Improved Stability of GaN-based Hydrogen Sensor with SnO2 Nanoparticles/Pd Catalyst Layer Using UV Illumination (자외선 조사를 이용한 SnO2 나노입자/Pd 촉매층을 갖는 GaN 기반 수소 센서의 안정성 개선 연구)

  • An AlGaN/GaN heterojunction-based hydrogen sensor with SnO2 nanoparticles/Pd catalyst layer was fabricated for room-temperature hydrogen detection. The fabricated sensor exhibited unstable drift in standby current when it was operated at room temperature. The instability in the sensing signal was dramatically improved when the sensor was operated under UV illumination.

  • A fiber Bragg grating sensor is considered a smart sensor that shows outstanding performance in the field of structural health monitoring (SHM). It has a powerful advantage, especially that of multiplexing, which enables several parameters to be sensed at multiple points by using a single optical fiber line. Among several parameters, the thermal expansion coefficient and thermo-optic coefficient are required to measure temperature. In previous studies, these were considered constant variables. This study shows that two parameters vary with temperature and newly proposes a temperature function for these two parameters. Specifically, these two parameters were defined as a single variable, and then, it was experimentally verified that this variable is a function of temperature. Finally, it was shown that temperature from RT to $100^{\circ}C$ was precisely measured by using the temperature function that was defined through the experiment.

A Strong Anonymity Scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 강한 익명성 지원 구조)

  • In the sensor network security area, previous works were mainly concentrated on achieving authentication, confidentiality, integrity and availability. But the ID exposure issue is recently an increasing concern in research community. To protect the ID exposure from various attacks, the most common approach is to make use of a dynamic pseudonym rather than the real ID. However, if a node's secret key (or hash key) and the current pseudonym (such as a random number) are exposed, the attacker can easily generate the previous/next pseudonyms. In this paper, we propose a security infra-structure scheme for enabling strong anonymity of sensor nodes. Our scheme ensures that the probability being able to generate a pseudonym is very low even if a sensor node has been compromised with an attacker. Security analyses have proven that our scheme is suitable for sensor network environments in terms of preserving of forward anonymity as well as backward anonymity.

Design of BiCMOS Signal Conditioning Circuitry for Piezoresistive Pressure Sensor (압저항형 압력센서를 위한 BiCMOS 신호처리회로의 설계)

  • In this paper, we have designed signal conditioning circuitry for piezoresistive pressure sensor. Signal conditioning circuitry consists of voltage reference circuit for sensor driving voltage and instrument amplifier for sensor signal amplification. Signal conditioning circuitry is simulated using HSPICE in a single poly double metal $1.5\;{\mu}m$ BiCMOS technology. Simulation results of band-gap reference circuit showed that temperature coefficient of $21\;ppm/^{\circ}C$ at the temperature range of $0\;{\sim}\;70^{\circ}C$ and PSRR of 80 dB. Simulation results of BiCMOS amplifier showed that dc voltage gain, offset voltage, CMRR, CMR and PSRR are outperformed to CMOS and Bipolar, but power dissipation and noise voltage were more improved in CMOS than BiCMOS and Bipolar. Designed signal conditioning circuitry showed high input impedance, low offset and good CMRR, therefore, it is possible to apply sensor and instrument signal conditioning circuitry.

Improvement in Sensitivity by Increasing the Frequency of SAW Sensors for DNA Detection (DNA 측정용 SAW 센서의 주파수 증대에 의한 감도향상)

  • In this paper. we have studied improvement in sensitivity by increasing the frequency of SAW sensors for detecting the immobilization and hybridization of DNA. The sensor consists of twin SAW delay lines operating at 200MHz, a sensing channel and a reference channel. fabricated on $36^{\circ}$ rotated Y-cut X-propagation $LiTaO_3$ crystals. The optimum concentration of probe and target DNA was decided for the improvement of detection mechanism. and digital syringe pump system was used to reduce the human errors. The hybridization between immobilized probe DNA and target DNA on the gold-coated delay line results in mass loading on the delay line of the sensing channel. Thus, the relative frequency change was monitored in relation to the mass loading. The measurement results showed a good response of the sensor to the DNA hybridization with a maximum sensitivity level up to 0.066ng/m1/Hz.

