Massive Graph Expression and Shortest Path Search in Interpersonal Relationship Network (인물관계망의 대용량 그래프 표현과 최단 경로 탐색)

  • Relationship networks such as an interpersonal relationship network or navigation route search can be expressed in graph form. However, as the amount of data increase, there is a problem that it is difficult to search for the desired data when it is displayed on one screen. In this paper, we propose a visualization method for searching for people, searching for the shortest path between people, and using graphs to express an interpersonal relationship network with many nodes. Unlike the search for the shortest path in the routing table, the shortest path in the interpersonal relationship network should be changeable according to the intension or importance of the researcher or user who is analyzing it. To this end, the BFS algorithm was modified to apply the characteristics of the interpersonal relationship network. For the verification of the results, the data in the character relationship information of the Korean Classics DB in the Korean Classics Translation Institute was used.

  • This study aimed to apply the principle of the semantic network to a long novel in an attempt to understand the structure of the entire document and the manifested relationships between words and words. The costume expressions in Murakami's novel Norwegian Wood were analyzed based on the characters' symbols, relationships, and personality characteristics. The study identified the symbols of the characters in the novel and the relationship properties between the characters through the Clauset-Newman-Moore clustering algorithm. The descriptions and symbols of the relationships between the characters were identified within the worldview that the author had intended. Further, it was confirmed that the expression of each costume according to the character's personality was also connected to the clue that explained said character. This fusion study is academically significant in that it presents a new methodology for analyzing literary works

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the psychological dynamics of the characters in the novel 'vegetarian' of the Han Gang and the relationship patterns in the system by applying object relation theory. 'Vegetarianism' has already been analyzed and reinterpreted in various angles, but if you look at it from the object relationship theory and the systematic perspective, you can understand the inevitable history of the generation through psychological analysis and relation dynamics of the person. First, we will analyze the psychological dynamics of the characters by analyzing the meanings and exploring the meaning with the object relation theory and concept. The psychological analysis and the search process of the characters based on the theory are enough evidence for the counselor to reinterpret the life story of the client in the future clinical scene. In addition, in order to realize ethical but practical clinical education, the field of clinical practice will be extended when analyzing the characters using art. It is suggested that the meaning search through various character analysis needs to be accumulated culturally.

Ontology and Text Mining-based Advanced Historical People Finding Service (온톨로지와 텍스트 마이닝 기반 지능형 역사인물 검색 서비스)

  • Semantic web is utilized to construct advanced information service by using semantic relationships between entities. Text mining can be applied to generate semantic relationships from unstructured data resources. In this study, ontology schema guideline, ontology instance generation, disambiguation of same name by text mining and advanced historical people finding service by reasoning have been proposed. Various relationships between historical event, organization, people, which are created by domain experts, are linked to literatures of National Institute of Korean History (NIKH). It improves the effectiveness of user access and proposes advanced people finding service based on relationships. In order to distinguish between people with the same name, we compares the structure and edge, nodes of personal social network. To provide additional information, external resources including thesaurus and web are linked to all of internal related resources as well.

  • There are various approaches that retrieve information from video. However, previous approaches have considered just object information and relationship between objects without story information to retrieve contents. To retrieve exact information at video, we need analyzing approach based on characters and community since these are body of story proceeding. Therefore, this paper describes video information retrieval methodology based on character information. Characters progress story to form relationship through conversations. We can analyze the relationship between characters in a story with the methods that classifies role grades and clusters communities of characters. In this paper, for these, we propose the Character-net and describe how to classify role grades and cluster communities at Character-net. And we show this method to be efficient.

