A study on the characteristics of cast iron made by continuous cast iron for the parts of the rotary pump (진공 펌프용 부품에 적용한 연속 주조봉 주철의 특성연구)

  • 진공부품에 사용되고 있는 재료는 여러 가지 있으나 회주철품은 진동 감쇄 및 흡진성이 우수하여 소음 발생이 적고, 조직 중에 흑연이 존재하므로 주강에 비하여 자기윤활작용이 있으며, 말차계수가 적어 마찰면의 면입이 높은 경우에도 소손 등의 이상 마멸현상이 적어 진공펌프, 내연기관, 공작 기계등과 같이 강인성과 내마멸성을 요구하는 부품에 많이 이용되어 왔다, 이 회주철도 대별하면 여러 종류가 있고, 진공 펌프용 재질은 주로 회주철 중에 ASTM A형으로 도면에 명기되어 있다. 따라서 본 제품을 개발하는 과정중에 연속 주조법으로 제조된 ASTM형이 기존의 재료에 비하여 내기밀성, 내마면성, 내피로성 및 기계적 성질등이 우수함을 확인하여본 재질로 개발하였고, 시험한 연구 결과를 발표하고자 한다. 실험은 ASTM A형으로 주조하기 위하여 용해된 용탕을 사형 주형에서 GC200으로 주조하고, ASTM D형은 D사의 연속 주조기에서 직경 30mm로 주조하였다. 이와 같이 주조된 사료를 일정한 크기로 시험편을 만들어 인장 강도, 경도, 피로한도, 피로성, 절삭성, 내유압성, 소입성과 내마멸성을 시험하였다.

  • 미래 정보와 시대에서 중추적인 역할을 할 광관련 멀티미디어 장비들은 최근 관련 산업계에서 주목을 받기 시작하고 있고 특히 기존 VTR(Video Tape Recorder) 시장을 대체할 차세대 DVDR(Digital Video Disk Recorder)는 기술전쟁이라고 할 정도로 선진 기업의 연구가 치열해지고 있다. DVDR 시스템에서는 필요한 정보들을 레이저빔을 이용한 광학신호로 바꾸어 광디스크에 기록, 재생하는 광픽업이 절대적으로 필요하게 된다. 그런데 광픽업의 위치추종기구인 Actuator는 정확한 위치추종(.+-.1.$\mu$m 오차이내)을 할 수 있는 성능이 요구되며 서보의 특성상 20KHz 이하에서 불필요한 모우드가 가진되지 않는 정밀부품이어야 하므로 Actuator 각 부품의 동적인 특성을 명확히 규명할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우선 Actuator 각 부품과 가동부 전체의 중량 및 진동해석을 통해 동특성을 조사하였다. 그리고 Actuator의 중요한 기본성능중 하나인 구동감도 확보여부를 검토할 필요가 있기 때문에 유한요소법 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 자기회로 부분에 대한 해석을 구하였다. 또한 가동부와 자기회로 등 하위부품을 조립하는 과정에서 발생하는 조립오차로 인해 불필요한 공진과 회전형상이 야기될 수 있으므로 동특성 및 문제점 파악을 위한 민감도 분석이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가동부의 관성 모멘트 값과 강체에 대한 일반식을 이용한 자체 프로그램을 작성하여 조립공차를 구하였다. 이와같은 과정을 통해 구해진 설계값을 바탕으로 실제 제작된 Actuator에 대해서는 비접촉식 측정방법을 통해 동특성값을 측정하였고 이를 해석값과 상호 비교하였다.동강성행렬법(dynamic stiffness matrix method)을 이용하여 해석하고자 한다. 수준임이 입증되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로우리나라 젊고 건강한 남성에게 적합한 무게상수는 작업자군에 대하여 25.05kg, 학생군에 대하여 20.24kg 으로 나타나 이는 미국 NIOSH 안전기준과 대체로 일치함을 발견하였다.ive structures utilized in Client/server architecture for distribution and cooperative processing of application between server and client this study presents two different data management methods under the Client/server environment; one is "Remote Data Management Method" which uses file server or database server and. the other is "Distributed Data Management Method" using distributed database management system.   • An ultrasonic magnetostrictive transducer-based phased-array system for imaging defects in plate structures is newly proposed. In that most ultrasonic phased array systems rely on piezoelectric transducers or electromagnetic acoustic transducers, this system has its own unique feature of employing magnetostrictive transducers. Interest in using a phased array system using magnetostrictive transducers has been recently reported for pipe inspection but no such system has been developed for plate inspection. In this investigation, we aim to propose a phased array system using OL-MPTs (Omnidirectional Lamb wave Magnetostrictive Patch Transducers) for plate inspection. The developed system consists of a multi-channel function generator, power amplifiers, preamplifiers and a data acquisition unit. In the process of its development, each of the units must be checked and in doing so, we suggest types of ultrasonic wave experiments that should be carried out. Finally, the phased system using a transducer array composed of eight OL-MPTs is newly configured and is applied for actual crack detection experiments.

