An Investigation on Employment Effect of Senior Job Training (준·고령자 직업훈련의 훈련생 및 훈련 특성이 재고용에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this investigation is to analyze the effect of employment and quality of employment of senior job training. The questionnaire administered to 576 senior job trainees(over 50 years old) and 28 training institute before and after job training to survey job training characteristics, training institute characteristics and trainee characteristics. The results were as follows : First, independence test(X2) revealed that occupational category, period of training, type of institution, training history, location, and trainee's education level had significant difference on employment. Second, The probability of employment was higher in new and well-equipped public institution than private or old public institution. Third, compared with the prior wage, the wage after training decreased. This result suggested that the unemployed senior can hardly be reemployed in prior level job. The result of analysis on the cases of increased wage after training revealed that the trainees who was women, had a little dependent family, a shorter unemployed period, and a higher prior wage showed higher wage than prior wage after training.

The Effects of Work and Life Satisfaction on the Turnover Intention, and the Moderating Effects of Employment Type (일과 생활만족도가 이직의도에 미치는 영향과 고용형태의 조절효과 분석)

  • This study analyzed the effects of wage workers' job satisfaction, life satisfaction on turnover intention, and moderating effect of employment type after the global financial crisis using Korean Labor and Income Panel Study data. As a result, we found that the higher the job satisfaction is, the lower the turnover intention. However, the higher the job satisfaction and life satisfaction are, the higher the turnover intention. This is because the more satisfied with the job environment, the higher the tendency to seek better job opportunities, or the change in occupational value that favored free work. The higher the age, the higher the educational level, and the regular jobs are, the turnover intention decreased. In addition, the interaction terms of job satisfaction, job environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction, and regular employment all showed a moderating effect of employment type. However, since the results of the relationship between job satisfaction, job environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction and turnover intention, and the moderating effect may be due to limitations of measurement variables, further study is needed.

Factors influencing the intent to return to practice (work) of inactive RNs (유휴간호사 재취업 의향에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine factors affecting the intent of re-employment of inactive registered nurses. This study presents a secondary analysis of data collected in 'Nurse Turnover On-line Survey' by Korean Nurses Association and Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs in 2014. The analysis shows that 70.9% of inactive RNs has an intent to return to practice, and most of them preferred 'flexible working options' (47.8%) or 'fixed day shifts' (43.3%) as a work pattern. Main reasons for resigning from their last job have been found to be 'high work intensity' (18.8%) and 'difficulties of night shifts' (16.7%). Inactive married RNs who have working histories in a general hospital or a long-term care hospital or have preferences for traditional shift works showed a stronger intent to return to practice than their reference group. Our study shows that, for inactive RNs to return to practice, it is recommendable to adopt various non-traditional working patterns, to make a staffing distribution considering the labor intensity and to develop education programs designed to increase RNs' professional satisfaction.

The Relationship between Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Geriatric Care Helpers (요양보호사의 직무스트레스와 직무만족 간의 관계)

  • The research on the analysis of relationship between job stress and job satisfaction has been conducted targeting 355 Geriatric Care Helpers who are caring for the elderly people in the geriatric care centers in the area of Busan by the Act of Long-term Care Insurance for the Geriatric. As the method for the analysis t-test was conducted to investigate their job stress, counter-stress experience and effort, and job satisfaction. Also regression analysis was conducted to analyse the factors having effect on the job satisfaction of geriatric care helpers. The results of analysis can be summarized as following. First, job stress of geriatric care helpers at hospitals has shown significant difference from that at geriatric care centers, while job satisfaction of geriatric care helpers at care centers has shown some difference from that at hospitals. Second, measurement experience and effort of job stress was shown to some difference according to each institution. Third, the effect factors on geriatric care helpers were employment type, job stress, stress with patients in the case of hospitals, while those on geriatric care helpers were average wage, employment type, the number of charging patients, job stress, job requirement stress, and stress with patients. However, regardless of the type of employed institution, job satisfaction was shown high in case of full time job, low job stress, and high stress with patients.

  • The conventional methods of container forecasting is done through regression methods based on GNP growth trends and by other forecasting methods proposed by several authors. However these efforts prove to be inadequate with visible weakness and a more reasonable approach need to be determined. The succeeding sections elaborate the methodology and approach adopted. The results are then compared through a case study involving the forecast figures derived by the Pusan Port Authority and the values obtained by MRCS model introduced in this paper.

