A Distributed Activity Recognition Algorithm based on the Hidden Markov Model for u-Lifecare Applications (u-라이프케어를 위한 HMM 기반의 분산 행위 인지 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a distributed model that recognize ADLs of human can be occurred in daily living places. We collect and analyze user's environmental, location or activity information by simple sensor attached home devices or utensils. Based on these information, we provide a lifecare services by inferring the user's life pattern and health condition. But in order to provide a lifecare services well-refined activity recognition data are required and without enough inferred information it is very hard to build an ADL activity recognition model for high-level situation awareness. The sequence that generated by sensors are very helpful to infer the activities so we utilize the sequence to analyze an activity pattern and propose a distributed linear time inference algorithm. This algorithm is appropriate to recognize activities in small area like home, office or hospital. For performance evaluation, we test with an open data from MIT Media Lab and the recognition result shows over 75% accuracy.

  • 대형 시스템의 안전에 미치는 인적요인의 영향이 매우 크기 때문에, 시스템의 안전성을 정확히 평가하기 위해서는 인적요인에 대한 체계적인 평가가 선행되어야 한다. 원자력 분야에서는 발전소 안전성에 미치는 인적오류를 평가하기 위하여 인간신뢰도분석(Human Reliability Analysis : HRA)을 수행해 왔다. 그러나 데이터의 부족과 인적행위 메카니즘에 대한 이해 부족으로 인하여 아직까지 HRA 수행에는 많은 불확실성이 존재한다. 최근 HRA를 포함한 안전성 평가 결과가 원자력발전소 설계 및 운전에 관련된 의사결정에 주요 정보로 활용되면서 HRA의 신뢰성을 높이기 위한 연구 개발 노력이 활발히 진행 중에 있다.(중략)

  • THERP (Technique for Human Error Rate Prediction) 방법론은 원전의 확률론적 위험성 평가 (PSA)시 운전원과 작업자의 인간오류평가에 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 방법이다. HRA Handbook 이라고도 불리는 이 모델은 운전원 행위를 시스템 부품의 한 요소로 가정하고 인간오류를 평가한다. 본 논문은 이 방법론을 이용하여 원전 등과 같이 위험시설물 중의 하나인 개스밸브기지에서의 작업자 보수시 인적오류를 평가하고 기계적 오류와 함께 인적오류의 기여도를 계산하였다. 본 방법론은 원전, 개스밸브 기지 뿐만아니라 석유화학 플랜트와 같은 위험시설물의 인적오류평가에도 유연하게 사용될 수 있음을 보여주었다.

  • Recent environmental issues such as genetically modified organisms, the loss of biodiversity, climate change, and nuclear waste cannot be reduced to a matter of science or society and explained through nature-society dualist approaches because of their complexity and heterogeneity. This paper examines how nature-society dualism has been embedded in science studies and geography and how this dualism can be overcome. Actor-Network Theory as an attempt to overcome this nature-society dualism is appropriate in analysing "strange imbriglio" of biology, politics, technoscience, market, value, ethics and facts that constitute our society by focusing on heterogeneous association, and can contribute to providing a useful framework to solve environmental problems.

  • The common concerns of leadership approaches were focused on finding leadership factors or necessity of leadership change to proper leadership styles adapt to contingent change through observing various leaders' behaviors for improving organizational effectiveness. Basically, they assumed that the human could be adapt to any conditions regardless of his inherent characters though it is perceived generally that human beings have different attitudes and behaviors toward the same fact, condition, situation, etc. In other words, inherent factors that cause individual differences have been neglected but concerned only about postnatal environments which influence human characters in previous leadership studies. A number of studies concerning inherent human characters have been worked in Asia for the past thousands years, which enable answering to the questions; why the human beings have different characters and personalities, and how to manage them in the given life conditions. In this research, four type human theory(called Sasang Theory) which has already been widely used in medical field in Korea will be introduced and applied to leadership theory to indicate inherent causal factors of the human character that are expected to influence leadership styles. In process, two different methods, one is for leadership theory and the other is for Sasang theory, have to be considered to match the different ideas. The theory is so predictable that the result implies possibilities of further future researches in the organizational fields by presupposing human behavior.

Xìng shàn(性善) and emotional intelligence in Mencius (맹자의 성선과 감성 지능)

  • Xìng $sh{\grave{a}}n$(性善) theory of Mencius combined xìng(性) that means physical characteristic of human together $sh{\grave{a}}n$(善) that means moral value or moral behavior. Therefore in other to verify the meaning of xìng $sh{\grave{a}}n$(性善) we need to analysis human nature in Psychology and moral norm in Ethics simultaneously. And that necessity justified Moral Psychological approach to xìng $sh{\grave{a}}n$(性善). Mencius combined a priori morality and a priori moral norm and asserted xìng $sh{\grave{a}}n$(性善). And than he presented an example for a basis or a clue of mora norm and explained grounds of moral behavior. But various theory Moral Psychology considered morality as an attachment or derivation of human nature. So another new Moral Psychology is needed to investigate Mencius Xìng $sh{\grave{a}}n$(性善) theory in a viewpoint of Moral Psychology. And than that must managed morality and moral norm as essential problems firstly. That because Mencius considered human as a moral subjectivity and seek the clue or basis morality and moral norm in human nature. And secondly that must managed moral intelligence as a emotional intelligence, because of $li{\acute{a}}ng$ $n{\acute{e}}ng$(良能) $li{\acute{a}}ng$ zhī(良知) of Mencius meaned moral intelligence which was derived from blood tied and moral emotion.

