  • At the engineering and industrial areas, the lightweight composite material has been substituted with the metals, such as steel at the structural parts. This composite material has been applied by the adhesive bonding method, as well as the joint methods with rivets, welds or bolts and nuts. The study on the strength characteristics of adhesive interface is necessarily required in order to apply the method to composite materials. CFRP specimens as the fiber reinforced plastic composites were manufactured easily and this study was carried out. The static experiments were performed under the loading conditions of in-plane and out-plane shears with the inhomogeneous composite TDCB specimens with CFRP, aluminum (Al6061), and aluminum foam (Al-foam). Through the result of this study, the durability on the inhomogeneous composite structure with adhesive interface was investigated by examining the fracture characteristic and the point in time.

Numerical Investigation on Heat Transfer Characteristics for Natural Convection Flows in a Doubly-Inclined Cubical-Cavity (이중으로 경사진 3차원 캐비티내 자연대류 열전달 특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • Three-dimensional heat transfer characteristics for natural convection flows are numerically investigated in the doubly-inclined cubical-cavity according to the variation of a newly defined orientation angle �� of the hot wall surface from horizontal plane at moderate Rayleigh numbers. Numerical simulations of laminar flows are conducted in the range of Rayleigh numbers($10^4{\leq}Ra{\leq}10^5$) and $0^{\circ}{\leq}{\alpha}90^{circ}$ with a solution code(PowerCFD) employing unstructured cell-centered method. Comparisons of the average Nusselt number at the cold face are made with benchmark solutions and experimental results found in the literature. It is found that the average Nusselt number at the cold wall has a maximum value around the specified orientation ${\alpha}$ at each Rayleigh number. Special attention is also paid to three-dimensional thermal characteristics in natural convection according to new orientation angles at Ra��= $1{\times}10^5$, in order to investigate a new additional heat transfer characteristic found in the range of above Ra = $6{\times}10^4$.

  • This study is investigated by experiments and analyses at rates of 2.5m/s, 7.5m/s and 12.5m/s on the impact of tapered double cantilever beam specimens with aluminium alloy. It aims to examine the mechanical property of aluminum alloy by evaluating energy release rate and equivalent stress happened at the bonded part of specimen. Because bonding force remains after the separation of specimen, the energy release rate at the bonded part becomes highest. As crack propagates and the high stress happens at the end of the bonded part, the maximum equivalent stress becomes higher at the last stage, regardless of impact rate. These results of experiments and analyses are the data necessary to develop the safe design of composite material to prevent crack propagation due to impact.

  • The intercalated compounds of alkylsulfonates into hydrated zinc were synthesized. From the high temperature powder X-ray diffraction (HTXRD), FT-IR, and molecular size, the temperature dependence of orientation for the intercalated alkylsulfonates were determined. In the temperatures range 1, alkylsulfonates were intercalated into hexa aqua zinc layer with the bilayer structure of $32.9^{\circ}$angle for ${Zn(H_2O_4]^{2+}[C_nH_{2n+1}SO_3]_2\;^-$. In the temperatures range 2, alkylsulfonates were intercalated into tetra aqua zinc layer with the bilayer structure of $55.2^{\circ}$angle for ${Zn(C_nH_{2n+1}SO_3)_2$. In the temperatures range 3, alkylsulfonates were directly bonded to zinc ion with the bilayer structure of $76.5^{\circ}$angle for ${Zn(C_nH_{2n+1}SO_3)_2$.

  • 본 논문에서는 이중 푸리에 사인시리즈를 통한 해석법으로 경계조건과 내부 구속조건을 라그랑지 상수들과 스토크 변환법으로 해결하는 방법이며 내부에 변위가 구속되는 평판의 경우에 대하여 FEM 프로그램인 NASTRAN과 본 방법으로 계산한 결과를 고찰하였으며 S-S-S-S의 경계조건에 내부구속조건이 있는 경우 FEM 계산값과 거의 일치하며 F-C-F-F 경우는 5차 모우드에서 최대 3% 정도의 오차를 보이고 있다. 그리고 그 밖의 다른 경계조건의 경우에도 진동해석시 적용이 가능하다. 위의 해석 결과들을 통해 여러 경계조건을 갖는 평판에 내부 구속조건을 갖는 경우 진동해석시 타당한 접근 방법이라 할 수 있다. 앞으로 본 방법을 이용하여 보강판에 여러 경계조건이 구속되어 있는 경우 진동해석에도 이용되어질 수 있다.