Developing Tuned Mass Damper of Adjustable Damping Type to Control the Vibrations of Medical Robots (의료용 로봇의 미진동제어를 위한 가변감쇠형 동조질량감쇠기 기술 개발)

  • Recently, the medical community has been enthusiastically welcoming robots that are able to provide high-quality medical services across the board, including assisting the surgeons during surgeries. In response, many higher education institutions and research facilities started to conduct various experiments and studies about these robots. During such research, it was discovered that the arm of one particular robot type that is being developed to assist surgeries are prone to vibrate even from the weakest impact, in addition to other residual vibration problems. We attempted to reduce such dynamic response by using a MF-TMD that is produced by adding magnetic fluid to ECD. We verified the MF-TMD's performance by testing it within various frequency bands and attenuations. We then designed a cantilever that was structurally similar to the robot's arm. We attached the MF-TMD to this cantilever and conducted a pilot experiment, which validated our hypothesis that MF-TMD will reduce the robot arm's vibrations through its optimal damping ratio. Henceforth, we attached the MF-TMD to the robot arm in question and conducted a performance experiment in which we tuned the MF-TMD's frequency and damping factor to its optimal level and measured the vibrations of the arm. The experiment demonstrated that the vibrations that occurred whenever the arms rotated were significantly reduced.

An Experimental Study on the Pump Operating Characteristics with Low Flow Operation (펌프의 저 유량 운전특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • For ASME Code pumps in nuclear power plants, inservice test is required to assess the operational readiness in accordance with ASME code and related regulations. The objective of this study therefore, is to develop the technical background of the degradation of pump performances and conditions due to low flow rate operation. In addition. the detection techniques of pump operating conditions are to be developed to enhance the safety and economy of nuclear power plants. A test loop consisted of pump, motor. water tank, flow rate measurements and piping system with flow control devices was established for this study. Two typical pumps, 1-stage volute pump and 3-stage turbine pump, were selected and the test was performed upon two major point of views ; i.e., pump discharge pressure pulsations analysis and pump vibration spectrum analysis. From the test results, it is concluded that (1) the pump vibration affected by the natural frequency of operating pump is significant in the low frequency zone (around 1 Hz) : the vibration amplitude. especially. is an important factor during low flow rate operation. and shall be monitored to ensure that it is within the limit of ASME OM code Part 6, (2) the vibration frequency and pump discharge pressure are affected by vane pass frequency and running speed, (3) the wave phenomena due to the compressiblity of water is anticipated during low flow rate operation. and the pump system shall be designed to prevent it and. finally, (4) the technical background of the degradation of pump performances and conditions due to low flow rate operation is provided.

