In this study, compacting, passing performance, segregation resistance and rheological properties were tested to improve the stability of fresh concrete in the production and construction of self-compacting concrete (SCC) using hollow glass powder(GB). As a result, T50 reaching time was shortened up to amount of GB $2.0kg/m^3$. The compacting according to the amount of GB was improved by ball bearing effect of GB. However, T50 reaching time was slightly increased at $4.0kg/m^3$. In the case of passing performance, the result showed that plain was Class 1, GB $0.5{\sim}2.0kg/m^3$ was Class 0, GB $4.0kg/m^3$ was Class 1. Therefore, the passing performance was improved with 'No blocking' up to amount of GB $2.0kg/m^3$. Passing performance Block step (PJ) number by J-ring method was also best at GB $1.0kg/m^3$. In the case of segregation resistance according to the amount of GB, dynamic segregation resistance was increased compared to plain regardless of the amount of GB. And static segregation resistance showed 2.5% of segregation rate at GB $1.0kg/m^3$. Therefore, it was greatly improved compared to plain (12.5%). In the case of rheology property according to the amount of GB, plastic consistency by increasing of GB content didn't show big difference. However, yield stress by increasing of GB content was decreased with GB $1.0kg/m^3$. In conclusion, GB $1.0kg/m^3$ was effective for improvement of compacting, passing performance and yield stress. Also, it will be useful for stability of SCC by improving segregation.
It was evaluated whether magnetic beads able to add the functionality of environment purification can be employed in processing soil pollutants. In this study, the micro scale magnetic beads containing carboxyl groups were mixed with water and the soil $(<0.025{\cal}mm) filtered through a sieve, and then it was agitated before isolating the magnetic substances by the use of outer magnetic force. The factors considered at this step were the ratio of soil to magnetic beads, ratio of soil to water, size of the tube where the reaction occur, and intensity of the magnetic force. From the separation experiment between soil and magnetic beads, it was concluded that the magnetic beads and water quantity have an impact on the degree of separation, yet the size of the tube and magnetic force does not have a considerable effect upon that in this small-scaled experiment. Through this experiment, the reaction conditions were optimized to achieve $90\~100\%$ of separation. Therefore, it was concluded that when the functionalized magnetic beads is introduced to environmental processing, it is able to be adopted to the soil processing as well as the water processing.
Meniscus, adsorbed layer thickness, capillary pressure and disjoining pressure was deduced in extended meniscus region in cement paste pore by hydrostatic equilibrium. From the results, the relationship between pore size and adsorbed layer thickness could be derived and adsorbed layer thickness represents $0.299{\sim}2.700nm$ according to pore size $1nm{\sim}1{\mu}m$. Especially, disjoining pressure rapidly Increased in less than 10 nm pore size according to adsorbed layer thickness. Therefore, it is interpreted that autogenous shrinkage of cement paste is highly increases in formation of less than 10 nm pore size. Predictions of autogenous shrinkage in cement paste considering driving force for autogenous shrinkage with capillary pressure and disjoining pressure was low in comparison with experiment values between $1{\sim}4$ days and high in later period. These tendency could be thought that pore damage by mercury injection in early age makes shrinkage driving force underestimate and assumption for unsaturated independent pore makes overestimate. These interactions might be needed corrections considering on hydration or pore replacement model.

Purpose: We evaluated the clinical outcome after arthroscopic repair in full thickness rotator cuff tears with and without delamination. Materials and Methods: From March 2006 to October 2008, we included 48 consecutive shoulders (31 males, 17 females; mean age 57.6 years; 45~68) who had arthroscopic double row repair for fullthickness tears of the rotator cuff. Mean rotator cuff tear size was 2.8 cm (range: 1.2~3.6) and the techniques of tendon-to-bone fixation varied according to the presence of delamination; separate row fixations of bursal and articular layer were used in delaminated tear. The mean follow-up was 26 months (range: 18~33) and functional and structural results were evaluated by American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) scale, isokinetic strength testing and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) obtained mean 8 months (range:6~13) postoperatively. The patterns of delamination, age, sex, symptom duration, size of tear, satisfaction rate, retear rate ware compared and significance was set at p values < 0.05. Results: Postoperative functional shoulder score improved significantly in 44 shoulders (91.7%). Delamination was observed in 15 shoulders (31%) and it extended proximally and posteriorly in the majority of shoulders, and the articular layer was thicker (8/15, 53%) and more retracted (9/15, 60%) compared with the superficial bursal layer. Final follow up functional shoulder scores showed no differences between non-delaminated and delaminated tears and the presence of delamination had no correlations with sex, symptom duration, tear size and satisfaction rate, however, older age had more delaminated tears (p=0.041). Follow up MRI in 29 shoulders revealed that fourteen (48%) shoulders had complete healing; nine (31%), partial healing; six (21%), complete retear but the half of the retear group showed favorable clinical results. 79% (15/19) in non-delaminated tear and 80% (8/10) in delaminated tear were judged as healed tendon on MRI and double-layer double row repairs in delaminated tears resulted in nearly same rate of structural integrity of single-layer double row repairs (p=0.165). Conclusion: The incidence of delamination in our series was 31% and older age had more delaminated tears. Sex, symptom duration, preoperative size of the tear, functional results and satisfaction rate had no significant correlations with the presence of delamination. Nearly the same postoperative structural integrity was noted in both delaminated and non-delaminated tears.

This paper presents the characterization of a continuous magnetophoretic microseparator for separating white and red blood cells from peripheral whole blood cells based on their native magnetic properties. The magnetophoretic microseparator separated the blood cells using a high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) method without the use of additives such as magnetic beads or probing materials. Experimental results show that the paramagnetic capture mode microseparator can continuously separate out 93.5% of red blood cells and 97.4% of white blood cells from diluted whole blood, and the diamagnetic capture mode microseparator can continuously separate out 89.7% of red blood cells and 72.7 % of white blood cells by using applying an external magnetic flux of 0.2 T using a permanent magnet.

We study on the segregation reduction effect of Self-Leveling Color Mortar by using variable composition set of plasticizer and thickener, Naphthalene, melamine and polycarbonate-based dispersants were employed as plasticizers for examining on fluidity of mortar mixtures. For enhancement of mortar stability without loss of it's fluidity, two types of thickener were used such as polysaccharide(PS) and hydroxyethylcellulose(HEC). As a result, the most effective mortar was composed by feeding 0.519% of polycarbonate-based dispersant with 0.002587% of PS and 0.155844% of HEC on amount of basic mortar.
