The present study aims to determine the effect of the prevention exercise program of musculoskeletal disorders developed for apple and pear farmers. To achieve this goal, 25 farmers who have subjective symptoms in the musculoskeletal system (Criteria 1 in the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) have conducted the prevention exercise program for 12 weeks from April 7, 2011 to July 1, 2011. As a result, the prevention exercise program of the musculoskeletal disorders for farmers in the fruit growing industry have improved physical capability of them (upper extremity endurance, lower extremity endurance, balance and agility) as well as a quality of life effectively. In addition, a quality of life showed a significant correlation with Oswestry Disability Index, and Psychosocial Well-being Index. For the future study, various studies are expected to develop and apply exercise programs in consideration of the characteristics of farming work.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine actual conditions of smoking and alcohol drinking behaviors among high school students, so that it could recognize possible harmful effects of smoking on oral health and could give positive motivations for students to quit smoking and drinking. Methods : This research was based on self-filling survey which 1,385 high school students in metropolitan area in Korea from September 5 to October 28, 2011. Surveyed data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$-test and logistic analysis using SPSS WIN 12.0 program and its signification level was 0.05. Results : 1. As for smoking rate and drinking rate, boy students accounted for 11.6% and 25.4%, thereby having been higher than girl students(p<.001). It was the highest in over 180 cm(16.0%, 35.0%, p<.001) for height, in 60-under 70 kg for weight(13.4%, 23.5%, p<.001), and in a case of profession for mother's job(13.8%, 28.4%, p<.005). 2. The perceived oral symptoms had relationship with the less than 10 cigarettes of smoke (OR=2.41; 95% CI:1.31-4.41), more than 11 cigarettes of smoke (OR=3.16; 95% CI:1.42-7.00) and more than 1 bottle of alcohol (OR=1.75; 95% CI:1.00-3.06). Conclusions : This result implies that adolescents' smoking and drinking have correlation with oral health status, which makes uncomfortable sense felt given chewing along with the pain in teeth and gum. Based on the above findings, a school or community needs to reinforce education for preventing smoking and drinking and to offer environment available for practicing anti-smoking and anti-drinking plan, in order to reduce adolescents' smoking and drinking.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of breakfast eating on learning attitude, academic efficacy and self-rated mental health. Survey was carried out with 460 subjects of the 5th grade elementary school student in Daejon area. The study subjects were divided into 3 groups with frequency of eating breakfast defined as an intake of 7 d/wk, 3-6 d/wk and 0-2 d/wk. The results are summarized as follows. The frequency of eating breakfast was 7 d/wk in 52.4%, 3-6 d/wk in 35.4% and 0-2 d/wk in 12.2% of the subjects. The most common pattern of breakfast was the traditional Korean style. The students who have breakfast every day(7 d/wk group) show better learning attitude and academic efficacy(p<.001) and positive on self-rated mental health while 3-6 d/wk and 0-2 d/wk groups were negative(p<.001). In conclusion, regular breakfast eating group shows better learning attitude, academic efficacy and self-rated mental health so that they have positive health status and academic achievement.

