일반사료에 인진쑥 분말을 급여사료 기준으로 C(0%), T1(0.5%), T2(1.0%), T3(1.5%)처리하였다.
In this study, Artemisia capillaris, which has been used in oriental medicine and folks remedy, was investigated to characterize the nutritional composition (protein, lipid, ash, fiber, amino acids, fatty acids, Na, K, P, Mg, Ca and Fe) and effective substance (scopoletin). Artemisia capillaris has often been cited in medical literature for its medicinal effects. The Korean Food and Drug Administration allowed Artemisia capillaris as a food stuff and indicated as In-Jin-Sook. From the view point of the subjects who eat In-Jin-Sook products, most of them ingested it for a certain pharmacological efficacy rather than as a beverage or a food. Therefore, we need to develop functional foods using In-Jin-Sook. Artemisia capillaris was superior in protein, crude fiber, amino acid and fatty acid compositions to wild greens according to Korean Nutritional Composition Table. Also scopoletin, blown for blood vessel relaxation and hypotensive effect, was detected at the level of 326.13 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g. These results demonstrated that Artemisia capillaris has both pharmaceutical effects and balanced nutritional contents. Artemisia capillaris has sufficient values to use as a food stuff for functional foods.
Object : This study was performed to investigate the anti-fibrogenic effect of Artemisiae Capillaris Herba(ACH) on cultured rat hepatic stellate cells. Methods : Hepatic Stellate Cells were obtained from a 350gm Sprague-Dawley rat by tissue perfusion system, and the cells for the study were selected after 3 passages of culture on non-coated plastic culture dishes which enable the cells to activate, thus producing collagens in the cell media. Cells were treated with various concentrations of Artemisia Capillaris Herba(ACH) extract powder for 24 or 48 hours. After the treatment, Soluble collagen, procollagen levels and the mRNA of the procollagen type I C were measured by using assay kit and RT-PCR method. Results : Procollagen production by the hepatic stellate cells decreased after the treatment in a time-dependent dose-dependent manner. The mRNA expression decreased consistently with the volume of the secreted procollagen which indicates the herb hat inhibitory effect on fibrogenesis of the liver by regulating one of the fibrosis associated genes in transcription. Conclusion : These results suggest that ACH is beneficial in the treatment of cirrhotic patients as well as for the patients with chronic hepatitis.
Objective : This study was carried out to examine the effect of five fractions of an aqueous extract from Artemisia capillaris $T_{HUNB}$. Methods : The queous extract from Artemisia capillaris $T_{HUNB}$. was fractionized into 5 kinds of material. We observed the effect of each fractions on etoposide-induced apoptosis, cell viability, cell cycle progression and mRNA expression of apoptosis-related genes in human hepatocyte cell line HepG2. Results and Conclusions : The data shows that butanol fraction of Artemisia capillaris $T_{HUNB}$. has no relation with cell cycle, however, it inhibits apoptosis significantly and the action may be due to the suppression of Fas and Sax genes and activation of Bcl-2 gene.
Objectives : This study was designed to investigate the effects of Artermisiae Capillaris Herba, Curcumae Rhizoma, Loranthi Ramulus, and Orostachys Herba on expression of angiogenic factors in HepG2 cells. Materials and Methods : The mRNA expression level and protein secretion level of angiogenic factors were measured using quantitative RT-PCR, western blot and ELISA assay respectively in Artermisiae Capillaris Herba, Curcumae Rhizoma, Loranthi Ramulus, Orostachys Herba -treated and untreated HepG2 cells. Results : Curcumae Rhizoma, Loranthi Ramulus, and Orostachys Herba reduced mRNA expression level and protein secretion level of angiogenic factors, but Artermisiae Capillaris Herba increased it, especially VEGF and bFGF in HepG2 cells. Conclusions : The results indicate that Artermisiae Capillaris Herbapromotes expression of angiogenic factors but Curcumae Rhizoma, Loranthi Ramulus, and Orostachys Herba inhibit expression of angiogenic factors in HepG2 cells. The result is expected that Curcumae Rhizoma, Loranthi Ramulus, Orostachys Herba have an inhibitive effect of angiogenesis in HCC.
Hepatitis A is acute hepatitis caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV), HAV is a non-enveloped 27nm, heat-, acid, and ether-resistant RNA virus in the Picornavirus family. HAV is transmitted primarily through fecal-oral route and the incidence rate of hepatitis A is closely related to environmental hygiene and socioeconomic condition. Recent improvements in sanitation, public health policies, and socioeconomic development in South Korea have had great impact on the incidence of hepatitis A, which natural production of antibodies against HAV and the prevalence of HAV antibody has decreased. However, during the past ten years, symptomatic HAV infection substantially increased among juveniles and young adults in their twenties and thirties, and hepatitis A has become one of the most common acute hepatitis. Though there has been no report on treatment of hepatitis A with jaundice by oriental medicine in South Korea, many studies and case reports on treatment of icteric hepatitis of which main symptom is jaundice have been published in other countries. To treat patients diagnosed with hepatitis or suspected cases in oriental medicine hospitals, we need to have concerned about hepatitis A. This report is disease pattern identification in oriental medicine and treatments of 3 patients who were diagnosed with acute hepatitis A and treated in oriental medicine hospital.
Inflammatory mediators such as interleukin-1 (IL-1), tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}\;(TNF-{\alpha}),\;interferon-{\gamma}\;(IFN-{\gamma})$ and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) are thought to play major roles in joint diseases such as a rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and there is considerable evidence playing a role for these cytokines in osteoarthritis (OA). Therefore, we have studied the effects on anti-inflammation and analgesic by ethyl acetate fraction from 70% ethanol extract of Artemisia capillaries (EAC). As a positive control, apigenin, which is known as an anti-inflammatory agent as an iNOS inhibitor, was used and showed the dose-dependent inhibitory effect. EAC showed strong inhibitory efficacy against cytokine-induced proteoglycan degradation, $PGE_2$ production, nitric oxide (NO) production, and matrix-matalloproteinases (MMPs) expression in rabbit articular chondrocyte. In the writhing test induced by acetic acid, EAC $(200{\sim}400\;mg/kg)$ exhibited a dose-dependent inhibition of writhing. The results indicate that EAC have anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities, and could be a good herbal medicine candidate for curing of RA and/or OA.
