The development of science and technology, along with the problems of entrance exam education, has greatly changed modern society, making the importance of character education more prominent. Character education refers to education that cultivates not only skills and knowledge but also personal ethics, values, and social responsibility. The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of the 1st Character Education Comprehensive Plan (2016-2020) and the 2nd Character Education Comprehensive Plan (2021-2025) and to present the direction of character education based on them. The meaning of the Character Education Comprehensive Plan is as follows: First, there is not much difference in the vision of the 1st and 2nd 5-year Comprehensive Character Education Plans. Both have a vision of fostering democratic citizens equipped with the character and competence to lead future society. Second, there are five tasks for the 1st Comprehensive Character Education Plan (2016-2020) and four tasks for the 2nd Comprehensive Character Education Plan (2021-2025). The direction of character education presented, centered on this, is as follows: First, it is necessary to actively utilize the character education program certification system. Second, character education is not something that only schools do. It is necessary to establish an organic cooperation system among all institutions, such as home, school, education office, local community, and the country. Third, it is necessary to improve the entrance exam system and the evaluation system to ensure that character education is implemented properly. Fourth, character education has been carried out through moral subjects. The core of character education in schools is the need to establish an organic cooperation system with other subjects in addition to moral education.

This research focuses on the modern social phenomenon on child education which still, heavily focuses on knowledge transfer where in the past, traditional society emphasized its focal point on character education. At this, character education plans from various angles have been performed. However, the timely request for character education is becoming more desperate in demand. Therefore, the research has contemplated on Sohak, which was the foundation of character education in Korean traditional education, and recognized necessity to review its modern values as the convergence era has approached our society. Modernization of Sohak's teachings to approach modern issue of character education in our society will hold significant value because of its creative inheritance of psychological values and culture to children from the traditional society.

This study aimed to examine character evaluation criteria and components for selecting creative convergent talents in college admissions. In this study, pre-college students' perceptions were surveyed on various issues related to character education and evaluation implemented in K-12 school system. It was found that the character education programs intended to enhance students' care for others, interpersonal skills, and honesty were most actively operated within the secondary educational systems. The results of the study also indicated that the programs for fostering interpersonal skills, care for others, and sincerity were perceived as the most effective programs. Based on the results of the study, we discussed ways to improve the quality of character education programs operated in school curriculum and to improve the credibility of character evaluation in the college admission process.

The purpose of this study is to recognize the importance of 'character', which is an important keyword in the era of the 4th revolution, and to approach the teaching method through the life of Haydn and his music among various methods of character education. The purpose of this study was to investigate the research hypothesis that the convergence education of music and character brings positive changes in pre-and post-recognition of sub-elements of character virtues. As a research method, character education was conducted through class activities using Haydn's life and music for a total of 6 times. The result shows the change in pre-and post-cognition of sub-elements of personality virtues, and statistically significant (p<0.01) in all virtues of character education. Activity-oriented classes through the life and music of a composer were worthy for the effective character education. A further study would be meaningful by applying various teaching activities if the scope of study is expanded.

This research has verified the efficacy of character education course in Liberal Art Curriculum in accordance with the objective of K Women's University of which is the 'mind sharing through mindfulness, SMART human resources development'. Most of the content of character education is organized aiming to promote values of "appreciation". The subjects are experimental group and control group, of which are 229. Research methods were t-test of between groups. The effects of the course have shown that the experimental group students were higher on the level of connectedness sub-scale in Gestalt Contact Boundary Scale than those of the control group students(t=2.323, p = .021). Although the 'character education' course increased connectedness, but it no positive effect on mindfulness skill and self-esteem. This results showed that character education course is effective to promote mind sharing and connectedness in part. It was discussed about a way of further refining course contents and the need to reflect educational philosophy of the K Women's University.

This study explored the development and applicability of a classics book reading program in the nursing curriculum as a character education program in order to enhance nursing students' holistic growth and development. An increasing number of universities in Seoul have introduced a classics book reading program as part of the curriculum and some have even designated it as an essential subject. Various such programs have been developed in addition to the regular education curriculum. The following aspects are important to consider in a classics book reading program for nursing students: trust, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship, endurance, healthy self-concept, and self-sustained growth performance. Classics book selections need to take into account the level of the students, and the efforts should be made to ensure the accuracy of the translation and the level of students' understanding. It is difficult to form character through short-term education. Despite difficulties, character formation requires continued interest and systemic education that will lead nursing students to show inbuilt positive characteristics. Inclusion of character education in the nursing curriculum should be considered with the agreement of the university, based on political decision-making.

The purpose of this study is to use films character education lessons to be enabled. For this study an experiment was conducted with students to character education lessons in the University of Baekseok. It was to observe whether the student's satisfaction with the questionnaire in the last lesson of character education. Observations of character education with film are very effective for University students. Therefore, this paper is to share the following results. First, this study is a model of teaching character education through film that would be proposed. Second, using film character education lessons will be conducted in a real university. Thus, the satisfaction of students will be examined. Third, using film to demonstrate the effectiveness of character education classes would be. Finally, the use of film in teaching character education curriculum according to the character would be proposed.

ICT is still lacking relevant studies and efforts even though it needs to be accompanied by character education. Against this backdrop, this study has developed and operated an education program that combines ICT with character education and conducted surveys on its accomplishments. The research findings are as follows. The analysis of theme-based correlations has revealed that individual's character has not significantly affected character for others and global character and that building character for others have made a significant impact on establishing global character with a high level of correlations. Therefore, I have found that a program involving a group of people together such as team-based task has a positive effect on fostering problem-solving talents with global leadership. It is hard to obtain tangible results in character education in a short period of time but I would like to contribute to laying the foundation for cultivating and fostering talents equipped with global leadership while respecting oneself and caring for others in everyday life through these classes. There is a study on convergence of character education and different subjects, left behind of this study.

In the beginning of the 21st century, UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) thinks the key to the battle is "morality," and thus proposes the norm of ethic, morals and values. Not only have countries all over the world responded to the proposal, but we in Taiwan are also involved in the campaign, hoping through the new movement, the deviant values are to be modified. "Doctrine of the mean" is the best essence in Confucianism when it comes to the idea of government ruling by a virtuous king, who possesses sincerity, a crucial element to inspire better character. Moral teachings nowadays emphasize the fact that a person should own ethic virtue and behave accordingly. Only via constant practice and training can people obtain sincerity and virtues in the learning process, in which Confucianists rely mostly on self-discipline while more tactics are applied to modern education.

This article aims to suggest a principle frame and direction for the development of the character education program using Maumgram. Maumgram is said to clearly illustrate step-by-step structures of character education, for which the human mind is classified as four types(indulged type, rage-type, competition type, selfishness type) on the basis of the existing analytical psychology and Yogacara Thought. The design of the mind type program is composed of three steps. The first step is the 'discovery' step to awaken the cause of self-consciousness through observation, and the second is the 'conversion' step. Learning process to control the negative desires in a positive desire, and the third is the 'relationship'-oriented step to promote a sense of community with other people.