Objectives: This study aims to prove that stress directly or indirectly affects the jaw joint disorders and provide basic data for developing oral health promotion program. Methods: The study was conducted by distributing a questionnaire survey to more than 350 people from December 30, 2016 to January 7, 2017. Among them, 336 copies were collected and 314 copies were utilized eventually, except Section 314, for the final analysis. Regression analysis was performed to investigate the factors affecting temporomandibular joint disorders. Results: As a result, academic achievement and stress were found to affect the temporomandibular joint disorders. The higher the level of education and stress, the higher the subjective symptoms of jaw joint disorder. Conclusions: Because stress affects temporomandibular joint disorders, it is necessary to find out the cause of stress not only for professional treatment but also for solution of temporomandibular disorder. Thus, stress level must be conisdred as influential factors in developing a jaw joint disease prevention program.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect subjective symptoms of malocclusion has on the patient's quality of life related to oral health. Methods: A self-administered survey was conducted on adults aged 20 years, with a total of 308 copies of the response sheets analyzed. Results: The degree of subjective symptoms of malocclusion was highest in the group of those in their 20s when looked at across different age groups, and those who had a final education of middle school. In addition, the quality of life related to oral health was the highest in middle school graduates and among those in Gyeonggi province. The degree of malocclusion symptom according to oral health behavior was highest in 1-2 weeks of drinking when smoking in a smoking state, and quality of life related to oral health was higher in smokers than in non-smokers. The greater the subjective symptoms of malocclusion, the lower the quality of life related to oral health. Conclusions: It was found that the subjective symptoms of malocclusion decreased quality of life related to oral health. As such, quality of life related to oral health can be improved through aesthetic and functional improvement efforts to decrease the subjective symptoms of malocclusion.
Objectives : The study investigated and analyzed the relationship between health-related lifestyle and psychosomatic self-reported symptom in dental hygiene students. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 478 dental hygiene students in Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do from March 7 to June 21, 2012 by random sampling method after informed consent. Results : The health-related lifestyle showed the results as follows. Nonsmokers accounted for 89.1%. Those who never exercise accounted for 67.9% and 37.9% of the students sleep for 5-6 hours. Those who take alcohols twice per month accounted for 58.2%. The correlation between the symptoms and lifestyle included multiple subjective symptoms(I), respiratory(A), eyes and skin(B) and digestive organs(C) symptoms and smoking status(p<.01), mouth and anal(D), depression(K), nervousness(E). There existed the correlation in average sleeping time(p<.01) and impulsivess(H) and smoking status(p<.05) and lie scale(L) and regular exercise(p<.05) and aggressiveness(F) and drinking habits and irregular and life(G) and breakfast habits. The smoking habit, sleeping time, and snack intake had an influence on psychosomatic self-reported oral health-related symptoms. Conclusions : Cessation of smoking, adequate sleeping time, and reduction of snack intake can improve the oral health-related lifestyle and reduce the self-reported symptoms in the dental hygiene students.
To investigate industrial fatigue and low back pain, the questionaire survey for subjective symptoms of fatigue and low back pain was carried out 305 nurses in general hospital in Korea. Nurses participated to this study were divided into low back pain group(LBP) and control group, according to the self-reports by written questionaires. The subjective sysptoms of fatigue comprised three groups of 10 items each, representing dullness and sleepiness(level of cerebral activation), difficulty in concentration(level of motivation) and bodily projection of fatigue. The resultant data were processed for $x^2$-test, t-test to confirm the associations. The results were as follows: 1. 28 items of fatigue subjective symptoms exept two item, 'feel thirsty and 'feel ill', were directly associated with low back pain. 2. The percentage of fatigue complaint were significantly higher in LBP group than control. 3. Of the 30 items of fatigue subjective symptoms, the highest percentage was accounted for 'legs feel heavy', 'eye strain', 'feel stiffness in the neck or the shoulders' followed by 'feel like lying', 'whole body feels tired', 'feel a pain in the low back', 'feel drowsy' and in the order of sequence. 4. The average weighted score for the first group of fatigue items(dullness and sleepiness) was the largest among three groups and was followed by the second group(difficulty in concentration) and the third group (bodily projection of fatigue) in the order of sequence, suggesting the heavier mental and shift work stress of the female workers.
The study on the used the Korean Youth Risk Behavior Web Based Survey to investigate the convergence factors influencing affect the oral health with subjective depression experience of adolescent. The dependent variable included oral health behavior and subjective symptom experience and the independent variable included subjective depression experience. Convergence factors influencing affect the subjective depression experience was significantly higher than those without depression experience were tooth brush times(one day), tooth brush times after lunch and sealant experience among oral health behavior and was significantly higher than those without depression experience were tooth break, pain, periodontal bleeding and bad breath among subjective symptoms. As a result, it appears to the depression experiences related to oral health factor, so it is consider psychological factors to improve the oral health of adolescents.

휴대폰 전자파로 인해 두통, 불면증, 단기간의 기억력 소실 등의 신경 생리학적 증상을 호소하는 휴대론 전자파 과민증 (EHS, Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity) 환자들이 늘어나고 있다. 그러나 휴대폰 전자파 과민반응의 원인이 막연한 불안감 때문인지 혹은 전자파 노출로 인한 증상 인지에 대하여 확실하게 규명이 되지 않고 있다. GSM 방식의 휴대폰의 경우 전자파 노출 시 EHS 군을 대상으로 혈압, 맥박수 변화 등의 과민 반응에 대한 연구들이 수행되었으나 일반인과 EHS 군의 실험-대조군 연구로 생체신호, 자각증상 및 전자파 인지 여부에 대한 복합석인 연구와 CDMA 휴대폰 EHS 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 본 연구예서는 일반인 6명과 EHS 6명을 대상으로 30분간 300mW의 CDMA 휴대폰 전자파에 노출시 교감신경의 흥분을 나타내는 맥박, 호흡수, HRV(heart rate variability의 변화를 측정하였다. 그 결과, 일반인과 EHS 군 모두 전자파 노출여부에 따라 맥박, 호흡수, HRV의 변화가 없었다.

본 연구의 목적은 치과위생사의 근무환경, 근골격계 질환 예방교육에 대한 인식, 작업관련성 근골격계 질환과 근무특성과의 연관성에 대하여 알아보고자 하였으며, 근골격계 질환 증상 감소를 위한 관리방안을 제시하고자 한다. 전국(서울, 경기, 대구, 포항) 210명의 치과위생사를 대상으로2011년 8월 1일부터 12일까지 자기기입식 설문지 조사를 시행한 후 회수하여 응답이 불분명하거나 크게 사고를 당한 5명을 제외한 205명에 대해서 분석 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 15.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 근골격계질환 예방에 관한 교육을 받은 적이 없는 치위생사가 78.0%로 대부분을 차지하였으며, 근골격계 질환 예방프로그램이 필요하다고 인식하는 치과위생사가 93.2%로 대부분을 차지하였다. 신체부위별 통증빈도를 보면, 평균이 '어깨-목 사이(오른쪽)'가 3.07로 가장 높았고, 신체부위별 통증 정도를 보면, 평균이 '발목/종아리(왼쪽)'가 1.47로 가장 높게 나타났다. 신체부위별 근골격계 질환 통증경험 관련 작업능력 지장여부를 보면, 평균이 '무릎(오른쪽)'이 1.84로 가장 높게 나타났다. 손에 대한 근골격계 질환 증상으로는 오른손의 불편함 정도를 보면, 평균이 'Abductor hallucis muscle' 부분이 2.05로 가장 높았고, 왼손의 불편함 정도를 보면, 평균이 'Thumb' 부분이 1.69로 가장 높게 나타났다.
