The Effect of Social Support on Service Quality of Youth Training Facility Employees in Internet of Thing Environment: The Mediating Effect of Empowerment (사물인터넷 환경에서 청소년수련시설 종사자의 사회적 지지가 서비스 질에 미치는 영향: 임파워먼트의 매개효과 중심으로)

  • This study was intended to verify the parameter effects of empowerment in the effect of social support of the employees of youth training facilities on the quality of service. The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for improving the service quality of youth training facility workers. As a result of this study, first, social support and empowerment had a positive effect on service quality. Second, the partial mediating effect of empowerment can be confirmed. Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions were made. First, for the social support of the employees, the middle managers and facility managers of youth training facilities should use the Internet environment such as the Internet and smart phones. Second, in order to improve empowerment, support for information related to work, material support related to compensation, and evaluation support related to business processing should be provided. Third, to improve the empowerment of workers, it is necessary to augmented reality(AR), virtual reality(VR), and flip learning program using the Internet of Things environment.

Effects of Police Officers' Organizational Learning on Empowerment Components (경찰공무원의 조직학습이 임파워먼트 구성요인에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze how organizational learning of police officers affects empowerment components as this learning method works as a way to maximize the police organization. In order to achieve the research goal, the study selected a total of 170 police officers on duty in Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency as a research subject for a month from July 14, 2013 to August 15. The subjects were selected via the random sampling method and were told to participate in a survey of a self-administrated method. A total of 163 (95.5%) references were used for the final analysis. The collected data was processed with SPSS for Win Version 18.0 and the variables were went through Pearson's Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results are summarized as follows. First, a hypothesis of "how social demographic characteristics have a different influence on organizational learning and empowerment" was partially confirmed. Second, another hypothesis of "how organizational learning affects empowerment of the members" was adopted.

The influencing factors of Ego-Resilience and Empowerment on Nursing Professionalism among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 임파워먼트가 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper reports a descriptive correlation to explore the relationship among nursing professionalism, ego-resilience, and empowerment in nursing students. A convenience sample of 195 subjects were recruited from four colleges. Subsequently, a survey was conducted from March 1st to 31th 2016. The data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program, using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The mean value of the study was as follows: nursing professionalism, $3.84{\pm}.47$; ego-resilience, $3.51{\pm}.58$; and empowerment, $2.79{\pm}.51$. There were significant positive correlations among ego-resilience (r=.455, p<.001), empowerment (r=.325, p<.001), and nursing professionalism. Significant positive correlations between ego-resilience and empowerment were found (r=.696, p<.001). Hence, ego-resilience and empowerment were determined to be factors that influence nursing professionalism. Ego-resilience was more influential for nursing professionalism than empowerment. The regression model explained 23.0% of nursing professionalism. In conclusion, to increase nursing professionalism in nursing students, it is necessary to develop educational programs and strategies that focus on improving ego-resilience and empowerment.

Effects of Transformational Leadership on the Organizational Effectiveness of Long-Term Care Facilities : Focusing on the Care Giver's Mediating effect of Empowerment (노인장기요양기관의 변혁적 리더십이 조직효과성에 미치는 영향 : 요양보호사의 임파워먼트 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine effects of empowerment on relationship between supervisors transformational leadership recognized by care givers and organizational effectiveness represented as the job satisfaction and the organizational commitment. For the purpose, survey were conducted with care givers working in long-term care facilities in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Incheon, and final data were resulted from analysis of 283 examines of those care givers. The findings of this study were as follows: first, transformational leadership of long-term care facilities had a significant influence on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Second, the care giver's empowerment had a influence on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Third, empowerment worked as mediators between the transformational leadership of long-term care facilities and care giver's job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Based upon these findings, we can propose practices towards improving a long-term care facilities administrator's transformational leadership and implication of program development and provide an institutional strategy aiming to care giver's empowerment improvement.

A Study on the Effects of Empowerment Perception Level on Job Satisfaction of Hairdresser (헤어 미용사들의 지각된 임파워먼트가 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to determine differences between the perceived empowerment level and job satisfaction depending on hairdressers' demographic characteristics and analyze the effects of their empowerment on job satisfaction. For this, a total of 310 hairdressers in Gwangju-Jeonnam and Seoul-Gyeonggi-do were chosen through convenience sampling, and then a questionnaire survey was conducted. The valid 277 copies were used for final analysis. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's test, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS 15.0. The study results found the following: First, in terms of the subordinate factors of empowerment, the following four factors were found: meaningfulness, self-determination, competence, and impact. Second, depending on demographic characteristics (e.g., age, career, type of beauty salon, job title, punch-in time, monthly pay), a statistically significant difference was found between empowerment and job satisfaction (p<.01). Third, hairdressers' perceived empowerment level had a positive impact on job satisfaction (p<.01). In terms of the empowerment on job satisfaction by sub-factor, 'self-determination' was largest, followed by 'meaningfulness' and 'competence.' Therefore, beauty salon owners need to manage their business more efficiently by converging cosmetology and business management by expanding empowerment among hairdressers properly after recognizing the importance of hairdresser empowerment.

