  • This paper proposes a generator maintenance scheduling (GMS) problem with due consideration of various objective functions. The objectives include leveling the reserve rate, maximizing reliability and minimizing production cost. The practicality and effectiveness of the proposed approach are demonstrated in the simulation for a real-size power system model in South Korea.

Pathologic changes on Renal Lesions in Sows (모돈의 신장에 관한 병리학적 관찰)

  • In order to investigate the prevalence and pattern of renal lesions in sows, 250 kidneys collected from abattoir were examined grossly and histopathologically. The prevalence of renal lesions in sows was 46.8% (l17/250). Main gross findings were consisted of congestion and/or petechiation (21.6%), cortical enlargement (15.2%), renal cysts (6.0%), abscessation (4.4%), and infarction (1.5%). Principle microscopic lesions were composed of interstitial nephritis (25.6% ), glomerulosclerosis (13.6%), glomerular thrombosis (3.6%), amyloidosis (2.0%) and glomerulosclerosis (2.0%) Sixty four kidneys with interstitial nephritis was classified by 46 chronic and 18 acute cases. Among 34 kidneys with glomerulonephritis, there were divided into 18 membranous type, 9 proliferative type and 7 membranoproliferative type. For these results, it was confirmed that sows raised in Kwangju and Chonnam areas had been affected by a variety of pathological renal lesions.

  • Renewable energy resources such as wind, wave, solar, micro hydro, tidal and biomass etc. are becoming importance stage by stage because of considering effect of the environment. Solar energy is one of the most successful sources of renewable energy for the production of electrical energy following solar energy. And, the solar/photovoltaic cell generators depend on the solar radiation, which is a random variable so this poses difficulty in the system scheduling and energy dispatching, as the schedule of the photovoltaic cell generators availability is not known in advance. This paper proposes to use the two-layered artificial neural networks for predicting the actual solar radiation from the previous values of the same variable.

  • This paper proposes a method for choosing the best transmission system expansion(TEP) plan considering an annual outage cost and a probabilistic transmission system reliability criterion ($_RLOLE_{TS}$). The objective method minimizes a total cost which are an investment budget for constructing new transmission lines and an annual outage cost, subject to the probabilistic transmission system reliability criterion, which consider the uncertainties of power system facilities. Test results on an existing 21-bus system are included in the paper. It demonstrated the suitability of the proposed method for solving the transmission system expansion planning problem subject to practical future uncertainties.

  • A major element in the evaluation of reliability worth is the customer cost associated with a loss of supply. This paper proposes a new methodology to estimate the IEAR(Interrupted energy assessment rate) based on expectation value of outage time by using micro approach. The case study in this paper was performed on the basis of the survey data which had been conducted in a previous research.

  • This paper proposes a Web Based Online Real-time Information System for Outage Cost Assessment. This system developed in this study is just only prototype as previous stage but no commercial system. Using this system, the evaluation of reliability worth is the customer cost associated with a loss of supply may be assessed and the information will be serviced online real time on smart phone.
