  • This study was performed to investigate the relations on nursing professionalism, consciousness of biomedical ethics and intrapersonal intelligence of nursing students. The study included 159 nursing students. Data collection period was from December 3, 2018 to December 7 (5 days). Nursing professionalism was 3.97 with low social awareness and consciousness of biomedical ethics was 2.95 with high right to life of newborn and organ transplantation but low artificial abortion and euthanasia. Intrapersonal intelligence was 3.79, which showed high self reflection and self-understanding but low self-planning. There was significant positive correlation between nursing professionalism and consciousness of biomedical ethics (r=.31, p<.001) and nursing professionalism and intrapersonal intelligence(r=.39, p<.001). Nursing professionalism showed a positive correlation with biomedical ethics and intrapersonal intelligence. As a result, the nursing education strategy for positive establishment of nursing professionalism of nursing college students needs to be provided with education to improve intrapersonal intelligence that can improve self-development and education that deals with the foundation of Nursing professionalism.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the psychiatric nursing simulation practicum, which was developed for the therapeutic relationship forming and communication, psychiatric nursing assessment training utilizing simulated patients, on self-directed learning, learning self-efficacy and learning satisfaction. As a one group pre-test and post-test design, this test conducted 8 hours of intervention on 119 senior nursing students as study subjects. As a result, self-directed learning and learning self-efficacy were seen to be significantly improved after the program compared to before the program, and these variables displayed a moderate-level static correlation with learning satisfaction. These results can be deemed representative of the fact that, concerning psychiatric nursing practicum, a simulation teaching using simulated patients is effective. The results of this study are expected to contribute to improving field-centered psychiatric nursing practicum and the quality of psychiatric clinical work.

  • Simulation education is a method that allows learners to learn repeatedly in realistic simulated situations. It solves the limitations of clinical practice that lacks direct nursing performance and is useful for acquiring and developing the knowledge, nursing skills, communication skills, learning self-efficacy, and clinical reasoning required for nursing students. The purpose of this study was identify the effects of High fidelity simulation-based education on communication ability, learning self-efficacy and clinical reasoning of nursing students. The subjects were 84 nursing students who were enrolled in the senior who had received simulation training using dysphagia patient care scenario. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 22.0. As a result, There was a statistically significant difference in the communication ability, learning self-efficacy, clinical reasoning. And the mean score of simulation effectiveness is 2.64 points (a perfect score of three). Therefore, In order to improve the communication ability, learning self-efficacy and clinical reasoning of nursing students, it is necessary to develop and apply realistic scenarios that reflect various clinical situations.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of high fidelity simulation-based education for cardiac arrest emergency nursing applied to nursing students on communication self-efficacy, communication competence, and educational satisfaction. For this study a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized post-test design was used. Participants were 42 nursing students who attended in one university and completed the self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed through frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, x2 test, and independent t-test using the SPSS 22.0 program. As a result, communication self-efficacy (t=2.87, p=.007), communication competence (t=2.96, p=.005) and educational satisfaction (t=4.75, p=<.001) were significantly higher than in the control group after high fidelity simulation-based education. High fidelity simulation-based education for cardiac arrest emergency nursing was able to improve communication self-efficacy, communication competence, and educational satisfaction for nursing students.

  • This study was performed to identify the difference in nursing process competency, critical thinking disposition and self-efficacy after applying virtual reality simulation education. The data were collected from 31 nursing college students using URL from February to April 2021 and analyzed SPSS 22.0. The pretest and posttest result of each group showed statistically significant improvements in nursing process competency(t=-3.776, p=.001), critical thinking disposition(t=-3.608, p=.001) and self-efficacy(t=-3.580, p=.001). As a result of this study, it was found that virtual reality simulation education improve nursing process competency, critical thinking disposition and self-efficacy of nursing students. Therefore, virtual reality simulation education will be the basis for preparing effective clinical practice education strategies for nursing students. It is suggested to have follow-up studies on virtual reality simulation education and various scenarios should be developed.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the differences in transfer motivation and learning self-efficacy before and after applying virtual simulation for nursing in psychiatric nursing practice, and to provide them as basic data for effective psychiatric practical education. This study was conducted from October to December 2020. The subjects were 41 people who were enrolled in the third year of a located in U city, and who had received psychiatric nursing practice education using virtual simulation for nursing. Data were analyzed by paired t-test and pearson's correlation coefficient. After practice compared to before psychiatric nursing practice with virtual simulation nursing applied, transfer motivation was significantly increased and learner self-efficacy increased, but it was not statistically significant. Therefore, It was confirmed that psychiatric nursing practice education using virtual simulation for nursing is partly an effective practice strategy.

  • This study is a descriptive research of investigating the correlation between new nurses' nursing performance, emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation. The subjects were 114 new nurses working for less than 12 months at two different hospitals with over 800 beds located in Gyeonggi-do. Between July and November, this study collected the data measured by using a structured questionnaire survey for nursing performance, emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation. As a result, it was found that there was a difference in the degree of nursing performance according to new nurses' education level, job satisfaction, and working position task satisfaction, and that the higher the emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation were, the better the nursing performance was. As for emotional intelligence, education level, core self-evaluation and job satisfaction, it was found that they were variables to well predict the degree of nursing performance, and explained 33% of variance in nursing performance. Accordingly, it is necessary to provide actual field-adaptive training education including emotional intelligence and core self-evaluation other than nursing performance from new nurses' orientation in consideration of education degree and job satisfaction.

  • This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the nursing skills program, which offers online access to evidence-based skills and procedures. The nursing skills tested in this study was tracheostomy suctioning in the Mosby's Nursing Skills. The design of the study was a control group non-synchronized pre-posttest quasi-experimental research. The experimental group who utilized the Mosby's Nursing Skills had significantly higher level of knowledge and skills of trachosotmy suctioning, but not of self-efficacy. Online accessible nursing skills program was shown to be effective in improving nursing skills of students, and it is suggested to utilize the program in nursing practicum.