A Study on the Changing Role of Labor Union in the 21st Centry and Transformation of Korean Labor Union (21세기 노동조합의 기능 변화와 한국노조의 전환과제 연구)

  • This study examines how labor unions change in the 21st centry and what is needed for successful transformation of Korean labor union. The study identifies four major driving forces of change in union's role. They are changes in industrial and occupational structures, utilization of information technology, labor substitution, and changing attitude of workers. The effects are decrease in union membership, shrinking coverage of bargaining, weakening voice mechanism, and representation. Thus, labor unions in the 21st centry transform themselves into service union, individual representation system, and worker participation model. Korean labor union, with its current reputation of militant unionism, needs to transform into above mentioned model. Two keys for the change are market competition and family unionism.

The Effect of the Parental Care Burden on the Labor Force Participation of the Middle Aged and Older Women (중.고령층 여성의 노부모 수발과 경제활동참여)

  • This study was purposed to examine the effect of the parental care burden on the labor force participation of the middle aged and older women. For this, this study used 2,125 samples aged from 50 to 70 years old that were extracted from 1st and 2nd wave of the Korean Retirement and Income Study(KReIS). In order to examine the causal relationship between two variables, Generalized Estimating Equation(GEE) and Multi-nominal Regression analysis were performed. The results showed that there was a positive effect of the parental care burden on the labor force participation of the middle aged and older women. However, this effect was limited only to the employment to the unpaid family workers. In addition, the effect was varied according to the level of caring time to the old parents. Based on that, several policy and practical implications were suggested.

  • 이 논문은 지난 10년간(1986-1995)의 영국의 사건강보험(private health insurance) 시장의 전반적 추이를 관찰, 국민 의료 써비스(National Health Service)와의 관계 및 역할 변화를 고찰한 것이다. 가장 대표적인 PMI(private medical Insurance)와 PHI(permanent health Insurance), LTCI(long term care insurance)를 집중 연구하였으나 지면관계상 PMI를 중점적으로 다루고 PHI나 LTCI는 간략히 소개하였으며 관련도표는 모두 생략하였다. 영국의 사건강보험 시장은 1990년대 초의 정체기를 거친후 이제 서서히 가시적인 성장을 보이고 있다. 많은 영국 국민들은 정부가 기본적인 복지혜택 외에는 더 이상의 치료와 미래 간호를 보장할 수 없다는 사실을 이해하고 있으나 아직 대부분은 어떤 형태로든 NHS 외의 보호장치를 가지고 있지 못하다. 따라서 영국민의 사건강보험에 대한 관심은 점차 고조되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 사건강보험 시장의 성장은 몇가지 중요한 요소에 좌우된다 첫째, NHS의 capacity이다. 달리 말하면, NHS에 대한 정부의 각종 정책과 태도는 시장에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 경제성장은 상당히 결정적인 요소이다. 1990년대 초의 침체에서 이미 보았듯이 경기후퇴와 그와 동반된 높은 실업은 사적 의료써비스의 구매력을 감소시킨다. 셋째, 시장을 극대하려는 보험회사의 노력 또한 배놓을 수 없는 중요한 요소이다. 새로운 구매자를 위해서 또 시장에서의 치열한 경쟁에서 살아 남기 위해서 보험회사들은 폭넓은 범위의 상품을 개발하고 노동자들을 위한 값이 저렴한 상품들을 소개시켜 왔다. 비록 이런 종류의 저렴한 상품들은 커버하는 범위가 불충분하지만 총 인구의 보험 가입을 증가시킨다. 현 상황에서 PMI는 NHS에 대한 대안이 되지 못하고 단지 부분적 대용책일 뿐이다. 또한 시장을 극대시키려는 정부의 노력에도 불구하고 극소수의 사람들만이 PHI에 커버되고 있다. LTCI는 너무 비싸 지극히 부자들만이 구매할 수 있을 뿐, 평균임금 또는 그 이하의 사람들은 보험료를 감당할 수 없다. 한편. 영국의 사건강보험 시장에 대한 전망 또한 복합적이다. 즉 PMI 부문은 서서히 성장, PHI 부문은 계속적으로 꾸준히 증가, LTCI 부문은 제한적이기는 하나 발전하리라 보는 것이다. 따라서 미래시장을 예견하는 것은 그리 쉽지 아니하다. 결론적으로 영국국민은 질병, 또는 치료가 필요한 경우 전적으로 NHS에 의존하고 있으며 현재의 사건강보험은 다양한 질병위험에 대한 보호를 제공하기보다는 단순히 부가적인 혜택에 지나지 않을 뿐이다.

