  • We analyzed efficiency and productivity of the Indian non-life insurance market affected by the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020. Using data envelopment analysis(DEA), we examined non-life insurance companies selling health insurance products in India from FY2013 to FY2019. We found the followings. First, average efficiency of the entire non-life insurance industry worsened in the beginning yet improved later. Second, analyzing the efficiency measures by group, we found that private insurance companies had the highest efficiency, followed by state-run insurance companies and pure health insurance companies. Third, average annual productivity growth rate of companies operating distance selling channels including telemarketing is higher than that of traditional face-to-face channels. During and after the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore, Indian non-life insurance companies should focus their resources and efforts on the development of distance selling channels when establishing business strategies. Besides, it would be interesting to extend our analysis to the post-coronavirus period and we leave this for future research.

  • Wetland also known as "Jheelon" in Hindi language is one of the most important natural resources, contributing various economic and ecological benefits. The study gave a short review of the current status of Ramsar wetlands in India. The wildlife species, conservation measures, and their significance in Indian wetlands were also explored in this review paper. As of 2022, there are 49 Ramsar sites in India covering approximately 1,09363.6 km2 of land. The largest Ramsar wetland is Sundarbans, while the smallest is Chandertal. It was found that preventing wetland loss is important even though studies about wetland degradation in various nations including India, caused directly by human activities is still limited. Since Monitoring and protecting natural wetlands, supporting scientific studies on preservation and restoration of wetlands, demand on imposing regulations for limiting pollutant discharges were recommended allowing researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to better maintain wetland and its ecosystem services.

  • In order to suggest the useful information of fishing ground, a data base system on 32bit personal computer was constructed and handled by using the catch data of Korean tuna long-line, catch by species, fishing time and place, fish price and etc. mainly from 1975 to 1992. The results obtained are as follows ; In the fishing ground displaying catch rate, the catch rate has reduced as time passed, and this penomenon was more evident in Indian. And yellowfin have high catch tate in the Western Pacific of low latitute region, bigeye tuna have in the Eastern. The region of high catch rate of bigeye tuna was moved from the Indian and the Atlantic to the Pacific. The patterns of catch numbers of yellowfin and bigeye tuna appeared nearly same that, having nothing to do with catch numbers in all oceans. The region of least catch was the Northwestern Pacific, the regions of most catch were the Western Indian and the Pacific of low latitute. As to simulation of fishing ground estimation, there were economical grounds in the Western Pacific of low latitute region, the Eastern Pacific of this, the Western Indian, the Eastern Indian, and the Atlantic, in order.

  • 2005년 세계 경제시장의 화두는 BRICs(브라질, 러시아, 인도, 중국)였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the efficiency of Korean companies' entry strategy in India through the DEA model and to review the current status and competitiveness of Korean companies in India. To analyze 112 companies that entered India in analyzing the common variables among the major variables related to Korean companies' entry strategy into India. To measure efficiency, 'DEAR 2.1' An output - oriented CCR model and BBC model were used for the analysis to minimize the input and maximize the output factor. The results of the study on the relative efficiency analysis of the investment strategy of the companies in India are as follows. First, six firm was analyzed efficiently in the CCR model and most firms showed inefficiency in management. Second, even with the BCC model, which represents pure technology efficiency, 103 companies were analyzed efficiently as well. Unlike the CCR, overall technology efficiency of firms was high. Third, as a result of analyzing the efficiency of the scale, it was found that six company showed efficient efficiency, and most of the companies showed inefficiency overall. Companies with inefficiencies should increase efficiency by expanding their scale. Based on the above analysis, it is expected that the companies that will enter India in the future should secure the human and material resources to realize economies of scale considering the number of employees, investment scale, investment type and industry.

  • Because of the slowdown in economic growth of developed countries, emerging countries are appearing as the new global market. Each country is paying attention to the BOP market of emerging countries to substitute for the markets of import demand of advanced countries due to the global financial crisis. Europe and Japanese corporations are set on taking over the BOP markets, highly appreciating the potential of BOP market. Now it is high time that Korea should recognize the possibility of BOP market and analyze emerging countries and set up strategic planning to react to them. China and India have the highest latent ability as emerging countries in Asia. Korea is well positioned within the market thanks to the conclusion of CEPA with India. Therefore, the government and leading conglomerates need to establish an effective model with which to advance their existing market entry strategy to approach the BOP market of India in the mid to long term. That is, they have to set up a TMB model which fits India such as marketing competence, an on-site adaptability, quick decision making, and constructing a close and customized strategy for all the social stratum of India's population. Establishing a TMB model in India will be the bridgehead to advancing the BOP market to neighboring countries which will allow us to extend our reach to other countries in South Asia and the world BOP market hereafter.

  • This study analyzed the service philosophy of Eastern mainstream thought in order to establish a service philosophy. Following a prior study the "study of the service philosophy of major korean ideology", we explored the service philosophy of the Eastern mainstream ideology of China and India and it's coherence. The existing basic structure and operational model of service philosophy were presented in depth and the service philosophy of Oriental mainstream thought was derived. The philosophy of service can be presented as an idea of the structure of the service and as an idea of the operation of the service. It suggested compatibility of the service philosophy of Asian mainstream ideas, and analyzed them mainly in China and India. Indian ideas revolved around the ancient philosophy of Veda, Upanishads philosophy, and representative Buddhist philosophy. It also showed that a major trend of mainstream ideas in China and India was found to be compatible with the service philosophy. Follow-up studies are needed to further refine the structure of service philosophy and develop the principles of operation into larger ideas in the future, and a study of conformity of service philosophy in representative Western ideas, focusing on Greek, Roman, and German philosophy, is also required. Ultimately, it is necessary to establish a service philosophy as an ideological base that drives future economic and social development.

  • After being kept in bonded areas and bonded logistics warehouses, the level of information sharing and progress confirmation on the process until the cargo is released is insufficient, resulting in disputes and legal disputes related to unauthorized and illegal delivery of cargo. This study attempted to present the introduction of standard electronic documents as a way to solve problems such as delivery practices raised in the delivery of existing imported cargo and legal disputes related to unauthorized illegal delivery among import-related entities. The service provider who manages the bonded warehouse/logistics center in the hinterland of Busan New Port and the shipper service user who use the service were classified into two groups, and a survey was conducted to analyze the difference in perception between the two groups. As a result of the analysis, both groups judged that the introduction of standard electronic documents was necessary, and showed high expected effects in preventing and reducing erroneous shipments and preventing and improving unauthorized and illegal shipments. Discussions between related organizations, related parties, and subjects are needed first to introduce standard electronic documents of the entry and warehouse management system, and the actual participation of related entities such as service providers and service users will play a very important role in establishing the system.

  • Although ports play one of the most important roles in international trade, little research has been done on the influence of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) on maritime transport and port volume. While the quantity of goods transported is a great indicator for composing ship groups that can lead to an expansion of port infrastructure, routes, ships, and processing abilities; previous research has focused only on the amount of money involved. Even though it is essential to understand the expected economic effects that FTAs will bring in the future, this study analyzes the current influences of FTAs, that have been already contracted, using existing experimental data. Study results show how FTA affects the volume of transported goods in South Korea with the example of the FTA between South Korea and India. Finally, we provide a network model based on the existing experiment data.
