A moving-coil-type linear oscillatory actuator is consisted of the NdFeB permanent magnets with high specific energy as the stator, a coil-wrapped nonmagnetic hollow rectangular structure and an iron core as a pathway for magnetic flux. The inductance of moving coil and the push/pull effect is obtained from the permeance model of LOA with the open magnetic circuit. The analytical method are verified using the 2D finite element method.

This paper describes the gain characteristics of Multi-output LLC series resonant converter by using the new analytical method. Specially, using the Math-CAD simulated result, this paper analyzes an influence from the secondary leakage inductance of transformer. The theoretical results are verified through an experimental prototype of the 430W 3-output LLC resonant converter for 46inch PDP power module.

The position of LPM's mover can be estimated by the equivalent inductance variation with the mover's displacement. Hence, in this paper, we obtained the position detection signal by the calculation of equivalent inductance variation using the winding of linear pulse motor. And the various parameters for calculation of equivalent inductance variation were obtained by the design specification and finite element analysis of linear pulse motor. With this position signal, it is possible to calculate the driving numbers of steps, to confirm the state of step out and to determine the optimal switching angle, etc.

Inductance is an important parameter determining the characteristics of current waveform in electric motors. There are many kinds of inductances, however, self and mutual inductances are the major components. These inductances are changed under the variation of the magnetic circuit, current, frequency etc., even in the same winding distribution. Therefore this paper deals with the characteristics of inductance according to the shape of stator tooth. The analysis model is newly developed motor made of SMC(Soft Magnetic Composite) to reduce the core loss in high speed. the result of this paper gives the basic understandings of inductance to extend the applications of the motors.

This paper investigates the dq current trajectory for maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) operation of an interior PM synchronous motor for HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle). Based on the dq current trajectory for the MTPA operation derived from the motor parameters, the change of the MTPA operating point for the variation of the motor parameters including the magnet flux and the dq inductances is considered. The dq current trajectory for MTPA operation is verified through the experiment.

In order to determine the mode I stress intensity factor ($K_I$) by means of the alternating current potential drop(ACPD) technique, the change in potential drop due to load for a paramagnetic material containing a two-dimensional surface crack was examined. The cause of the change in potential drop and the effects of the magnetic flux and the demagnetization on the change in potential drop were clarified by using the measuring systems with and without removing the magnetic flux from the circumference of the specimen. The change in potential drop was linearly decreased with increasing the tensile load and was caused by the change in conductivity near the crack tip. The reason of decreasing the change in potential drop with increasing the tensile load was that the increase of the conductivity near the crack tip due to the tensile load caused the decreases of the resistance and internal inductance of the specimen The relationship between the change in potential drop and the change in $K_I$ was not affected by demagnetization and was independent of the crack length.

We propose a nonlinear feedback controller that can control the induction motors with high dynamic performance and high power efficiency by means of decoupling of motor speed and rotor flux. The nonlinear feedback controller needs the information on some motor parameters. New recursive adaptation algorithms for rotor resistance and mutual inductance which can be applied to our nonlinear feedback controller are also presented in this paper. The recursive adaptation algorithms make the estimated values of rotor resistance and mutual inductance track their real values. Some simulation and experimental results show that the adaptation algorithms are robust against the variation of stator resistance and stator inductance.
To construct the non-contact temperature detection systems, LC resonance type sensors composed of temperature sensitive ferrite inductors and capacitors were used, and their wireless temperature detection performances were investigated. The temperature was wirelessly detectable using the fabricated LC resonance sensors with a transmitter and receiver, because their inductances and resonance frequencies were changed according to the temperature dependance of permeability of the ferrites. The sensitivity of the system was decreased with the distance i between transmitter and receiver as a ratio of the l$^6$.
