Sputum smears of 116 cases in 55 pulmonary tuberculosis patients with the demonstration of acid-fast bacilli in sputum were retrospectively reviewed to investigate the cytologic diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis in sputum. Epithelioid cells, multinucleated giant cells of Langhans or nonspecific type, or necrotic materials of caseation or nonspecific nature were found in 40% of the cases, but in 60% of the cases, only nonspecific findings including squamous metaplasia were found. Only in 6% of the cases, the cytologic diagnosis of tuberculosis was possible with the findings of epithelioid cells and muitlnucleated giant cells in a necrotic background.

Skull base osteomyelitis is a rare but life-threatening complication of inflammation of the ear. The authors present a case of skull base osteomyelitis of unknown etiology in a non-diabetic patient who presented with unilateral posterior neck and occipital headache mimicking cervicogenic headache.

We introduced mechanical stimuli and micropatterned substrate with micro fibers to investigate the effects of those on neurite outgrowth along with nerve growth factor (NGF) in vitro. Microfiber substrates were fabricated using an electrospinning process. And PC-12 cells cultured on substrates were simulated with nerver growth factor and laminar flow shear stress in a fluid flow system The results suggest that microfiber substrates and fluid-induced shear stress are promising for simulating neuronal regeneration in a desired direction.

The diagnosis of carcinoma in situ of urinary bladder is difficult in that the symptoms and cystoscopic findings are nonspecific. The cytology of urine could be helpful for diagnosis of carcinoma in situ of urinary bladder. We present a case of bladder washing cytology of carcinoma in situ. A 54-year-old man presented with dysuria for 1 year. Cystoscopic findings revealed multifocal reddish trabeculated lesions. The bladder washing cytology revealed rather uniform tumor cells which were singly scattered of forming syncytium in the clean back-ground. The nuclei were round to oval with inconspicious nucleoli. The cystoscopic biopsy revealed typical histologic features of carcinoma in situ of urinary bladder.

Curschmann's spirals morphologically similar to those seen in sputum were found in cervico-vaginal smears of six patients ranged from 28 to 40 years of age, during 18 months from January. 1985 to June 1986. The prevalence was 1 in 2147 smears in that period. All of them had gynecologic disorders without systemic effect such as chronic cervictis in three, leiomyoma in one, pelvic inflammatory disorder in one, and primary infertility in one. The Curshmann's spirals in the smear showed varying degrees of maturation from wavy incipient ones to highly celled mature ones, admixed with thick mucinous back-ground, suggesting of their production in the uterine cervix itself. Also the recent history of undergone cryocautery, electrocautery or parturition suggest its production in the endocervical gland due to mechanical obstruction and/or change in biochemical composition of mucus.

마인드맵은 사고의 정리, 확장에 도움을 주는 노트법이다. 본 논문에서는 사용자 간 정보 공유와 실시간으로 정보를 받아 사용할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 사용자는 스마트폰 응용프로그램을 통해 웹서버와 데이터베이스 서버의 정보를 사용할 수 있게 된다. 이러한 기능들은 안드로이드(Android)기반의 스마트폰 응용프로그램과 리눅스(Linux)기반 서버의 연동으로 구현한다.

MPEG-I(Immersive) 그룹에서는 몰입형 미디어 영상처리 표준화의 일환으로 마이크로렌즈를 통한 다시점 영상 처리 기술인 Dense Light Field에 대한 성능 탐색을 진행하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-I에서 정의된 라이트 필드 시퀀스에 대해 versatile video codec(VVC)에 대한 압축 성능 분석을 시행하였으며, 또한 렌즈렛(Lenslet) 형태의 특정적인 이미지 정보를 효율적으로 압축하기 위한 스크린 콘텐츠 코딩 툴의 효율 비교를 진행하였다. 또한 렌즈렛 영상에서의 화면 내 블록 카피(intra block copy) 기법이 선택되는 비율을 확인하고, 화면 내 블록 카피 기법을 통해 렌즈렛 영상이 효율적으로 압축될 수 있음을 보였다.

몰입감 있는 가상 현실 영상을 제공하기 위한 360 도 영상 부호화 및 전송 기술이 활발히 연구되고 있으나, 현재 가상현실 장비가 사용가능한 연산 능력 및 대역폭으로는 몰입감 있는 영상을 전송 및 재생하기에 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 고화질 360 도 사용자 시점 영상 제공을 위해 사용자 시점 타일을 추출하는 움직임 제한 타일 셋 기반 타일 추출기를 구현한다. 기존의 high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) 에서 구현되었던 타일 추출기와 달리 제안하는 추출기는 360 도 영상에 대한 비트스트림에서 여러 개의 타일을 추출한다. 이후 추출된 타일들은 전체 360 도 영상에 대한 저화질 비트스트림과 동시 전송되어 예상치 못한 사용자 시점 변경에 대응한다.

메타버스 시장은 향후 지속 성장할 것으로 예상되지만 현재 메타버스 관련 이해관계자 중계 플랫폼은 부족한 실정하다. 따라서 메타버스 서비스 이해관계자간 연결 플랫폼을 개발한다면 개인, 소상공인, 그리고 중소기업 등 서비스 요청자들의 접근성을 높일 수 있으며, 이를 통한 부가가치 창출이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 이에 따라 '메타드림(Meta Dream) 플랫폼'을 기획하고 개발하였다.

This study presents the cytologic features of peritoneal washings, with particular emphasis on the cytologic discrimination among serous, mucinous, and endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the ovary. We selected histologically confirmed 27 cases of peritoneal washing : 8 cases of serous cystadenocarcinomas, 5 cases of mucinous cystadenocarcinomas, and 14 cases of endometrioid adenocarcinomas. The most frequent cytologic pattern of three tumors was clusters. Ball pattern was found in serous cystadenocarcinoma(36%) and acinar pattern in endometrioid adenocarcinoma(36%). Mucinous adenocarcinoma showed mucoid background(100%) and endometrioid adenocarcinoma revealed inflammatory background(43%). The cytoplasmic vacuoles were noted in 80%, 13%, and 43% of mucinous, serous, and endometriold adenocarcinoma, respectively. The endometrioid adenocarcinoma showed prominent nucleoli(64%). In conclusion, the cytologic findings of mucinous cystadenocarcinoma were different from that of serous and endometrioid carcinomas, such as mucoid background, abundant cyytoplasm with vacuolated cytoplasm, and peripherally located cytoplasm. Although endometriold carcinoma showed acinar pattern and prominent nucleoli, the differential diagnosis between serous cystadenocarcinoma and endometrioid adenocarcinoma in peritoneal washing cytology was was always possible.