  • Thanks to various benefits, low-cost real-time communication networks so called fieldbus have been widely used in many industrial applications including military systems, such as aircrafts, submarines, and robots. This paper presents a reliability analysis of dual-channel CAN(Controller Area Network) fieldbus which is used for controlling various equipment of submarine combat system. A submarine combat system playing a critical role to the success of missions and survivability consists of various devices including sensors/actuators and computers. Since a communication network for submarine combat system must satisfy an extremely high level of reliability, a dual channel technique is commonly adopted. In this paper, a Petri Net based reliability model for dual-channel CAN is discussed. A reliability model called generalized stochastic Petri Nets (GSPN) is built by utilizing the information on physical faults with CAN. The effectiveness of the proposed model is analyzed in terms of unreliability with respect to failure rate and repair rate.

  • Smart Phone devices offer convenience for users, but present a new set of security issues due to loss or malicious code. In this paper, a mobile cloud system environment is used with existing smart phones in an attempt to solve the problems in a banking environment. In order to prevent financial damages due to loss or personal information leakage by malicious code, a mobile cloud computing service that provides control and protection of personal information in environment that ensures individual authentication is used. Existing ID / Password with certificate, with the way smart phone dual password authentication scheme using the gyro sensors proposed.

  • Using a actuator to which the motor and the gear is applied to the I-PD control method and a dual-loop system to carry out precise position control. I-PD control algorithm performs an operation to reduce the overshoot in the transient response. Accordingly, the actuator obtains a precise position tracking result. Also it utilizes two sensors and dual loops. It reduces the adverse effect on the precise position control that may occur by the end play of the gear train. In this paper, we uses the actuator model applying the BLDC motor and gear in order to determine the position tracking result by the dynamic characteristic change. It was verified by the simulation results.

  • 토양수분량 측정은 대표적으로 유전율을 측정하는 방식으로 토양수분 측정을 수행하고 있으며 비교적 정확하고 연속적인 자료를 수집할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 하지만 토양수분량은 인근의 동종(homogeneous)의 지형일지라도 측정 위치에 따라 값과 변화 특성의 차이가 발생한다. 이는 각 지점마다 토양, 식생, 지형 등의 다양한 환경 때문에 발생하며, 이러한 다양한 환경을 모두 고려하여 분석하기란 쉽지 않다. 이를 극복하기 위해 시간적 안정성 해석(Temporal stability analysis) 개념을 통해 기 설치된 토양수분의 지속적인 토양수분 패턴을 식별하고 선택된 대표 센서 위치에서 전체적인 평균을 산출하는 연구가 있었으며, 미국에서도 위성을 활용한 지상검증 연구를 위해 측정 그리드(grid)별로 시간적 안정성 해석 개념을 통해 지상 측정 네트워크 체계를 갖추었다. 국내에서도 최근 인공위성을 활용하여 토양수분을 산정하는 연구가 많아짐에 따라 측정 지역의 대표 토양수분 값을 선정하는 연구의 수요가 증가하였으며 수문자료의 지속성을 위해 결측을 최소화 방안으로 관측소 이중화 지점을 선정하는 연구의 필요성도 증가하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존에 설치되어있는 설마천, 청미천 토양수분 관측소에 구역별 시간 안정성 해석법을 수행하여 추후 지점의 대표 토양수분을 산정할 수 있으며 이중화 설치 지점을 제시하는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Power Control of a Doubly Fed Induction Machine for Wind Energy Generation without Rotational Transducers (풍력발전을 위한 회전변환기가 없는 이중여자 유도기의 전력제어)

  • 본 논문에서는 이중여자 유도기를 풍력발전에 적용할 때 회전자위치 센서를 사용하지 않고 발전 출력제어 방법을 제안하였다. 모델기를 풍력발전에 적용하여 운전할 때 고정자는 계통선에 연결되어 있기 때문에 고정자 자속은 일정 값을 가지며 고정자 자속의 동기 각\ulcorner고는 일정한 상수값을 가진다. 또한 회전자 전류 및 고정자 전압과 전류를 이용하여 슬립각을 추정함으로써 속도를 추정할 수 있고 뿐만 아니라 회전자 전류제어에 의해 고정자측의 발전전력을 제어할 수가 있다. 이른 토대로 속도제어 및 발전출력에 대한 결과를 나타내므로써 제안한 알로리즘의 타당성을 입증하였다.