Effects of Leadership Development Program for University Students (대학 신입생을 위한 리더십 계발 프로그램의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of leadership development program for university students. This program based on the book written by Lee et al.(2012) to improve leadership for university student. This program consisted of a total of 13 session and every session consisted of 20 minutes lecture and 80minutes activity program. The researcher carried out the pre-test, post test and followed up paired t-test using spss 18.0. The results showed significant improvement of leadership life skills on total scores and sub scores, and reported significant improvement of self-esteem and relationship empowerment. Finally the Leadership development program for university students helped improving the leadership life skills, self-esteem and relationship empowerment.

Relationship between Self-leadership, Self-efficacy and Impowerment in Nursing students (간호대학생의 셀프리더십, 자기효능감 및 임파워먼트의 관계)

  • The study was to identify the mediating effect of Self-efficacy between Self-leadership and Impowerment in the Nursing students. The study was conducted from 02nd March to 29th March. The data was collected using structural questionnaire from 166 nursing students in 2 Nursing department in D city. The data was analyzed by SPSS/WIN 19.0, AMOS 19.0 and Sobel Test. The mean value of were as follows: self-leadership 3.36, Self-efficacy 3.02, Impowerment 3.28. There was positive relationship between self-leadership and Self-efficacy(r=.306, p<.001), self-leadership and Impowerment(r=.291, p<.001) and between Self-efficacy and Impowerment(r=.559, p<.001). This study confirmed that Self-efficacy had a mediating effect on the relationship between self-leadership and Impowerment. To improve Self-efficacy, enhancing self-leadership and Impowerment is required.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of factors like self-esteem, social support, empowerment on the life satisfaction of the elderly participating in the senior employment project. As a result, self-esteem, social support, and empowerment show significant effects on the life satisfaction of the elderly participating in the senior employment project. In other words, when the elderly participating in the senior employment project have higher self-esteem, social support, and empowerment, their life satisfaction becomes higher, too. Based on the findings, this author will make political suggestions as follows: first, it is needed to develop and distribute new employment programs to improve their self-esteem. Second, it is necessary to form new social support networks and develop and connect resources. Third, the empowerment approach to provide customized employment suitable for the needs of the elderly is necessary.

How Empowerment and Social Support Affect Occupational Stress of Firefighters (임파워먼트와 사회적지지가 소방공무원의 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • This study surveyed 230 firefighters working in Dae Gu City and Kyung Sang Buk Do in order to analyze the influence of social support and empowerment on occupational stress and its sub-categories. The study results show that occupational stress is reduced for firefighters when there is more social support and empowerment. For subcategory variables of occupational stress, occupational autonomy stress was influenced only by empowerment. Stress related to lack of compensation and stress from the organization's culture were influenced the most greatly by social support. The weekly fre quency of emergency mobilization and years of working were also found to influence occupational stress and its subcategory variables. The group difference analysis revealed that the fire department had a significantly higher occupational stress than the first-aid department, and 4 to 7 weekly emergency mobilizations corresponded to significantly higher occupational stress than 8 or more weekly emergency mobilizations. Based on the study results, stress management programs focused on increasing social support and empowerment for firefighters are suggested.

The Effects of Mental Health Guardian Program on Awareness of Rights, Empowerment, and Resilience of People with Mental Disabilities (정신건강지킴이 프로그램이 정신장애인의 권리인식, 임파워먼트, 회복력에 미치는 효과)

  • This study is a similar experimental study using parallax design before and after the non-equality control group conducted to investigate the effects of the Mental health guardian program for mentally disabled people on the awareness of rights, empowerment, and resilience of mentally disabled people. The mentally handicapped persons who participated in the mental health guardian program were significantly higher in the awareness of the rights of the handicapped compared to the mentally handicapped persons who did not participate. In terms of empowerment, there was no significant difference between the two groups. In terms of resilience, the experimental group significantly increased compared to the control group. Among the sub-areas of resilience, excluding spirituality, difficulty overcoming, self-competence, learning and self-financing, basic functions, overall life satisfaction, new potential, advocacy and fullness all significantly increased. It has been shown to be effective in increasing the resilience of the disabled. In this study, the reason why mental health guardian program is effective for awareness of rights and resilience is not a one-way education, but a participatory curriculum in which a person with mental disabilities who participated in the education finds and corrects the wrong news and creates a card news again. It seems to be because it did. As a result of this study, it seems that the mental health guardian program has contributed to enhancing the recognition of the rights of the mentally impaired and enhancing resilience.