  • 본 연구의 주제는 정보의 관계를 사용자 중심으로 시각화하는 것이다. 생활속에서 제공되는 대부분의 정보들은 보이지 않는 연결성을 가지고 있다. 이런 정보들의 공통적인 특성 및 관계의 연구를 통해 정보의 중요도를 측정할 수 있고, 각 정보의 개체 간의 연결성이 형성되어 인접정보의 접근이 용이해진다. 특히 인간관계는 사회 연결망의 주된 관심사이며, 사회의 각 개체 간 관계를 분석하여 도식화하는 여러 방법론이 제시되어 있다. 이번 연구를 위하여 제한된 사회라고 볼 수 있는 그리스 신화를 소재로 선정하여 등장인물들 간의 관계를 파악하는데 사회연결망 이론을 적용하였다. 하지만 시각화 측면에서 볼 때 현재 제공되는 사회 연결망 분석 도구는 사용자를 고려한 디자인 부분이 배제되어 단순히 정보를 일방적으로 보여준다는 한계를 지니고 있다. 미톨로지아에서는 분석된 자료를 바탕으로 사용자가 정보를 파악하는데 좀더 효과적이고 용이한 시각적인 구성을 가질 수 있도록 시도했다. 사회 연결망 분석법으로 그리스 신화의 인물들이 가진 신분, 출현 빈도, 감정관계 등을 수치화하여 인물의 연결성을 분석하였다. 또한 정보와 사용자 간의 상호작용 기능을 제공함으로써 사용자의 이해도를 높였다. 기본 인터페이스는 인물노드에 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 4 가지 분류에 의한 인덱스의 형태를 가지며, 인물 간의 세밀한 관계는 선택에 의한 줌-인(zoom in) 기능을 통해 볼 수 있다. 이는 기존의 필터링 기능과는 차별적인 요소로서 직접 관련된 정보 이외의 정보들은 시각적으로 제한되어 사용자가 인물 관계를 빠르고 직관적으로 파악할 수 있다. 미톨로지아는 개괄적인 관계를 보여주는 레이아웃과 부분적이며 상세한 정보를 파악하기에 적합한 인터랙션 방법을 제시한다.

Actantial Model-based Character Role Recognition using Emotional Flow Graph among Characters in Text Stories (텍스트 스토리에서 등장인물간 감정 흐름 그래프를 이용한 행위소 모델 기반의 등장인물 역할 인식)

  • Identifying characters who appear in a story and analyzing their relationships is essential to understanding the story. This paper aims to identify the two actants (or character roles) as Helper and Opponent in Greimas's Actantial model by identifying Subject (i.e., protagonist) and analyzing the emotional interactions between the Subject and the two actants (Helper/Opponent). Our proposed method consists of three steps. First, we identify objects (i.e., characters) appearing in the text story. Next, we extract relational information through the interaction of the characters, and then classify emotions in the text expressed as relational information. Finally, we represent the flow of emotional relations among characters as a directed graph. The node with the highest degree is considered as the Subject because it includes the most relational information. The node that sends the most positive/negative emotions to the Subject is considered as the Helper/Oppenent, respectively. Our research contributes to the computer-based narrative understanding by providing a computational method that automatically extracts the three key character roles (Subject, Helper, and Opponent) from the text story.

Analyzing Correlations between Movie Characters Based on Deep Learning

  • Humans are social animals that have gained information or social interaction through dialogue. In conversation, the mood of the word can change depending on the sensibility of one person to another. Relationships between characters in films are essential for understanding stories and lines between characters, but methods to extract this information from films have not been investigated. Therefore, we need a model that automatically analyzes the relationship aspects in the movie. In this paper, we propose a method to analyze the relationship between characters in the movie by utilizing deep learning techniques to measure the emotion of each character pair. The proposed method first extracts main characters from the movie script and finds the dialogue between the main characters. Then, to analyze the relationship between the main characters, it performs a sentiment analysis, weights them according to the positions of the metabolites in the entire time intervals and gathers their scores. Experimental results with real data sets demonstrate that the proposed scheme is able to effectively measure the emotional relationship between the main characters.

  • We analyzed romance of the three kingdoms written by Luo Guanzhong by using complex network to compare its properties with those of social network. The three kingdom network has a scale free and hierarchical network properties. Human-human interaction networks are dramatically changing in response to time and space. Due to lack of the dynamic interacting data, the researches only focus to analysis for properties of the statical networks. The romance of the three kingdoms is a Chinese historical novel based upon events from the end of the Han Dynasty, the Three Kingdoms era of China, and the reunification of the land. There are over a thousand characters, over a three thousand human-human interactions, and the dynamic changed in human-human interactions in the historical novel. Here, we introduce that a possible method for analyzing about dynamic changing of the complex network.

  • 본 연구는 샤오취안의 "우리들 세대"를 중심으로 중국의 인물 사진과 시대 배경적의 관계를 연구한다. 샤오취안은 인물의 생활 배경 및 복장, 인물의 표정에 나타나는 감정, 구도를 활용해 시대적 배경을 상징적으로 구현했다. 본 연구는 중국 인물 사진을 대표하는 샤오취안의 "우리들 세대" 작품을 통해 중국 인물 사진의 역사적 기록으로서의 가치를 제고하는 기회를 제공한다.
