  • 연료전지 스택을 구성하는 핵심 부품 중 하나인 분리판(Bipolar plate)은 반응 연료인 수소와 산소를 분리하여 셀(cell)의 전면적에 균일하게 분배, 공급, 배기 및 전기화학반응에 의해 생성된 전류를 수집하며, 높은 가스밀폐성, 전기전도성 및 내식성이 요구된다. 분리판 소재로는 흑연, 고분자-탄소 복합체 및 금속 등이 사용되고 있으며, 이중 연료전지 스택의 부피, 무게 및 제조비용 감소를 위하여 금속분리판이 주목받고 있다. 그러나 금속분리판의 경우 연료전지 작동환경에서 부식반응에 의한 이온 용출로 인해 전극촉매나 고분자전해질막의 오염을 유발할 수 있다는 단점이 있어 최근 금속계 분리판의 코팅을 통하여 분리판의 내식특성 및 전기적 특성을 향상시키는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다.

Dual Plate Fixation for Periprosthetic Femur Fracture after Total Knee Arthroplasty (슬관절 전치환술 후 발생한 대퇴골 삽입물 주위 골절의 이중 금속판 고정술)

  • Purpose: This study evaluated the results of dual plate fixation for periprosthetic femur fracture after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Materials and Methods: From October 2007 to February 2013, 23 cases of periprosthetic femur fracture after TKA were treated at the author's hospital. There were 13 cases of fixation using a medial and lateral dual plate when the stability of the fracture site could not be achieved by one side fixation with a follow-up of more than one year. The cases included no loosening of the femoral component in fractures that were categorized as Lewis-Rorabeck classification II and supracondylar comminuted fractures and elongation of the fracture line to the lateral epicondyle of the femur or stem in the medullary canal. The mean age was 72 years (65-82 years), and 11 cases were female. Three cases had a stem due to revision. The mean bone marrow density was -3.2 (-1.7 to -4.4), and the mean period from primary TKA to periprosthetic fractures was 28 months (1-108 months). The mean follow-up period was 23 months (12-65 months). The medial fracture site was first exposed via the subvastus approach. Second, the supplementary plate was fixed on the lateral side of the fracture using a minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis technique. The average union time, complications, and Hospital for Special Surgery Knee Score (HSS) at the last follow-up were evaluated. Results: The mean union time was 17.4 weeks (7-40 weeks). Two cases showed delayed bone union and nonunion occurred in one case, in whom bone union was achieved three months later after re-fixation using a dual plate with an autogenous bone graft. The mean varusvalgus angulation was 1.67 degrees (-1.2-4.9 degrees), and the mean anterior-posterior angulation was 2.86 degrees (0-4.9 degrees) at the last follow-up. The mean knee range of motion was 90 degrees, and the HSS score was 85 points (70-95 points) at the last follow-up. Conclusion: Dual plate fixation for periprosthetic femur fractures that had not achieved stability by one side plate fixation after TKA showed a good clinical result that allowed early rehabilitation.

Clinical and Radiological Results of Treating Unstable Distal Radial Fractures with a Domestically Developed Volar Locking Plate That Has the Characteristic of Double-Tiered Subchondral Support (불안정성 원위 요골 골절의 치료에 있어 한국형 이중 연골하지지고정 전방 금속판의 임상적 및 방사선학적 결과)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of domestically developed volar locking plate which has the concept of double-tiered subchondral support (DSS) in maintaining the reduction after distal radial fracture surgery. Materials and Methods: From July 2017 to December 2018, 54 patients were assessed. Plain radiographs were obtained immediately after surgery and at the last follow-up, and the radiographic parameters were measured in those images: radial length, radial inclination, volar tilt, ulnar variance, and distal dorsal cortical distance. The patients were subdivided into their age, type of fracture, and the position of the plate to evaluate the influence of each factors on the reduction maintenance. Results: Distal dorsal cortical distance in radiographs after the surgery was 5.91 mm (standard deviation, ±1.95 mm) on average. Significant differences in the radial length (p=0.038) and ulnar variance (p=0.001) were observed between immediately after surgery and at the last follow-up. When the parameters were evaluated by dividing the patients into subgroups according to the three specific factors, the ulnar variance showed a significant increase at the last follow-up when the patients were included 65-years-old or older. AO/OTA type C3 fracture, and Soong classification grade 0 plate position (p=0.007, p=0.012, p=0.046, respectively). Conclusion: Using the domestically developed DSS-type volar locking plate, significant reduction after distal radial fracture surgery could be maintained successfully. On the other hand, further study will be needed to determine about the reduction loss of the lunate facet identified in special cases that deal with fractures in elderly patients, unstable AO/OTA type C3 distal radial fractures, and Soong classification grade 0 plate position.

