(Return on Equity) through this financing structure. Lastly, Korean EPC Companies can secure profitability through this innovative financing scheme which will also lead to winning more power plant Contracts and become globally competitive.

An Empirical Study of the Determinant Factors of Banking Efficiency of China (중국 은행효율성의 결정요인에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • After entering into the WTO in October, 2001, China started opening her bank industry on a full scale and her financial markets from the end of 2006. It is true that the Chinese commercial banks should make efforts to enhance their operational efficiency for adapting the rapid change of financial environments. In this paper, the efficiency of 4 Chinese state-owned commercial banks and 11 share holding commercial banks has been estimated. Our Tobit model to find out the determinants of these banks' efficiency. The results are as follows: The efficiency of these banks kept being improved from 1999 to 2003. With regard to the relationship between the determinants and the bank efficiency, their capital ratios, ownership structures and government subsidies are significant at the 5% level while the return on asset(ROA) is significant at the 10% level. The relationship between the determinants and the efficiency has showed that the size, capital ratios, ROA and ownership structure showed significantly before the entry to WTO, on the other hand, after WTO their capital ratios are the only factor to determine their efficiencies.

  • 지난 2004년 6월 24일에 공표된 신BIS 자기자본규제제도에 의거 회원국 은행들에 대한 체계적인 위험관리가 강화되는 상황에서 우리나라도 2009년부터 모든 은행이 신BIS기준을 도입및 적용할 예정이다. 신BIS협약은 운영리스크(부적절한 내부절차, 직원, 시스템)에 대해서도 리스크를 측정하여 은행의 소요 자기자본에 반영토록 하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구자는 은행의 조직환경 변수들이 조직유효성에 영향을 미치고 이들이 또한 내부통제절차의 상시 유효성에 영향을 미치는 지 알아보기 위하여 국내 소재 은행원들을 대상으로 실증분석함으로써 은행들이 효율적인 내부통제를 통해 금융사고를 미연에 방지하고 은행자산의 건전성에 기여하기 위한 지침을 제시하는 관점에서 연구를 진행하였다. 연구결과, 연구모형에서 예상한 바와 같이 조직환경이 내부통제유효성에 직접적으로 영향을 미치지만 조직몰입도나 집단응집력과 같은 조직유효성을 매개로 하여 내부통제유효성에 더욱더 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이러한 점에 비추어 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 은행내 중간관리자의 성향에 따라 개별조직 구성원들의 행동양식이나 가치관에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 현실을 감안하여 장기적인 안목에서 양질의 리더십, 조직문화 그리고 분위기 등 조직환경을 리드해 나갈 수 있도록 관리자들에 대한 교육훈련 및 소양교육을 지속적으로 펼쳐나가는 것이 중요하다고 본다.
