  • A small water phantom (dual-window phantom) was developed to improve the output measurement efficiency of medical linacs. This phantom is suitable for determining the quality index and output dose for high-energy photon beams. The phantom has two opposite windows and two independently rotating axes. The two axes measure the tissue phantom ratio (TPR) and the percentage depth dose (PDD) simply without requiring chamber movement by rotating the phantom around its axis. High-energy photon beams from a Co-60 irradiator and a medical linac were used to evaluate the phantom. The measured quality index is in good agreement with the reference values; the measured and reference values are within 0.2% of each other for the Co-60 gamma rays and within 1.4% for 6 and 10 MV X-rays. This phantom is more practical for routine output measurements, resulting in the prevention of potential human errors.

  • In the 1990s and 2000s there was considerable growth in implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) Systems. It is estimated that the ERP market will grow to about $65 billion by 2009. Companies expect these systems to support many of the day to day business transactions. However, the implementation projects of ERP are big, strategic and complex projects which involve lots of time, scope and costs. Because of that, companies have to create conditions, in which they can implement chosen solution in expected time, scope and budgeted costs. This means that companies should be aware of what most critical factors for success of ERP implementations are. This study will first investigate the ERP implementation CSFs by studying prior published researches on the field of ERP implementation. Then, this study will discuss in depth some important factors of ERP implementation and represent preliminary results CSFs of ERP implementation empirical survey.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest customized management methods tailored to the characteristics of each type of park. Related literature was reviewed to determine the types of and management methods for urban parks to discuss the possibility of the involvement of citizens in park management and committing park management to the private sector. As a result of analyzing the literature, it has been found that each park should be managed separately according to its type in light of its characteristics and the strengths and weaknesses of each management method. For this reason, this must be a very important element for preventing damaging behavior at tourist destinations. First, natural mountainous parks are ordinary parks that do not require any professional management knowledge or skills. Accordingly, these parks should be managed by the districts in which they are located. Second, eco-oriented parks ask for specialized management. As domestic cases show, it will be advisable to commit the management of these parks to specialized, highly-experienced private organizations. Third, facilities-centered parks are large in size in response to the diverse needs of citizens, and it seems that a combination of different methods is better than merely sticking to any particular method.

  • In daily activities, the interaction between humans and robots is very important for supporting the user's task effectively. Dialogue may be useful to increase the flexibility and facility of interaction between them. Traditional studies of robots have only dealt with simple queries like commands for interaction, but in real conversation it is more complex and various for using many ways of expression, so people can often omit some words relying on the background knowledge or the context of the discourse. Since the same queries can have various meaning by this reason, it is needed to manage this situation. In this paper we propose a method that uses hierarchical bayesian networks to implement mixed-initiative interaction for managing vagueness of conversation in the service robot. We have verified the usefulness of the proposed method through the simulation of the service robot and usability test.

  • It is anticipated that the introduction of ICT to street-level welfare administration will smoothen communication processes between frontline officials and recipients by intensifying welfare information sharing and distribution. However, through a case study of ICT-mediated street-level welfare administration in South Korea, this article claims that ICT can deteriorate frontline official-recipient relationship into more distrustful and disempowered directions. This study demonstrates that ICT tends to replace face-to-face rapport building between officials and recipients with mechanical checking and complaining processes. ICT-based welfare administration can also disempower the autonomous interactions of street-level actors by surveiling every working step of frontline officials and the daily lives of recipients. Through an investigation into street-level bureaucracy in an information society, this study criticizes the dehumanization tendency of ICT-mediated human services and raises a question in the roseate vision on social welfare informatization.

  • Because financial industry is closely related to the daily lives of people, internal fraud such as embezzlement by the employees can cause serious damage to the national economy, including credit crunch and contagious bankruptcy, as once demonstrated in the Savings Bank Scandal in 2011. Therefore, the importance of financial industry security is being emphasized and developed into converged security that combines physical, human and cyber security. In this study, to prevent fraud caused by internal employees in Korean financial sector, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with a total of 16 participants including bankers, officials of financial regulators, and security experts, who were in charge of risk management in the industry. The collected data were analyzed at three stratification levels such as individual, organization, and socio-cultural factor. Based on this analysis, policy recommendations were suggested for the development of financial industry security and reducing internal fraud in banking institutions.

  • Individual mental fatigue not only reduces cognitive ability and work performance, but also becomes a major factor in large and small accidents occurring in daily life. In this paper, a CNN model for EEG-based mental fatigue discrimination was proposed. To this end, EEG in the resting state and task state were collected and applied to the proposed CNN model, and then the model performance was analyzed. All subjects who participated in the experiment were right-handed male students attending university, with and average age of 25.5 years. Spectral analysis was performed on the measured EEG in each state, and the performance of the CNN model was compared and analyzed using the raw EEG, absolute power, and relative power as input data of the CNN model. As a result, the relative power of the occipital lobe position in the alpha band showed the best performance. The model accuracy is 85.6% for training data, 78.5% for validation, and 95.7% for test data. The proposed model can be applied to the development of an automated system for mental fatigue detection.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of ego-resilience and job stress on job satisfaction of the rehabilitation teachers of residential facility for the disabilities. For this purpose, 193 questionnaires were collected and used for final analysis. Statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used in the SPSS 23.0 statistical program. The results of the analysis are as follows; First, Levels of perception of ego-resilience and job satisfaction were higher than medium level, and job stress was lower than medium level. Second, Job satisfaction of the subjects were higher as the interpersonal relationship, were lower as the stress of personal role and daily work, relationship with facility and supervisor, and client relationship. These results suggest that ego-resilience and job stress are closely related to job satisfaction and that it is effective to increase ego-resilience and reduce job stress as a way to increase job satisfaction of rehabilitation teachers. Since rehabilitation teachers provide human services, they need support from peer counseling, education, and programs because their emotional exhaustion appears in interpersonal relations.