  • A house in the traditional Korean living had a shape without shape containing all the acts, emotions, and reason of a human being and was an integrated whole creating a life by involving in all the diverse acts. In this vein, a good house for the Asian people should emotion to make the residents healthy rather than comfortable and have its own life constantly changing, exercising, and creating and circulating ch'i(氣). This study presents a house design plan with the focus on the circulation of ch'i(氣) in order to create a space for a healthy body and free spirit. By approaching ch'i from the two aspects of spirit and body, the ways were examined to make a house be full of ch'i and breathe itself as if it were alive along with humans. And the case of Jungam's design process was illustrated.

A New Dynamic HRA Method and Its Application (새로운 동적인간신뢰도 방법론과 적용)

  • This paper present a new dynamic HRA (Human Reliability Analysis) method and its application for Quantifying the human error probabilities in implementing an accident management action. For comparisons of current HRA methods with the new method, the characteristics of THERP, HCR, and SLIM-MAUD, which are most frequently used methods in PSAs, are discussed. The action associated with the implementation of the cavity flooding during a station blackout sequence is considered for its application. This method is based on the concepts of the quantified correlation between the performance requirement and performance achievement. The MAAP 3.0B code and Latin Hypercube sampling technique are used to determine the uncertainty of the performance achievement parameter. Meanwhile, the value of the performance requirement parameter is obtained from interviews. Based on these stochastic distributions obtained, human error probabilities are calculated with respect to the various means and variances of the timings. It is shown that this method is very flexible in that it can be applied to any kind of the operator actions, including the actions associated with the implementation of accident management strategies.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 상황 인식 위치 기반 서비스를 위해 정성적인 개인 공간 행동을 포착하는 새로운 방법을 제안하는 것이다. 단순한 추적이내 사람의 위치 변화에 대해 색인 생성을 넘어서서, 사람과 환경 사이의 관계 변화가 본 연구의 공식 모텔에 대한 기본 소스로 간주된다. 특히 이 연구는 특정 지역의 경계 근처에서의 사람의 움직이는 행위에 중점을 둔다. 그 행위를 포착하기 위해 그 개체의 영향력 범위를 적용하는 새로운 접근 방법이 제안된다. 이러한 개체 시공간적으로 확장된 점는 그 영향력 범위를 그 개체의 위치와 함께 잠재적 사건이내 상호작용 구역으로 간주한다. 이렇게 포착된 정성적 공간 행위는 알려진 지역 근처의 개체 관계의 더 정제된 설명을 제공하여 단순한 공간정보 제공을 넘어선 실시간 공간 의사 결정 지원 시스템 강화에 도움을 줄 수 있다.

Human Goal in Advaita Vedānta (아드와이따 베단따와 인간의 목표)

  • In (Advaita) $Ved{\bar{a}}nta$ although human beings are destined to have a pessimistic starting point in life, their goal of life is to become a Perfect Being which is called 'Liberation' (mokṣa) by self-transcendence. This human goal together with several means are accepted by $Ved{\bar{a}}nta$ as solely valuable thing in the life. In this way there must be a self-recognition of his own value in the process of Liberation, through which one recognizes his own true nature i.e. ${\bar{A}}tman$. ${\bar{A}}tman$ is clearly defined to be 'Existence, Consciousness, Bliss' (Being, Illumination, Good), and this definition is made with the view of revealing that It is ultimate foundation and source of human beings ontologically, epistemologically and axiologically. However, as $Ved{\bar{a}}ntic$points of view on human goal are not without critical limitations, it may be necessary to revaluate 'the process of self-inquiry' devised to achieve human goal. Inquiry is, first of all, an accepting process of what is given in $Ved{\bar{a}}nta$ as the scenario that gives rise to most actual result, then, a performing and verifying process of that scenario in one's own experience consistently. In this process, a shift of action from worldly life to unworldly life is what is called 'self-adjustment', a removal of 'the self in excess' through knowledge of the real Self is what is called 'simplification of the self', and at the end of simplification a state of ultimate Self is 'Liberation'. Therefore, the inquiry of $Ved{\bar{a}}nta$ into human goal can be summarized as following formula; 'good action = self-adjustment' ${\rightarrow}$ 'good knowledge = simplification of the self' ${\rightarrow}$ 'Liberation = ultimate Self'.
