With the spread of wireless internet, the interest in mobile applications and services is increasing. Korea Wireless Internet Standardization Forum has been establishing the standards for mobile platform and map service in the wireless internet environment. This study aims to present a paragon of mapping middleware that plays the role of broker for wireless internet map service: in particular, it focuses on the interoperability with generic map servers. In this study, we developed a method for applying current map servers to the wireless internet map service, and analyzed the request/response structure of the map servers which have different operation characteristics in order to allow our middleware to fully utilize the functionalities of the map servers. The middleware we developed is composed of .NET-based XML Web Services: it has a lightweight module for image map and a map representation module for choropleth map, symbol map, chart map, etc. This mapping middleware is a broker between mobile client and generic map server, and supports .NET clients and Java clients as well. Its component-based interoperability grants the extensibility for the wireless internet dedicated map servers of the future in addition to the current generic map servers.

In this paper I try to analyze the trends of f environments, which changes dramatically, on the center of Web2.0 and Geospatial web, and then investigate how these new technologies can be applied in the field of geography. Nowadays international IT companies have provided the internee map which includes whole world. Also, mashup technology based on internet map has also been applied in the various areas. In the study of geography one can utilize the internet map as a basic data for regional study. In addition, I recognize that the collaborative intellectual of the ordinary people as well as expert can be utilized actively in the regional study. But in Korea, the mashup technology based on the internet map is not fully utilized. It is necessary to study the technologies related to the Geospatial web. For example, the study of the Geocoding technology which can locate the user information on the internet map, the technology that can combine the information of Geospatial attributes among the various information widely dispersed over the internet with the internet map, and the technology that can efficiently visualizing data by using wet-based vector graphic etc, is needed.

This research is a study designed to identify the needs for information literacy instruction for the U.S. public library Internet service users. The levels and needs of Internet service users as well as the development and effectiveness of the Internet services at the U.S. public libraries were investigated. The survey was administered to the Internet service users at four public libraries in the upper Midwest region of the U.S.A total of 386 surveys were collected and analyzed. The result showed that as the years of Internet use experience and the level of expertise increases, user satisfaction decreases. However, the users who had taken any Internet class showed more satisfaction than who had not. This research offers a new direction and need for information literacy instruction for public library Internet service users.

무선 인터넷 기술의 발달과 함께 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 수치지도를 신속하게 출력하고, 이동 지역에 대한 수치지도를 무선 인터넷을 이용하여 클라이언트에 신속하고 효과적으로 전달하기 위해서 국립지리정보원에서 제공하는 수치지도의 경량화가 필요하다. 또한 인터넷의 방대한 자료를 지리정보시스템에서 효과적으로 이용할 수 있도록 화면상에 출력된 수치지도의 특정 건물이나 지역에 URL를 저장시키고, URL이 삽입된 수치지도상의 특정지역에서 사용자의 간단한 조작만으로 웹 사이트에 접속할 수 있도록 본 논문에서는 지리정보와 웹 정보의 연동을 위한 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다.

최근 들어 WWW의 등장과 함께 인터넷 사용자가 폭발적으로 증가하는 가운데 많은 사람들이 인터넷을 통하여 쉽게 원하는 정보를 얻을 수 있게 되었다. 또한, 기존의 지리정보시스템(GIS)도 WWW과 연동되면서 사용자들이 좀 더 쉽게 인터넷을 통하여 지형공간 데이터에 접근할 수 있게 되었다. 지형공간 데이터를 인터넷상에서 접근하기 위해서는 각 기관이나 단체에서 이미 구축해놓은 지형공간 데이터가 인터넷상에 등록 및 공개되어 있어야 한다. 그러나, 지적 재산인 지형공간데이타를 인터넷상에 전적으로 공개하고 있는 사례는 그다지 많지 않다. 만약, 이미 구축되어 있는 지형공간 데이터를 무조건 공개하는 것이 아니라 정당한 대가로 판매할 수 있다면 다양한 양질의 지형공간 데이터의 유통이 가능할 것이다. 그러므로, WWW상에서 지형공간 데이터를 등록하고 필요로 하는 사람에게 판매할 수 있는 전자상거래 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서 설계 및 구현하는 WWW과 연동하는 지형공간 데이터 전자상거래 시스템에서는 지도 공급자가 가지고 있는 지형공간 데이터를 전자상거래 서버에 등록하고, 지도 구매자들은 지도 공급자가 등록해 놓은 지도에 대해 다양한 정보와 미리 보기 등을 통하여 구입 의사를 결정하여 구매할 수 있다. 본 시스템은 온라인상에서의 파일전송을 지원하기 때문에 지형공간 데이터를 신뢰성있게 전송하는 기능을 제공하고, 다른 일반적인 Web 기반 GIS 시스템과 달리 지불 결과에 대하여 충분한 신뢰성을 제공하며, 또한 다양한 지형공간 데이터를 지원할 수 있는 확장성도 지원한다.