기업간(企業間) 분업(分業)의 효율성(效率性) 증진(增進)과 중견기업(中堅企業)의 역할(役割)

  • 우리나라 제조업(製造業)의 수직적(垂直的) 구조(構造)는 선진공업국에 비하여 소(小) 영세기업(零細企業)의 비중이 월등히 높은 피라미드형의 형태를 보이며 80년대말 이후 소기업군의 확대는 더욱 두드러지고 있다. 이처럼 소기업의 비중이 높아진 것은 제조업체들이 가격경쟁력(價格競爭力)을 높이기 위하여 생산비용이 높게 드는 자체생산(自體生産)을 가능한 한 줄이고 임금(賃金)이 낮은 중소기업으로 생산공정을 이양해 왔기 때문이다. 소기업 비중이 높은 분업구조는 가격경쟁력이 중시되어 생산을 분업화해야 하는 경제체제에서는 높은 효율성(效率性)을 발휘한다고 평가할 수 있다. 90년대에 이르러 중소기업이 저가(低價)의 생산요소(生産要素)를 조달받기 어려운 경제여건이 조성되면서 중소기업의 경영불안이 높아지는 등 가격경쟁력을 유지하기 위한 생산분업체제(生産分業體制)는 한계(限界)에 도달한 것으로 보인다. 따라서 대기업과 중소기업간 분업도 기술(技術) 중심의 분업관계(分業關係)로 전환되어야 할 단계에 이르렀다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 종전과 같이 소기업(小企業)에 의존하는 분업구조(分業構造)로는 기술분업(技術分業)이 정착되기 어렵다. 왜냐하면 연구개발, 전문인력의 고용 등 기술개발과 관련된 기업활동에는 생산량에 관계없이 고정비용(固定費用)이 들어서 기술개발 비용과 위험을 분산시키려면 기업의 생산규모가 상당히 커져야 하기 때문이다. 이는 소기업 중심의 분업구조가 중견기업(中堅企業)중심의 구조로 개편(改編)되어야 함을 의미한다. 중견기업이 육성되려면 첫째, 대기업과 직거래하는 중소업체(中小業體)의 수(數)가 축소되어야 한다. 거래업체수의 과다는 기업규모를 영세하게 만드는 가장 직접적 요인이기 때문이다. 그러나 거래업체의 정리과정에서 기존업체들이 중소기업 보호여론을 등에 업고 반발할 수 있고, 대기업이 교섭력을 강화하기 위한 수단으로 악용할 수 있으므로 객관적이고 투명한 정리기준의 제시가 전제되어야 한다. 둘째, 대기업의 중소기업에 대한 대폭적 자본참여(資本參與)가 허용되어야 한다. 대기업의 자본참여는 중소기업 지배를 강화할 것으로 우려되어 현재는 극히 부분적으로 허용하고 있으나, 개방경제하에서는 대기업과 국내 중소기업간의 협력관계를 유지시키는 효과적 수단으로 작용하게 될 것이다. 셋째, 은행 등 금융자본(金融資本)의 중견기업에 대한 투자(投資) 활성화(活性化)가 필요하다. 금융자율화로 금융기관의 수익성이 강조되는 상태에서 금융자본이 거래업체의 주주(株主)로서 참여하면 경영정보를 손쉽게 파악할 수 있어 우량업체의 신속한 육성이 가능해질 수 있다.

Globalization of Korean Textile Design (한국텍스타일디자인의 세계화 방안)

  • The Korean textile industry contributed much to the country's economic success during the 1970s-80s. Since the end of the 1980s, however, most of the Korean textile industry has begun to suffer from both high labor costs and skilled-labor shortage. During this period, such countries as China, Indonesia, and Malaysia began to gain strong foothold in the global textile market, mainly owing to considerably low label costs. To maintain competitiveness in the global textile market, the Korean textile industry should undergo a structural change. It should switch from the mass production of low quality design to selective praction of high quality and well-designed textiles. An cement of high value-added should be put into the textile product.: Usage of functional material, new processing technology, automation, pro-environmental dye shes, and strategic marketing is required. In this appear, I suggest ways and means to make the Korean textile design be good enough to compete in the global market.
