Change of Microbial Community and Fermentative Production of Hydrogen from Tofu Wastewater (두부 폐수를 이용한 수소생산 및 미생물의 군집 변화)

  • In this study, characteristics of biological hydrogen production and microbial distribution were investigated with the wastewater of Tofu manufacturing process. Comparison of hydrogen production was conducted with acid or base pre-treatment of the wastewater. Maximum hydrogen production was acquired with combination of heat and acid treatment. Hydrogen production ($P_h$) and maximum hydrogen production rate ($R_h$) was calculated 661.01 mL and 12.21 mL/g dry wt biomass/hr from the modified Gompartz equation. Most of microbial community was analyzed as Streptococcus sp. from PCR-DGGE experiment of 16S rDNA. It was concluded that most significant microorganism for hydrogen production was Streptococcus gallolyticus sub sp. in this experiment.

  • With the growth of the IoT market, malware security threats are steadily increasing for devices that use the linux architecture. However, except for the major malware causing serious security damage such as Mirai, there is no related technology or research of security community about linux malware. In addition, the diversity of devices, vendors, and architectures in the IoT environment is further intensifying, and the difficulty in handling linux malware is also increasing. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an analysis system based on ELF which is the main format of linux architecture, and a binary based analysis system considering IoT environment. The ELF-based analysis system can be pre-classified for a large number of malicious codes at a relatively high speed and a relatively low-speed binary-based analysis system can classify all the data that are not preprocessed. These two processes are supposed to complement each other and effectively classify linux-based malware.

  • Environmental awareness is rising worldwide. however, cement manufacturing facilities use recycled resources to improve raw material and fuel substitution rates, contributing to environmental issues such as waste disposal. The emission of sulfur oxides (SOx), an air pollutant, has been regulated by limestone as raw material in cement manufacturing. However, the impact of increasing use of recycled resources on future facility processes and environmental changes is unclear. Therefore, the cement manufacturing facilities require desulfurization-related technologies and research. In this study, we investigated the applicability of desulfurization technology to cement manufacturing facilities and demonstrated various approaches to applying this technology using byproducts generated in cement manufacturing.

  • Genetic variance and heritability for height growth of Populus alba${\times}$ P. glandulosa were estimated. Remarkable different between P. alba${\times}$ alba(Italy), female and P. alba naturalized in Korea was observed in the genetic variance and therefore genetic character of the P. alba${\times}$ alba(Italy) was considered better than that of P. alba. The heritability (83%) for the female was considerably high. On the other hand, P. glandulosa, pollen tree. showed narrow genetic variance and also very heritability(17%). Two(A and B) of three pollen trees showed the same trend in the genetric variance. However, the other(c) was somewhat different from A and B. Similarly, rooting ability of cuttings differed between female trees, but did not between male trees. Naturalized Pl alba showed relatively higher rooting ability than P. alba${\times}$ alba(Italy). In the pollen trees, the ability was similar in two male trees. However, the other male tree(c) was slightly poorer than the other two.

  • The physiological response of the longtooth grouper, Epinephelus bruneus to low water temperature (LWT) stress while on three different concentrations of dietary vitamin E (1 mg/diet g, 5 mg/diet g, and 10 mg /diet g) were investigated. Plasma cortisol, glucose, and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels were higher in the control and sham control compared with the vitamin E supplemented groups. The most addition with vitamin E in the diet (10 mg/diet g) showed the lowest levels of cortisol, glucose, and AST. However, plasma alanine aminotransferase (ALT) showed no significant differences across all experimental conditions (P>0.05). Also the more disposing vitamin E into feeding the better resistance against stress on the LWT was shown through cortisol, glucose, ALT, and AST.

  • ZnO 는 상온에서 3.37eV의 넓은 밴드갭과 60 meV의 엑시톤 결합에너지를 가지는 직접형 반도체로서 높은 투과성, 저가의 재료비, 비독성, 친환경적인 재료로서 발광다이오드, 디스플레이 응용분야 등 많은 부분에서 관심을 받고 있다. 유리 기판은무겁고 쉽게 깨지는 특성에도 불구하고 디스플레이 응용분야에서 폭넓게 사용되고 있으나 많은 연구자들은 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위해 플렉서블 기판위에서의 ZnO 성장 연구를 진행하고 있다 ZnO를 성장시키는 방법에는 molecular beam epitaxy (MEB), chemical vapordeposition (CVD), 그리고 atomic layer deposition (ALD)등많은 방법들이 있다. 이 연구에서 우리는 플렉서블기판의 플라즈마 전처리에 따른 ZnO의 구조적 그리고 광학적 특성에 대해 연구하였다. ZnO는 ALD 방법에 의해 성장되었고 반응물로는 temperature controlled bath 속에서 $10^{\circ}C$$30^{\circ}C$로 각각 온도를 유지시킨 diethylzinc (DEZn)과 distilled water ($H_2O$)를 사용하였다. 성장된 ZnO의 표면 morphology는atomic force microscope (AFM) 과 scanning electron microscope (SEM)으로 측정하였고, 광학적, 구조적특성은 Photoluminescence (PL)와 X-ray diffraction (XRD) 방법으로 각각으로 측정 되었다.