  • Isolated fractures of lower sacrum are commonly treated conservatively in most cases because of low energy damage and stable fracture. However, surgical treatment is required in displaced unstable fracture. But the surgical technique is not established and even case reports are not common. We reported a case of displaced transverse fracture of the lower sacrum that was treated with an open reduction and dual plate fixation.

  • In this paper, the authors present a new design for a dual-band metamaterial(MTM) absorber that utilizes resonant-magnetic inclusion of a split-ring resonator(SRR). The proposed MTM unit cell is constructed by two open complementary split-ring resonators(OCSRRs) and an SRR arrangement. To avoid the need for metallic back plate a planar array of SRRs for resonant-magnetic inclusion is placed facing toward the incident wave propagation direction. Each unit cell is printed on the two sides of a FR-4 substrate. A prototype absorber was fabricated with a planar array of $39{\times}39$ unit cells, and measured. The proposed backplane-less absorber can be used for microwave applications.

Design of Metamaterial-Inspired FSS Sub-Reflector for a Dual-Band Offset Cassegrain Reflector Antenna (이중대역 오프셋 카세그레인 반사판 안테나용 메타재질구조 모사 주파수 선택표면 부반사판 설계)

  • In this paper, a design of an offset Cassegrain antenna is proposed for Ku and Ka dual-band without increasing the antenna size. For Efficiency of computation and implementation, the frequency selectivity surface (FSS) of reflecting the Ka-band signal and passing the Ku-band is provided for the sub-reflector instead of the main reflector. The proposed FSS hyperboloid sub-reflector is the periodic structure of a unit cell comprising octagon metal rings embedded in the multiple layers. The proposed design is verified for 19 GHz and 45 GHz bands by the use of precise electromagneitc-field simulations.

  • We design a displaced-axis Gregorian dual antenna in the form of a metal reflectarray antenna for millimeter wave region, W-band. Unlike a reflectarray composed of printed patch antennas on a dielectric substrate, metallic rectangular waveguide unit-cells are proposed to avoid the loss of substrate and take an advantage of ease of typical metal machining fabrication. In this paper, the radiation characteristics of constructed metal reflectarray antennas show ultra high-gain antenna over 50 dBi at a target frequency in W-band. The experimental measurements are conducted in millimeter-wave compact range antenna measurement system.

  • 빛 에너지를 전기에너지로 변환하는 발전소자인 태양전지는 청정 재생 에너지원으로 최근 Si 박막 태양전지의 고 효율화를 위해 여러 기술적인 면에서 개발되어지고 있다. 현재 박막형 태양전지는 실리콘계가 주류를 이루고 있으며, 유리 혹은 유연성기판(금속 or 고분자)에 비정질 실리콘 박막을 형성시킨 태양전지와 실리콘웨이퍼의 양면에 태양전지를 형성함으로써 효율을 극대화시킨 이종접합태양전지 등이 연구되고 있다. 특히 flexible 태양전지는 hard 기판에 비해 비교적 저가인 플라스틱 필름과 금속 foil을 기판으로 이용함으로서 저가화가 용이하며, 가볍고 유연성을 갖추고 있어 휴대와 시공에 있어 매우 우수한 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 flexible 기판(stainless steel)을 이용하여 태양전지 내 반사막 층이 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 AZO/Ag 이중구조 박막의 특성을 연구하였다. RF magnetron sputtering system을 이용하였으며, 상온에서 Ag/AZO 이중구조 박막을 제조하였다. stainless steel 기판 위에 Ag층을 25nm 두께로 증착하였으며 연속공정으로 AZO 박막을 100~500nm의 두께경사를 가지도록 성장시켰다. 이 때의 AZO/Ag 이중구조 박막의 표면 morphology는 AFM 분석결과 7nm~3nm의 값을 나타내었으며, AZO 박막의 두께가 증가할수록 rms 값이 감소하는 경향을 보여주었다. 본 발표에서는 flexible 기판 상에 성장된 AZO/Ag 이중구조 박막의 전기적, 광학적 특성 등에 관하여 추가적으로 토론한 후 태양전지 효율 중 흡수층 내 반사막 층이 미치는 역할을 알아보겠다.

A Study on Stress Concentration Factor of Composite Laminate Mechanical Joints (복합재료 적층판 기계적 체결부 응력집중계수에 대한 고찰)

  • In this paper, the results of composite laminate mechanical joints test(ASTM D5961) are compared with the theoretical strength calculations and FEM analysis results. To calculate the S.C.F.(stress concentration factor) on joint strength, equations on metallic and composite materials in ASM Handbook used and compared with experimental results. The difference of joint strength are compared by geometrical parameters and joining types(single/double lap joint). In FEM analysis, to find efficient FEM model on composite laminate mechanical joint, several FEM models are compared with experimental test results.
