Answer sheets for questionnarie for 178 workers at Changwon city, Korea, were collected and analyzed using SPSS 19.0. The number of respondents who have visited dental clinic is lower among group with dental caries than group without dental caries. The respondents who have scaling corresponds to 31.3% in the group with dental caries and a little bit lower percentage is shown in the group without dental cares(p<.05). Among those with dental caries, the respondents who experienced tooth pains are to 51.3% and those who had frequent blooding in gum 48.7% and those who had ordors inside the mouth 53.8%. The number of respondents who had scaling within last one year among the group with gingival inflammation is lower than those without it(p<.001). In the group with gingival inflammation, no smokers are corresponding to 13.9%(p<.01) and those with more than 3 times brush of tooth 4.7% and those with oral hygiene devices are to 5.9%. Important variables which have effects on dental caries are understood as self-evaluation for dental health, dental floss or interdental brush, ordors in the mouth. Also variables related with gingival inflammation are considered as tooth brush before bed time, tongue pain, orders in the mouth, the cold as ice tooth and tooth scaling experience. In summary, Oral health education is needed to increase the motivation of industrial workers to control their basic dental disease.

Pneumomediastinum is a very rare and potentially catastrophic complication of dental procedures. Its common causes are tooth extraction, endodontic treatment, and subgingival curettage using handpieces and high-pressure air/water syringes. We present a case of massive pneumomediastinum with subcutaneous emphysema in a 61-year-old female who underwent bone grafting into the maxilla for pretreatment of dental implantation using a syringe. The patient suffered from abrupt severe odynophagia and loss of consciousness. The patient transferred to emergency department and images work-up revealed a pneumomediastinum and subcutaneous emphysema on the entire face and neck. We performed conservative treatments including prophylactic antibiotics, oxygen inhalation, and fasting meals, and then discharge after 7 days uneventfully. The patient's syncope might be resulting from hypotension and pain shock induced by pneumomediastinum with a sudden chest compression. The pneumomediastinum could be resulting from concurrent perforation and massive air infiltration into the maxillary sinus during bone grafting. We suggest that pneumomediastinum needs prompt diagnosis and management because of the risk of airway obstruction when a patient present syncope in the dental room.
Introduction : OMFT is a therapeutic technique based on sensorimotor, motor control and motor learning, and its major goal is to improve oral motor function. The oral motor conceptual hierarchical development is divided into 5 steps: 1) sensorimotor, 2) movement integration, 3) structural movement, 4) functional oral motor, and 5) comprehensive oral motor. Discussion : The OMFT consists of 3 techniques, 10 categories, and 50 sub-item. 1) Warming up technique: 2 categories, 12 sub-item, warming up by sensory awareness and adaptation, therapy situation adaptation, neck movement; 2) Key point technique: 7 categories, 30 sub-item, oral motor facilitation and increasing chewing skill by direct stroke of oral structures such as the face, lips, cheeks, gum, jaws, and tongue; 3) Application technique: 1 category, 8 sub-item, facilitate food intake and swallowing. Objectives: This study was designed to understand the oral health knowledge & conduct of middle-school students, search for the learning objective and the educational method in line with the subjects and of utilizing as the basic data for an effective oral health-care program. Methods: The samples to achieve the purpose of this research are composed of 139 students in middle-school, OO county. Chungcheongbuk-do, the number of male students 64, and female students 75. Data were statistically analyzed by frequency analysis, $x^2$-test or Fisher's exact test by using SPSS WIN Ver. 12.0. Results: Among items on oral-health knowledge in middle-school students. the awareness ratio on a cause and preventive method for oral disease was surveyed to be lower than the awareness ratio on symptoms of oral disease. As a result of examining by comparing knowledge and behavior on the time of tooth brush. both awareness and behavior were the level of 50% or less than it. In particular, 46.2% perceived after lunch. but practice just accounted for 33.0%. The frequency of tooth brush a day was the largest in a case(47.5%) of doing twice a day. However. there was also the response (5.8%) with saying of brushing once or not brushing even once. Thus, the practice of tooth brush was surveyed to be very low even if being a minority of students. The frequency of taking a light meal was 68.8% in less than twice a day. However, even students of taking more than five times were surveyed to be 9.8%. Out of the whole-body health in over 50%-59.9%. the oral health was surveyed to be perceived to be very important. Compared to the awareness level on importance of a tooth, the ratio of visiting a dentistry was analyzed to be very low. Conclusions: The study results suggest that the school oral-health project was examined to have the necessity of being expanded and carried out even in middle-and-high schools, by which the specific oral-health promotion program including oral-health education in this period is developed.
