A test of the 1/3 scale model was conducted to verify the tip-over analysis of a dry. concrete storage cask under a hypothetical accident condition. The tip-over analysis was executed using the velocity at each point as the initial conditions of the model just before the impact. The initial velocity was determined from the initial angular velocity, which would make the equivalent kinetic energy to the potential energy. To confirm the structural integrity of the canister, the visual testing and the non-detective testings such as Liquid Penetrant testing and Ultrasonic Testing were conducted. The lid of a storage cask was plastically deformed near the impact point. The structural integrity of storage cask was maintained. To verify the tip-over analysis the strains and the accelerations acquired by the tip-over test were compared with those by the analyses. The results of the analysis were larger than the test results about two times.
위성을 발사하기 전까지는 지상에서 EGSE(Electrical Ground Support Equipment)를 이용하여 충분한 시스템 단위의 위성체 기능 시험을 수행한다.
Currently, most procedures in domestic facility management systems are performed by hand. However, these manually operated facility management systems involve critical limitations, such as a waste of manpower to store collected data into a database, intentional or accidental loss of data consistency (mainly due to a lack of the ability to recognize and deal with frequent changes of facility status in realtime), and so on. To overcome the limitations of such manually operated facility management systems, the following capabilities must be supported. First, the changes in facility status must be recognized in realtime. Second, the data collection process must be secure and reliable to prevent fabrication of collected data and preserve data integrity. Third, the data collection devices must be portable to help the manager collect data about their facilities. To address these problems, we design and implement a novel facility management system using portable RFID, which is designed to support these functionalities and thus help reduce administrative costs. Through extensive experiments, we observed that our system improved the accuracy and reliability of facility check process and helped cut administrative costs by significantly reducing failure frequency.

The performance of a geothermal heat pump system using carbon dioxide was investigated by the steady-state cycle simulation program developed in this study. A parametric study was carried out in order to investigate the effect of various operating conditions on the performance of the basic cycle without an IHX(internal heat exchanger). The simulation program consists of several Fortran subroutines for simulating indoor and outdoor heat exchangers, compressors, and expansion valves and Visual Basic subroutines for the graphic user interface(GUI) consisted with pre-processor for input data and post-processor for the output data. Refprop V6.01 was used for estimating the thermodynamic properties and equilibrium behaviors of carbon dioxide. The simulation results were validated by comparing experimental data through a series of case studies. The cycle simulation program developed in this work would seem to be a useful tool in optimizing and establishing economical and efficient operating conditions in the $CO_2$ geothermal heat pump system.

In this study, a 1kW Solid Oxide Fuel Cell(SOFC) test system was developed. A SOFC is the most promising power system to provide the higher efficient(over 50%) for house application area(1~10kW). To develop the optimized test system, the temperature control module that controls the preprocess and reaction condition, the flow control module that controls of the mass of reactants, and the electric loader that tests the discharge performance condition, etc. The temperature control module was designed to provide the high control resolution(under $1^{\circ}C$ at $750^{\circ}C$ of operating temperature) using K-type thermal couple. The flow control module was designed control blower and heater precisely using the phase control method. And the electric loader is designed that provide CV, CC, CR discharge mode and minimized the operating error adopting the independent DC-DC converter on analog input and output module. The performance of the developed SOFC test system showed that the accuracy of stack voltage was 0.15% at 80V and stack current was 0.1% at 100A.
In this paper, we are interested in checking equivalence of FSMs(finite state machines). Two FSMs are equivalent if and only if their responses are always equal with each other with respect to the same external stimuli. Equivalence checking FSMs makes complicated FSM be substituted for simpler one, if they are equivalent. We can also determine the system satisfies the requirements, if they are all written in FSMs. In this paper, we regard equivalence checking problem as model checking one. For doing so, we construct the product model $M ={M_A} {\beta}{M_B} from two FSMs ${M_A} and {M_B}$. And we also get the temporal logic formula ${\Phi}$ from the equivalence checking definition. Then, we can check with model checker whether if satisfies ${\Phi}$, written $M= {.\Phi}$. Two FSMs are equivalent, if $M= {.\Phi}$ Otherwise, it is not equivalent. In that case, model checker generates counterexamples which explain why FSMs are not equivalent. In summary, we solve the equivalence checking problem with model checking techniques. As a result of applying to several examples, we have many satisfiable results.

A drop-on-demand inkjet is used widely for various applications. Therefore, it is important to understand the jetting behavior of the drop from the piezo inkjet. In this study, to predict the jetting behavior, VOF (Volume-of-Fluid) simulation techniques were used and compared with the experimental results. The experimentally measured meniscus movement was used as the input data for the simulation. To verify the simulation, the measured jetting behavior of the mixture fluids of ethylene glycol and IPA (isopropyl alcohol), which has a mixing ratio of 50:50, was used. The numerical simulation of the drop formation using various mixture ratios and its comparison with the measured drop formation confirmed that the proposed method can predict the actual jetting. On the other hand, the satellite drop behavior showed slight differences because the small sized droplet is subject to a more aerodynamic effect during flight because the kinetic energy of the satellite droplet is far smaller than that of the main droplet.
This paper describes a novel navigation algorithm using a locomotion interface with two 6-DOF programmable foot platforms. When a human walks on the locomotion interface (LI), the walking motions of the human are recognized by several sensors. Then, the sensed information is used by the LI for generation of infinite surfaces for continuous walking and the virtual environments for scene update according to motions of the human walking. The suggested novel navigation system can induce user's real walking and generate realistic visual feedback during navigation. A novel navigation algorithm is suggested to allow natural navigation in virtual environments by utilizing conditions of normal gait analysis. For realistic visual feedback, the virtual environment is designed with three components; 3D object modeler for buildings and terrains, scene manager and communication manager component. From experiments, the subjects were satisfied with the reality of the suggested navigation algorithm using the locomotion interface. Therefore, the suggested navigation system can allow a user to explore into various virtual terrains with real walking and realistic visual feedback.

This paper presents the design of a control system for improving performance of a washer fluid heating system (WFHS) which is capable of removing frost, ice, snow and/or other debris from windshield. First, for the WFHS, a modeling process is described, and the extraction of characteristic parameters of the model are made by experimental studies. Design variables that affect on performance of the WFHS are also presented. Secondly, a control system is proposed for improving heating performance of the WFHS, and its performance is verified through experiments. The key feature of the proposed control system is to regulate the current of a booster converter input to the WFHS up to the target value that is set to guarantee heating performance. Target current is calculated by using initial temperature value and employing the mathematical model derived in the paper. Computer simulation and experimental results show that the proposed control system can perform heating operations in a way to satisfy per-determined target performance of the WFHS.
