The Internet is encountering a new turning point owing to the raising Web 2.0. A user Just receives the information and service provided by a service provider in the existing web 2.0, but a user can create a new service for himself using an application program and data provided in web 2.0. The digital content market is producing a new service according to Web 2.0. The specific service among them is User Created Contents(UCC) and it is leading to the participation and interesting of user SecondLife also which is the type as Social Network Service(SNS) and VR, is placing as a new service type. This paper defines Web 2.0 environment and classifies as UCC, SNS and Virtual Reality(VR) and defines a variety services shown in new environment. It also analyzes shortcomings and then prospect a new type of service which will be shown in the future.

Keyword extraction is an important and essential technique for text mining applications such as information retrieval, text categorization, summarization and topic detection. A set of keywords extracted from a large-scale electronic document data are used for significant features for text mining algorithms and they contribute to improve the performance of document browsing, topic detection, and automated text classification. This paper presents a keyword extraction technique that can be used to detect topics for each news domain from a large document collection of internet news portal sites. Basically, we have used six variants of traditional TF-IDF weighting model. On top of the TF-IDF model, we propose a word filtering technique called 'cross-domain comparison filtering'. To prove effectiveness of our method, we have analyzed usefulness of keywords extracted from Korean news articles and have presented changes of the keywords over time of each news domain.

From the early period of web design, there has discussed the need for style guide. But, it has not known specifically 'what it is' and 'how it should be applied'in the actual situation. Most web sites seem to be considered as 'would-be-same or similar'in those impressions. In case of domestic companies or corporations, the development of web style guide has been established, in addition to the trials to adopt Cl(corperate identity) into the web sites. In the universities, with the advent of the era of unlimited competitions among the universities, the need and the importance of web sites has been increasingly emphasized because most internet users, teenagers and twenties, have great interests in the universities and they actually constitute the university societies. But, in reality, the effort to adopt Ul(university identity) into the web sites has left so much to be desired. As one methodology, reflecting the characteristics of the university web sites and the financial reasons, it is assorted that the development of 'web style guide'is urgent. This report explains web style guide and its importance, in addition to the suggestion for the development of web style guide for the domestic university.

This study aims at applying Chaffee & McLeod's co-orientation model to Internet portal news providers and users to find out their mutual understanding toward various features of online news. Included in those features are interactivity, expansion of user role, larger choices(user characteristics), real time update of news, limitless quantity, contextualized contents through hypertext, data base service, and multimedia contents(contents characteristics). To test the level of agreement, accuracy and congruency between the parties, a survey was conducted among 105 portal news providers from 11 online news media, and 105 portal news users between ages 20 and 40. The result indicated that both portal news providers and users showed agreement for user characteristics, but by and large displayed either ignorance or partial congruency toward contents characteristics. Communication between portal news providers and users are thus exported to increase until it reaches the point where the internet's newly born identity as a news medium gets finally stabilized.

We propose a personalized concept-based retrieval technique that uses domain ontology. Proposed system consist or representative concept extraction, user profile construction, and concept-based retrieval stages. First, we extract representative concept with using technique form contents and create the domain ontology. We compose user profile analysis that uses domain ontology for personalized concept-based retrieval. To verify the efficiency of the proposed technique, we perform experiment for Internet site in the engineering area. The results of experiment show that the proposed technique using the domain ontology and user profiles is more efficient than the existing techniques. Hence, the proposed concept-based retrieval technique can be expected to contribute to the development of an efficient personalized recommendation system or e-Commerce system.

We design and implement a new case-based recommender system using implicit rating information for a digital content site. Our system consists of the User Profile Generation module, the Similarity Evaluation and Recommendation module, and the Personalized Mailing module. In the User Profile Generation Module, we define intra-attribute and inter-attribute weight deriver from own's past interests of a user stored in the access logs to extract individual preferences for a content. A new similarity function is presented in the Similarity Evaluation and Recommendation Module to estimate similarities between new items set and the user profile. The Personalized Mailing Module sends individual recommended mails that are transformed into platform-independent XML document format to users. To verify the efficiency of our system, we have performed experimental comparisons between the proposed model and the collaborative filtering technique by mean absolute error (MAE) and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) values. The results show that the proposed model is more efficient than the traditional collaborative filtering technique.

This study was performed to propose the developmental direction of the elderly suicide study by analyzing the trend of study in elderly suicide. A literature search was conducted using RISS, KISS, Nanet. A total of 184 research articles which were published on elderly suicide in Korea from 1996 to 2013 were analyzed with structured analysis forms. For statistical analysis, frequency and percentage were used with EXCEL program. As a results, a study on elderly suicide in the social welfare sector was actively and a survey of general elderly proportion of the study was high. In addition, most concepts of research were associated with suicidal ideation, depression, social support, and stress of the elderly. Therefore, existing in previous studies classified as high-risk elderly people living alone, poor elderly, a man who attempted suicide risk in elderly subjects research through a variety of research methods will be made.

Recently, unstructured random data such as website logs, texts and tables etc, have been flooding in the internet. Among these unstructured data there are potentially very useful data such as bulletin boards and e-mails that are used for customer services and the output from search engines. Various text mining tools have been introduced to deal with those data. But most of them lack accuracy compared to traditional data mining tools that deal with structured data. Hence, it has been sought to find a way to apply data mining techniques to these text data. In this paper, we propose a text mining system which can incooperate existing data mining methods. We use text mining as a preprocessing tool to generate formatted data to be used as input to the data mining system. The output of the data mining system is used as feedback data to the text mining to guide further categorization. This feedback cycle can enhance the performance of the text mining in terms of accuracy. We apply this method to categorize web sites containing adult contents as well as illegal contents. The result shows improvements in categorization performance for previously ambiguous data.

As time gees by, the function and role of website become more important. Therefore, it is very critical to evaluate and improve continuously the website to the purpose. Many previous studies show that some website evaluation factors will influence the user satisfaction and revisit to the website. The website evaluation criteria from the previous studies related to the university library website evaluation were classified into five assessment criteria which are design, contents, user interface, reliability, and site management. In the results, some significant suggestions were found out. User satisfaction is seriously affected by user interface, and user's intention to revisit is influenced by contents and reliability, but there may not be a close connection between them. Besides, the evaluation method in this study may be applicable to the new website-improving approach of website administrators and researchers.

The population aging occurs rapidly due to the advancement of the medical technology and living conditions and this led increased interests in how the elderly manages their lives. This study attempted to understand the information needs and behavior of the elderly users as well as to find about their information access and online communications. Based on the analysis of the interviews with thirty-two elderly users, they mainly looked for information on the topics such as health, news, leisure, and hobby. In addition, they primarily used television, radio, Internet, family members, relatives, and newspaper to obtain information. Their current use of social computing services including online communities, blogs, social network sites were low. However, the elderly users were aware of the social computing services' effectiveness in increasing the satisfaction and happiness of their lives by expanding the opportunities for them to communicate with family members and other social members.