Our study shows the following results of the patterns and reality of oral health of 862 Government employees and private school employees who had received oral examinations from April to May, 2000. For the exposition of each group to dental service, the male groups(37.4%) were more exposed than the female ones(30.0%, p<0.05), while the scaling experience results indicated that more ages mean more scaling(the over 50 year group 27.1%, 41-50 group 23.9%, 31-40 group 20.5%, 21-30 group 10.8%, p<0.001). The data involving sweet food and refreshments revealed that 'positive respondents' in the male groups were 19.7% with 12.5% positive in the female ones, and 'negative respondents' were 32.3% and 51.0% in the male and female groups respectively(p<0.001). For the oral odor, the male groups(37.9%) are more severe than the female ones(25.5%, p<0.01). The results of dental caries revealed that 19.1% of the male and 13.9% of the female said 'yes'(p<0.05), with 25.1% of the male and 11.1% of the female suffering from missing teeth(p<0.001); 77.4% of the male and 51.0% of the female from periodontal disease (p<0.001).
In this study, a survey was conducted to check the health status and health-related behavior according to the subjective oral malodor of some university students targeting 1,490 students who are attending N university in Cheonan. Based on the result to confirm the awareness of oral malodor and systemic diseases status, there were many cases to be realized such as sinus infection, chronic rhinitis, asthma, gastrointestinal disorders and xerostama among the people who think that they have bad breath, not the people who think that they don't have bad breath (p<.05). Based on the result to confirm the subjective oral health condition according to awareness of oral malodor status, it was shown that there were more respondents who have some oral conditions such as 'there are tooth to be treated', 'there is food stuck between tooth' and 'the gums are often swollen' among the people who realize that they have bad breath, not the people who think that they don't have bad breath (p<.05). It was shown that there were more cases to be brushed teeth everyday among the people who realize that they don't have bad breath than the people who think that they have bad breath (p<.05) and there were more cases to be used dental floss and to be brushed tongue everyday among the people who think that they don't have bad breath (p<.01).

This research studied the relevance of oral symptoms and fear to find solutions for prevention and treatment at the right time. The study was conducted over a three-month period from September to November 2015. College students who lived in the region of Busan were surveyed, and the data from 288 respondents were analyzed. The female students felt a higher level of fear in every item than the males. To be specific, there were statistically significant differences in postponing the appointment (p=0.014), tension during treatment (p=0.001), dread when making the appointment (p=0.001), dread upon arrival (p=0.001), dread in the waiting room (p=0.001), dread of dental smells (p=0.006), dread while undergoing anesthesia (p<0.001), dread when receiving an injection (p<0.001), dread when looking at a tool for tooth preparation (p<0.001), dread of the sound of a tool for tooth preparation (p<0.001), dread of the feelings of tooth preparation (p<0.001), dread during scaling(p<0.001), and apprehension about the entire treatment (p<0.001). Concerning the fear level according to oral symptom awareness, the respondents with dental caries experienced a higher level of fear in terms of treatment avoidance (p=0.001), physiological reactions (p=0.001) and overall Dental Fear Survey (DFS)(p=0.003), and the students whose teeth were broken had a higher level of fear in terms of treatment avoidance (p=0.010), stimulus factors (p=0.031) and overall DFS (P=0.019). The students who had a missing tooth felt a higher level of fear in terms of physiological reactions (p=0.019) and overall DFS (p=0.033), and the respondents with gingival pain felt a higher level of pain in terms of the stimulus factors (p=0.013) and overall DFS (p=0.034). Therefore, college students should be educated to visit a dental clinic when they are aware of any oral symptom, and methods to reduce the stimulus factors as much as possible should be considered carefully to relieve dental fear.