  • A few years ago, hotel service was not usual to the people very much but it's normally usual only for the higher-grade people. However now a days, it's expected that hotel service is universal one with changing of life style. It's rising to use hotel with being on the increasing of the international alternating so that the banquet service can be expected as the much more important service point of hotel. At the same time there are much more chances to participate in the personal parties and meetings. That means the demand is increasing than before. So every hotels are trying to promote the quality of the service, make renovation and suggest the specially distinguished service in comparison with the other hotels so as to get the banquet customers. Actually the sales amount from the banquet in the hotel can be said the biggest one in these days. That's why we cannot help thinking it the very important point at the hotel service. So we would 1ike to suggest the best way of managing hotel banquet service more efficiency and would like to find out how we can serve the higher quality service to the banquet customers in order them to make feel more satisfactory.

Study on Press-drying and Air-drying of Italian Poplar Rotary Veneer (이태리포플러 로타리 단판(單板)의 열판건조(熱板乾燥)와 천연건조(天然乾燥)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • Italian poplar (Populus euramericana) rotary veneers were press-dried and air-dried to study drying curves, thickness shrinkage and width shrinkage of them under several drying conditions such as drying temperatures and veneer thicknesses. The results of the study are summarized as follows; 1. In press-drying, drying times from green condition to about final moisture content of 10 percent with veneer thickness of 0.6mm by platen temperatures required about 10 minutes at platen temperature of $100^{\circ}C$, 3 minutes at $110^{\circ}C$, 1 minute at $120^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$, respectively. 2. In press, drying, drying times from green condition to about final moisture content of 10 percent by veneer thicknesses required 2 minutes at veneer thickness of 0.6mm, 4 minutes at 1.2mm,6 minutes at 1.8mm and 9 minutes at 3.6mm, respectively. 3. In air-drying, drying times from green condition to air-dried moisture content by veneer thicknesses required 15 hours at veneer thickness of 0.6mm, 18 hours at 1.2mm and 23 hours at 2.4mm, respectively. 4. Thickness shrinkage of press-drying was remarkably greater than that of air-drying, but width shrinkage of press-drying was rather smaller. 5. Difference of thickness shrinkage among platen temperatures was insignificant, and width shrinkage at platen temperature of $130^{\circ}C$ was the least.

Study on the course of air-drying of red pine and Italian poplar boards (소나무와 이태리포플러 판재(板材)의 천연건조(天然乾燥)에 관(關)한 시험(試驗))

  • This Study was carried out to investigate the course of air-drying and drying defects of red pine (Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) and Italian poplar (Populus eurameriana I-476) boards 1,2 and 3cm thick in the flat pile. The results are as follows. 1. Air-drying curves for red pine and Italian poplar boards were same as figure 1 and 2. These moisture contents were lower in July and August during seasoning periods. 2. Air drying time of red pine board required to dry 15 percent moisture content in one week for 1 cm board, five weeks for 2 cm board and six weeks for 3cm board respectively. In case of Italian poplar boards, in one week for 1 cm board, four weeks for 2 cm and five weeks for 3 cm board. The thickness of board influenced the time for air drying. 3. Drying defects such as checking, warping and staining happened badly in pine than in Italian poplar boards. Especially, checking was severe in thicker board and warping in thinner board.

A Neural Net System Self-organizing the Distributed Concepts for Speech Recognition (음성인식을 위한 분산개념을 자율조직하는 신경회로망시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a neural net system for speech recognition, which is composed of two neural networks. Firstly the self-supervised BP(Back Propagation) network generates the distributed concept corresponding to the activity pattern in the hidden units. And then the self-organizing neural network forms a concept map which directly displays the similarity relations between concepts. By doing the above, the difficulty in learning the conventional BP network is solved and the weak side of BP falling into a pattern matcher is gone, while the strong point of generating the various internal representations is used. And we have obtained the concept map which is more orderly than the Kohonen's SOFM. The proposed neural net system needs not any special preprocessing and has a self-learning ability.
