Correlation between Lithium Concentration and Ecotoxicoloigy in Lithium Contained Waste Water (리튬 함유 폐액에서의 리튬 농도와 생태독성과의 연관성 연구)

  • Demand for lithium-based secondary batteries is greatly increasing with the explosive growth of related industries, such as mobile devices and electric vehicles. In Korea, there are several top-rated global lithium-ion battery manufacturers accounting for 40% of the global secondary battery business. Most discarded lithium secondary batteries are recycled as scrap to recover valuable metals, such as Nickel and Cobalt, but residual wastes are disposed of according to the residual lithium-ion concentration. Furthermore, there has not been an attempt on the possibility of water discharge system contamination due to the concentration of lithium ions, and the effluent water quality standards of public sewage treatment facilities are becoming stricter year after year. In this study, the as-received waste water generated from the cathode electrode coating process in the manufacturing of high-nickel-based NCM cathode material used for high-performance and long-term purposes was analyzed. We suggested a facile recycling process chart for waste water treatment. We revealed a correlation between lithium-ion concentration and pH effect according to the proposed waste water of each recycling process through analyzing standard water quality tests and daphnia ecological toxicity. We proposed a realistic waste water treatment plan for lithium electrode manufacturing plants via comparison with other industries' ecotoxicology.

A View on the Deviation of Content Elements of Quadratic Curve in High School Geometry Textbooks (고등학교 기하 교과서 이차곡선 내용 요소 편차에 대한 소고(小考))

  • This study looked at the deviation of each textbook, focusing on the detailed learning content related to the quadratic curve properties contained in high school geometry textbooks. Rather than criticizing the diversity of content elements covered in high school geometry textbooks and suggesting alternatives, it focused on analyzing the actual conditions of content element diversity. The curriculum specifies that the practical application of the quadratic curve should be emphasized so that student could recognize the usefulness and value. However, as a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the purpose of the curriculum and the structure of the textbook did not match somewhat, the deviation of content elements for each textbook was quite large. In terms of acknowledging the diversity of teaching and learning, the diversity of each textbook on the methods of the introduction and the natures related to the quadratic curve can be fully recognized. But in our educational reality, which is aiming for the university entrance examination system through national evaluation such as CSAT, the results are too sensitive in society as a whole, so the diversity of expressions in mathematics textbooks is sometimes interpreted as a disadvantage of evaluation. It is time to reconsider the composition of textbooks that recognizes the diversity of content elements in textbook teaching and learning and at the same time reflects the aspect of equality in evaluation.

Understanding Voluntary Disaster Workers with Their Burnout Pattern and the Group Differences in Secondary Traumatic Stress and World Assumptions (재난 자원봉사인력의 소진 양상에 따른 이차외상스트레스와 세상에 대한 신념의 차이)

  • As the role of volunteers in disaster settings has been growing overtime, the present study was aimed to understand voluntary disaster workers with their burnout pattern and examine group differences in their secondary traumatic stress and world assumptions. Total of 70 voluntary workers who served for recovery from Sewol ferry disaster participated in this study. Using cluster analysis, we identified three distinct cluster groups on the basis of three burnout subscale scores(emotional exhaustion, personal accomplishment, depersonalization): Group 1 was characterized by the highest score on personal accomplishment and low levels of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. Group 2 scored the highest on emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, and relatively high on personal accomplishment. Group 3 was characterized by the lowest scores on three subscales. Results from χ2 tests showed that groups differed significantly on types and the period of support activities. Analysis of variance was conducted to identify further group differences. The results indicated that Group 2 scored the highest on secondary traumatic stress, while Group 1 scored the highest on worthiness of the self. Finally, the clinical implications and limitations of these results as well as suggestions for further research were discussed.

  • A two-dimensional Lagrangian finite-difference computer program is developed for the wave propagation analysis of impact phenomena. The numerical scheme is the standard method originally proposed by Von Neuman and Richtmyer, using artificial viscosity to smooth shock fronts. The material model used in the study is the standard hydrodynamic-elastic-plastic relations with Von-Mises yield criterion. A test configuration consisted of a target and a projectile were calculated to understand the response of a colliding event. However, the computer code is in plane strain, the calculations were intended for generating the qualitative features of the model behaviors. Nevertheless, the computational results were consistent with the experimental observations and provided a rational basis to interpret the modes of failures.

  • In this paper, we propose a new discrete logarithm problem(DLP) based on the class semigroups of imaginary quadratic non-maximal orders using the special character of non-invertible ideal and analysis its security. To do this, we first explain the mathematical background explicitly and prove some properties of Cls (O) which relate to constructing the DLP and guaranteeing the security. To test the security of the proposed DLP, we compare the class number of the maximal order with that of the non-maximal order and investigate the unique factorization problems of ideals between class groups of the maximal orders and class semigroups of non-maximal orders to ensure the security of the cryptosystem.

  • An experimental research program providing knowledge to measure two-dimensional skin friction variation over a certain region of model surface is presented. In the oil-fringe imaging skin friction(FISF) technique, local slope of a thin oil applied on a test surface is measured from the interference fringe patterns on the oil surface, and its information is then related to the applied shear over the oil by the thin-oil lubrication theory. The FISF technique has been applied for a separation flowfield ahead of a circular cylinder vertically mounted on a flat plate, and it has been found that the FISF skin friction results show good comparison with the other numerical/experimental data obtained for similar conditions. implying an applicability of the technique.

