Study for Transient Voltage Characteristic by Power Switching on Aircraft Electrical Master Box (항공기용 전원분배장치의 전원개폐에 의한 과도전압 특성 연구)

  • In this study, we analyzed the cause of the burn out phenomenon in the power distribution system for aircraft and proposed the improvement method. The power distribution device for aircraft has an AC and DC, and there is a rectifier between the two devices. The capacitors in the power board burn out when the power is turned on and off. The main reason for this is the excessive voltage caused by the inductance built into the rectifier. The cases that can cause a failure are classified. The impact was analyzed and the solution was established through the experimental method.

  • 본 논문은 Solid-state Marx modulator (SSMM)용 10 kV, 1 kW급 고전압 커패시터 충전기의 설계에 대해 기술한다. 개발된 Marx modulator용 충전기는 소프트 스위칭방식을 통해 높은 스위칭 주파수로 동작하는 컨버터를 제안함으로써 고밀도 설계를 구현한다. 특히 고전압 변압기 설계에 있어 피할 수 없는 누설 인덕턴스와 기생 커패시턴스를 회로의 파라미터로 사용 할 수 있는 공진형 컨버터를 기반으로 설계한다. 본 논문에서는 순수 전류원 특성을 가지며 스위치 온, 오프 시 모두 소프트 스위칭이 가능한 Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) 직렬 공진형 컨버터와 공진 전류의 RMS값을 줄이고 변압기의 기생 커패시턴스를 공진 탱크로 사용하는 LCC 공진형 컨버터 Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM)를 설계한다. 각 컨버터의 동작에 따른 해석 및 공진 파라메터 상세 설계에 대해 기술하고 정격 운전 (10 kV, 1 kW) 실험결과를 통해 각 컨버터 토폴로지의 장단점을 비교하고 최종 실험결과에 대해 기술한다.

  • There is a difficulty in improving the working environment and technological advancement due to power supply through cables in the application of linear motors of robots and transfer systems applied in the existing manufacturing industry. We have studied the shape of the high-frequency coil for contactless power transmission system and characteristics of power conversion system, based on the magnetic field analysis of 2D and 3D, using the FEM-based physical analysis program.

  • 핸드폰, 노트북 빛 태블릿 PC와 같이 휴대할 수 있는 전자기기의 사용량이 높아질수록 대용량의 배터리를 필요로 하게 된다. 배터리 사양이 높아질수록 대용량의 배터리를 빠르게 충전시키는 어댑터 (Adapter)는 필수 요구 사항이 되었다. 고속 충전을 하기 위해선 높은 전류 공급 능력이 필요하며, 휴대성을 높이기 위해서 사이즈를 최소화하여 설계되어야 한다. 고효율 및 고밀도를 요구하는 시장에 걸맞게, 어댑터 시장 역시 Topology부터 사용 소자까지 많은 발전 중에 있다. 어댑터에 사용되는 대표적인 Topology는 절연에 용이하며 회로구조가 간단한 저비용, 고효율 Flyback Converter 회로가 기본적으로 사용된다. 하지만, 이 구조는 스위칭 주기마다 스위치 양단 전압 및 전류의 중첩에 의한 스위칭 손실이 불가피 하다는 단점이 존재한다. 그 단점을 보완하기 위해 RCD 스너버로 클램핑을 시켜줌과 동시에 변압기의 자화 인덕턴스와 스위치의 기생 커패시터의 공진 현상을 이용하여 스위치 양단 전압 VDS가 최소화되는 지점에서 다음 스위칭 동작을 수행하는 QR(Quasi-Resonant) Flyback Converter를 사용한 어댑터가 시장에서 주로 보였다. 하지만 QR Flyback Converter 역시 기존 방식보다 유리하지만 이 또한 스위칭 주파수 증가에 따른 한계가 존재한다. 따라서 현재는 영전압 스위칭 (Zero Voltage Switching, ZVS)이 가능한 ACF(Active Clamp Flyback) Converter 회로의 연구 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이때 스위칭 특성이 우수한 GaN-FET를 적용한 어댑터가 시장에 출시되고 있다. 특히, 이 시장에서는 GaN 소자를 적용한 어댑터를 차세대 전력 반도체 적용이라는 마케팅에도 이용되는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

  • This paper presents a simple torque estimation method and switching angle control of Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) using Neural Network(NN). SRM has gaining much interest as industrial applications due to the simple structure and high efficiency. Adaptive switching angle control is essential for the optimal driving of SRM because of the driving characteristic varies with the load and speed. The proper switching angle which can increase the efficiency was investigated in this paper. NN was adapted to regulate the switching angle and nonlinear inductance modelling. Experimental result shows the validity of the switching angle controller.

  • This paper presents the dynamic analysis and control loop design of a zero voltage switching full bridge (ZVS-FB) PWM DC/DC converter. The small-signal model is derived incorporating the effects of phase shift control and the utilization of transformer leakage inductance and power FET junction capacitance to achieve zero voltage resonant switching. These effects are modeled by introducing additional feedforward and feedback terms for duty cycle modulation. Based on the results of the small-signal analysis, the control loop is designed using a simple two-pole one-zero compensation circuit. To show the validity of the design procedures, the small signal analysis of the closed loop system is carried out and the potential of the zero voltage switching and the superiority of the dynamic characteristics are verified through the experiment with a 2 kW prototype converter.

  • This paper deals with electromagnetic characteristics of IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor) caused by field weakening current control. In order to extend operation speed, field weakening current control is generally used in IPMSM operation. During field weakening, distorted linkage fluxes are resulted by saturation of core material. Therefore, distorted input voltage waveform is required for sinusoidal current input. As the current vector angle increases for field weakening, distortion of linkage flux and back-emf becomes significant. This situation is analyzed by 2-dimensional finite element analysis and verified by experiment. With the results, it is concluded that motor parameters, such as linkage flux by permanent magnet, phase resistance, d-q axis inductance, are insufficient for estimating required voltage for given speed especially in field weakening and additional considerations for increased harmonics of voltage are required.

  • In this paper, a novel power/ground plane using the hybrid-cell electromagnetic band-gap(EBG) structure is proposed for the wide-band suppression of the ground bound noise(GBN) or simultaneous switching noise(SSN). The -30 dB stopband of the proposed structure starts from a few hundred MHz where the GBN/SSN energy is dominant. The distinctive features of this new structure are the thin spiral strip line and hybrid-cells. They realize the enhanced inductance and the shorter period of the EBG lattice. As a result, the lower cut-off frequency and bandwidth of the -30 dB stopband becomes lower and wider, respectively. In addition, the proposed structure has smaller number of resonance modes between power/ground planes and performs a low EMI behavior compared with the reference board.

  • In this study, we have investigated that the operation frequency dependences of the output properties of the orthogonal fluxgate sensor which was fabricated with a ferrite core. An orthogonal fluxgate sensor should be operated in as high as possible frequency to enhance its sensitivity in the case of small sized sensor, because sensitivity of the sensor is proportional to cross section area, winding number and operation frequency. In this study, we investigated the correspondence of the frequency dependence of output and the reactance (inductance and capacitance) of pickup coil and cable. Experimental results represented that we could obtain maximum output (= sensitivity) at optimal frequency which is near LC resonance frequency of the pickup coil and cable.

  • In this paper, the inductive power collector using electromagnetic induction for vehicle such as the electric railway vehicle system is suggested and some ideas for power collector design to improve the power transfer performance are presented. The inductive power of secondary part is related to amount of linked flux to secondary part by the length of air-gap, which is expected by such a system parameter as mutual inductance. This paper will study for the transfer characteristic of power from input to output and equation including mutual inductance.