An Improvement of the Field Uniformity inside the Reverberation Chamber with Inclined QRD Set (경사진 QRD를 이용한 전자파 잔향실 내 전자기장 균일도 향상을 위한 연구)

  • The field uniformity inside the reverberation chamber has been improved using sets of quadratic residue diffuser (QRD). The electromagnetic field inside the reverberation chamber with the dimension of $100{\times}80{\times}80cm$ has been analyzed by the finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) method. The calculated fields in a $40{\times}30{\times}30cm$ test volume have been sampled to obtain a standard deviation and field uniformity. Results show that the standard deviation of the calculated field and uniformity have been improved by varying angles and orientation of the inclined surfaces of the QRDs installed inside the reverberation chamber.

  • Natural convection flows in a doubly-inclined cubical air-filled cavity are numerically simulated by a solution code(PowerCFD) using unstructured cell-centered method. For a physical realizability, the cavity has one pair of opposing isothermal faces at different temperatures, $T_h\;and\;T_c$, respectively, the remaining four faces having a linear variation from $T_c\;to\;T_h$. The paper redefines a new doubly-inclined orientation for the cubical-cavity benchmark problem. Special attention is paid to three-dimensional thermal characteristics in natural convection according to the new orientation at $Ra=4\times10^4$. Comparisons of the average Nusselt number at the cold face are made with benchmark solutions and experimental results found in the literature. It is found that the average Nusselt number at the cold face has a maximum value at the doubly-inclined angle ranging from $40^{\circ}\;to\; 45^{\circ}$ We also report the effect of new orientation on the type of temperature structure in a doubly-inclined cubical-cavity.

Thermal behavior of the layered structure of decanesulfonate intercalated into the hydrated nickel compound (데칸술폰이 삽입된 니켈 화합물의 층상 구조의 열적 성질)

  • The synthesis and characterization of intercalated compound of decansulfonate into hydrated nickel is presented. The compound shows a layered structure as determined by high temperature powder X-ray diffraction (HTXRD). The layer distance of the product is increased from 24.7 $\AA$ to 30.5 $\AA$ by increasing the temperature which is in turn accomplished by changing the structure of the intercalated nickel compound. From the X-ray diffraction data and the decanesulfonate size, the orientation of the decanesulfonate onto the nickel layer is determined. The molecular axis of the decanesulfonate with bilayer structure is tilted to the perpendicular of the nickel layer.

경사유로내에서 유동비등에 관한 실험적 연구

  • 비등이 발생하는 경사유로에서 이상유동 구조 파악을 위해 국부적 이상유동 변수의 측정이 이루어졌다. 국부 기포율, 국부 기포빈도, 국부기포속도 그리고 국부 기포크기와 같은 기상 관련 이상유동변수는 이중 전기전도도 탐침으로, 액상속도 분포는 Pilot tuba로 측정하였다. 유로의 경사도가 이상유동 구조에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 실험은 수직, 수직으로부터 30도 경사도 및 60도 경사도에서 유량과 열유속을 변화시켜가며 수행하였으며 유동변수의 측정은 경사진 경우에 측면 방향으로의 대칭성을 고려하여 유로 반 단면내 총 91개 지점에서, 수직인 경우에는 13개 지점에서 이루어졌다. 유동조건은 1.4m/s 이하의 평균 액상 겉보기 속도에 제한되었고 유로내 압력은 대기압이며 유동양식은 미포화 비등에 국한되었다. 측정된 이상유동 변수의 분포를 이용하여 경사유로에 적용할 수 있는 distribution parameter와 drift velocity 같은 dirft flux parameter에 대한 상관식이 개발되었다.

An Investigation on the Behavior of Fracture Mechanics as the Type of Mode I at Specimen Bonded with Tapered Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (경사진 CFRP로 접합된 시험편에서의 Mode 1 형 파괴역학적 거동에 관한 연구)

  • This paper aims at estimating the fracture behavior at the bonded part of composite material. CFRP is manufactured as the type of TDCB. The static analysis of Mode 1 due to the configuartion factor of m is carried out. Four kinds of specimens have the configuartion factor(m) of 2, 2.5, 3 and 3.5. As the study result, the displacements at specimens are shown to be similar each other in these four cases. At m of 3.5, the reaction force becomes highest as 412 N and is shown to be improved as much as 14% by comparing m of 2. The data on defection of the bonded interface and reaction force are thought to be contributed to the structural design of CFRP and the safe design.