  • A study on the required propulsion powers at the EAV2 electric propulsion vehicle using power system such as solar cell, fuel cell and secondary cell is conducted, through which the scenario about available supply power is discussed at the optimum propulsion system weight on the specified flight envelope. In the result, it is noticed that propulsion system weight is 7.06kg and fuelcell 500W and secondary cell 100W are available to flight for glider-type electric vehicle with 6m length, 0.35m width.

  • 리륨이차전지의 용량의 증가를 위한 연구에 많은 노력과 재원이 투자되고 잇는 반면에, 용량과 성능증가 추세가 주춤한 최근에는 전지의 안전성에 큰 관심이 집중되고 있다. 그 이유는 전지의 성능 못지않게 안전성에 대한 의구심이 꾸준히 제기되고 있고, 대용량 고출력전지의 대표적인 예이 자동차용 전지에는 안전성에 대한 보장이 선결되어야 하기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 유기 전해액의 발화 및 폭발을 방지할수 있는 방법 중에서 첨가제에 의한 방법을 이용하여 그 첨가제의 전기화학적 특성 및 열적 안정성을 살펴보고 리튬이온전지에의 적용 가능성을 알아보았다. 특히 포스파젠 화합물들을 소량(1~5wt.%)첨가하여, 양극소재의 발열온도를 $60^{\circ}C$ 이상 지연시키고, 사이클 특성의 향상 및 용량의 증가도 실현함으로서 포스파젠 화합물의 유효성을 증명하였다. 아래의 Fig1은 Hexamethoxy cyclo tri-phosphazene(HMTP) 이라는 화합물의 난연성을 표기한 것인데, $270^{\circ}C$ 부근의 background peak가 $340^{\circ}C$까지 지연됨을 보여주고 있다.

Nano-Powder 제조를 위한 RF Thermal Plasma Torch System 개발 및 Nano-Si 특성 연구

  • 국내에는 나노 분말 제조를 위한 RF 열플라즈마 시스템 제조 기술이 확보되어 있지 않고, 또한 나노 파우더 제조를 위한 공정 기술 역시 외국 업체에 전적으로 의존하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 나노 분말 제조를 위한 RF 열 플라즈마 토치 시스템 개발과 고품질의 나노 파우더 합성 공정 기술을 확립하여 필요 기관에 제공하는데 있다. 80 kW RF Plasma torch system의 설계 및 제작을 위해 플라즈마 Simulator인 CFD-ACE+를 이용하여 플라즈마 토치 및 반응로 내의 온도 분포, 유체 유동, 열전달 등의 해석을 통해 플라즈마 토치 및 반응로의 반경 및 길이, 구조의 설계 값을 도출하여 반응로를 설계하여 RF 파워, RF 플라즈마 토치(Torch), 반응기(Reactor), 사이클론(Cyclone), 포집부(Collector), 열교환기 및 진공배기 시스템으로 구성하였다. Si 나노 소재의 경우, 이차전지 음극재에 적용이 가능한 대표적인 소재로서 높음 비용량과 충/방전시 부피팽창을 감소시킬 수 있어 이차전지의 고용량 구현을 위해서는 가장 중요한 소재중 하나로 많은 관심 재료로 평가 받고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 상용화된 Si 원료 powder를 사용하여 고상 분체 공급 장치를 통하여 고온의 플라즈마를 통과시켜 기상화 및 결정화과정을 통해 Si 나노분말을 제조하였다. 공정 변수로서 공정압력 및 플라즈마 power, Gas의 변화량에 따른 나노 분말의 제조 특성에 대한 실험을 진행한 후 제조된 나노 분말을 비표면적측정(BET) 및 SEM 측정 결과 분석을 통하여 시스템 특성을 파악하였으며 제조된 Si 나노 파우더는 이차전지 음극재로서 770 mAh/g의 용량과 93%@50 cycle 수준의 유지율을 나타내었다.

Analysis of Mathematics Teachers' Mathematical Content Knowledge about Quadratic Curves (수학교사의 이차곡선에 관한 내용지식의 분석)

  • The purpose of this paper was to investigate mathematics teachers' mathematical content knowledge about quadratic curves. Three components of mathematical knowledge are needed for teaching: (i) knowing school mathematics, (ii) knowing process of school mathematics, (iii) making connections between school mathematics and advanced mathematics. 24 mathematics teachers were asked to perform 10 questions based on mathematics curriculum. The results showed that mathematics teachers had some difficulties in conic section definitions and eccentricity definitions of ellipse and hyperbola. And they also got difficulty in Dandellin sphere proof of the equivalence of conic section definitions and quadratic curve definitions. Especially, no one answered correctly to the question about the definition of eccentricity. The ratio of correct answer for the question about constructing tangent lines of quadratic curves is less than that for the question about the applications of the properties of tangent lines. These findings suggests that it is needed that to provide plenty of opportunities to learn mathematical content knowledge in teacher education programs.