Optimal Design of New Magnetorheological Mount for Diesel Engines of Ships (선박용 디젤엔진을 위한 새로운 MR 마운트의 최적설계)

  • This paper presents an optimal design of a magnetorheological(MR) fluid-based mount(MR mount) that can be used for to vibration control in diesel engines of ships. In this work, a mount that uses mixed-modes(squeeze mode, flow mode, and shear mode) is proposed and designed. To determine the actuating damping force of the MR mount required for efficient vibration control, the excitation force from a diesel engine is analyzed. In this analysis, a model of a V-type engine is considered. The relationship between the velocity and pressure of gas in terms of the torque acting on the piston is derived. Subsequently, by integrating the field-dependent rheological properties of commercially available MR fluid with the excitation force, the appropriate size of the MR mount is designed. In addition, to achieve the maximum actuating force under geometric constraints, design optimization is undertaken using the ANSYS parametric design language software. Through magnetic density analysis, optimal design parameters such as the bottom gap and radius of coil are determined.

Synthetic Phase Tuning Technique for the Transduction of a Specific Ultrasonic Torsional Mode in a Pipe (배관에서의 특정 비틀림 초음파 모드 송수신을 위한 합성 위상 조절 기법)

  • This study newly presents a synthetic phase tuning technique to suppress the unwanted torsional mode while enhancing the desired torsional mode in a pipe. Specifically, we aim at the enhancement of the first torsional mode and the suppression of the undesired, second torsional mode. Earlier efforts were to enhance the desired wave mode only in the hope that the enhancement results in the suppression of the unwanted wave mode. Unlike these efforts, the suggested technique makes the complete cancellation of the unwanted wave mode but it is shown to enhance the desired first mode for torsional wave problems. In the present study, the synthetic phase tuning is developed for the cancellation of the unwanted wave mode, meaning that the number of necessary experimental equipments is reduced. Simulation and experiment were carried out to check the effectiveness of the proposed method. As an application of the suggested technique, we investigated the reflection and mode conversion characteristics of the first torsional mode according to the step thickness variation in a stepped pipe.

  • This paper deals with sensing ability of smart sensor that has a sensing ability of distinguish materials. We have developed new signal processing method that have distinguish different materials. We made the two type of smart sensors for experiment. The first type of smart sensor is H2 type. The second type of smart sensor is HH type. The smart sensor was developed for recognition of material. And then we developed estimation method of sensing ability of smart sensors. The first method(Sensing Ability Index) is developed for H2 smart sensor. The second method($R_{SAI}$ Index) is developed for HH smart sensor. We estimated sensing ability of smart sensor with new SAI and $R_{SAI}$ method. This paper describes our primary study for a new method of estimate sensing ability of smart sensor, which is need for precision work system. This is a study of dynamic characteristics of smart sensor according to frequency and displacement changing with new SAI and $R_{SAI}$ method. Experiment and analysis are executed for proper dynamic sensing condition. First, we developed advanced smart sensors. Second, we develop new SAI and $R_{SAI}$ methods that have a sensing ability of distinguish materials. Dynamic characteristics of smart sensor are evaluated through new SAI and $R_{SAI}$ method relatively. We can use the new SAI and $R_{SAI}$ method for finding materials. Applications of this method are finding abnormal condition of object(auto-manufacturing), feeling of object(medical product), robotics, safety diagnosis of structure, etc.

A Study on Reducing Cogging Torque by Core Shapes in Permanent Magnet Motors (영구자석 전동기의 코어 형상에 따른 코깅 토크 저감에 관한 연구)

  • As a high energy permanent magnet is commonly applied to motors so that small motors have high power capacities, it is also necessary to reduce a cogging torque which causes a noise and vibration in permanent magnet motors. The patterns of cogging torque in permanent magnet motors depend on the magnetic field distributions, so it is possible to reduce a cogging torque by designing a core shapes optimally. But it is known that an optimum design algorithm for reduction of cogging torques is too complicated and the process to get an optimized core shape is time consuming task. In this paper, new simplified core shapes are suggested to reduce a design parameters so that the core shapes to reduce a cogging torques could be obtained with simple computations. The result shows that the cogging torques of permanent magnet motors with this simplified core shapes could be reduced effectively without any loss of average torques.