Recently the navigation service and LBS (Location based Services) using map supports much information services on mobile terminal. Also Internet Web sites support user much information. But, the user has the difficulty for acquiring the service and the various information based on map because of searching the many Internet sites. Accordingly, this paper supports a convergence information service model of various culture, education, tourism, sport and traffic for accessing synthesizing information based on map. And we design and implement this model using 공개 API. We present a convergence information service model of culture, tourism, sport and bus line information form tour destination and cultural place of Jeju province using the model. Additionally, we develop this service model using apache web server on Linux environment, PHP and JavaScript, MySQL database and Map 공개 API. As this service model supports a convenience action of culture and tourism for Jeju islanders and tourists.

현재 인터넷을 통한 지도서비스는 지역의 경계 및 지리적 위치만을 표현하던 지도에서 벗어나, 실세계를 직접 눈으로 보는 듯한 3차원의 지도를 서비스하고 있다. 따라서 지도의 신속한 갱신은 매우 중요한 문제로 부각되었다. 그러나 현재의 시스템은 지도를 일정한 주기로 일괄 갱신하고 있어 지도상에 변화지역을 신속하게 표현할 수 없는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지형지물 변화정보 시스템을 통하여 변화가 예상되는 지역을 사전에 파악하고, 구글 어스 엔터프라이즈를 통해 웹상에서 사용자들에게 지형지물 변화정보를 제공할 수 있도록 하였다. 이를 통해 지도의 일괄 갱신으로 인해 소요되는 비용을 절감할 수 있을 것으로 판단되며 사용자들에게 보다 신속하고 정확한 공간정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

Many internet portals provide maps with spatial information services. Recently, various images including aerial, satellite, street view, and photo-realistic 3D city models are provided as well as maps. This study suggested a method for geometric correction of the panoramic aerial images in the internet portal and 3D building modeling using information which is available in the internet. The key of this study is to obtain all necessary data easily from internet without restrictions. Practically, the ground control coordinates could be available from geo-referenced internet maps, and stereo pairs of the aerial images and close-range photographs for photo-realistic object modeling are provided by the internet service. However, the ground control points are not suitable for accurate mapping. RMSE of the plotting was about 9 meters and reduced upto 4 meters after coordinate transformation. The proposed methods would be applicable to various applications of photo-realistic object modeling which do not require high accuracy.

Recently, many WMS(Web Map Services) and POI(Point of Interest) services come to be in service on the Internet using Web GIS(Geographic Information System) as Information Technology and computer H/W are evolved faster in its speed, network bandwidth and features. The Web GIS is, however, limited and constrained on the specification of its system configuration, the service class provided and the presentation methodology of a map. As the mobile Internet becomes popular in mobile service, Web GIS service on mobile environment is strongly required and to be provided by location based WMS(Web Map Service) on a mobile client such as PDA with location information of the user. In this paper, we made an effort to design and implement a GIS computing environment by thin client for mobile web map service. For implementing the thin client GIS computing environment. we were using NGII's(National Geographic Information Institute's) DXF map, representing the map by SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) recommended by OGC(OpenGis Consortium), and adapting standard XML web service to provide the thin client GIS service on PDA by applying the location information of the user in realtime with GPS on mobile environment.

Recently in Korea where were not only more than 15,000,000 internet-users but the internet has been generalizing at school and home under the influence of the Educational Information Work. Moreover, the internet provides the human beings with various information as well as a plenty of information has been increasing rapidly. The purpose of this paper is to give much interests and motivation to students, and besides, is in order to enhance the efficient, systematic writing guidance through to use varied information and materials, and furthermore to consider the method of writing guidance to make use of the Web.
