A Study on the Development of Automatic Manufactured Urban 3D Model by Using Numerical Map (수치지도를 이용한 3차원 도시공간모델 소프트웨어 개발에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 조정을 거친 수치지도를 이용하여 3차원 도시공간모델을 생성하는 자동제작기를 제안하는 것이다. 일반적인 디지털 도시공간모탤 제작방식에 대해 분석하여 3차원 도시공간모델 제작에 필요한 소요정보 및 공간제작함수(기능, Method} 등을 추출한다. 수치지도에서 3차원 도시공간모델 제작에 필요한 정보를 추출하고 이런 정보들을 가공하여 모텔제작에 사용가능한 정보로 바꾸어 준다. 또한 수치지도를 이용하여 3차원 모델을 제작할 때 사용자가 필요로 하는 부가정보들을 수동으로 입력할 수 있도록 한다. 수치지도에서 얻는 정보에 공간제작함수를 적용해서 3차원 모텔을 제작한다. 수치지도가 2차원지도로만 활용되고 있는 현실이며 수치지도의 다양한 3차원 정보를 이용한 3차원 도시 공간모델 자동제작을 제안함으로써 재래식 모델제작에 필요했던 대량의 시간과 노동력을 절감할 것이고 또한 제작된 도시공간모텔은 건축이나 도시설계분야에서 보다 경제적이고 보다 쉽게 활용될 수 있을 것이라고 기대된다.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of advertizing maps which were presented in one of the major daily newspapers(JoongAng Ilbo) from 1966 to 2000. The use of advertizing maps has been gradually increased year by year. Advertizing maps have appeared much frequently in spring and fall seasons, in October, and on Saturday and Wednesday. The predominance of such seasons, month, days is related to the real estate advertizement. The important categories which have been presented frequently are real estate for sale(62%), clothing sale(7%) and the image advertizement of big corporations(3%). Locator maps are preferred in the first two categories and background maps are usually used in the corporation advertizement. The symbols in the maps are different according to the custom, interest and the preference of map-producers and clients. The basic symbols for the good map, which are required in the general cartography, are scarcely shown in the advertizing maps. That is because the goal of advertizement is to appeal visually to consumers, therefore, the creativity of map-producer and the attraction of maps to draw the reader's interest are much required in the advertizing maps. It is concluded that the advertizing maps have their own values in themselves and we have to treat the journalistic cartography as a special field in cartography.

  • An integration between construction CAD data and GIS data needs geo-referencing processes of construction CAD data whose coordinate systems are their own native or even unknown. Generally, these processes are based on manually detected conjugate-vertices. In this study, we proposed an semi-automated conjugate -vertices detection method for building features between construction CAD data and a digital map using a vertex attributed string matching algorithm. A geo-referencing function for construction CAD data based on the similarity transform could be derived with those conjugate-vertices. Using our proposed method, we overlaid geo-referenced CAD data to a digital map of the College of Engineering, Seoul National University and evaluated our method.

  • This study is focused on development of generalization processing for 1/25,000 digital mapping using l/5,000 digital map. The generalization processing for digital map included in spatial and attribute information consists of 3 steps. The first, elimination of layer which is not included in 1/25,000 feature code. The second, classification of 8 feature codes. The third, merging of spatial and attribute information. Therefore using generalization workflow developed in this project, automatic generalization system will develope optimal in the future and also contribute product to small scale digital map and thematic map.

  • Most of traffic management systems include the map-based traffic information services using World Wide Web. Geographic Information System is an efficient tool to build a map-based system. However, many traffic information service systems have own independent maps for graphic/animation softwares such as Adobe Flash. These systems make it difficult to manage modifications of maps. In this paper, we suggest a new GIS-based traffic information service system without these problems. The proposed system makes the efficient use of GIS map data for traffic information service because a map display engine is separated from map data that is transferred after real-time conversion.

  • A knowledge map should be able to support the referential navigation of knowledge inquiries, i.e., cross- and sequential searches and queries on content relevance-based associated knowledge. This study performs a user-oriented test to verify which type of knowledge map, hierarchical or networked, exhibits superior performance in supporting knowledge inquiries required for problem solving. Both the effectiveness identified by the correct answer rate and the efficiency identified by the number of completion time and reference documents have been revealed superior performance in the networked knowledge map. This study's result can underpin the basic steps to develop more user-friendly and reasonable knowledge services.

  • The method regarding obtaining various kinds of attribute data of spatial information, including that of digital map, is normally restricted to Geographic survey that deals with in-field surveys. Geographic surveying for drawing digital map, however, require much effort due to the fact that a surveyor has to characterize geographic features individually in the field. Not only does the Geographic survey cover large area, but also its need for manual drawing and surveying using Draft map makes it more expensive and time-consuming. Though some recent Geographic surveys take advantage of MMS(Mobile Mapping System) to collect computerized information, there are inevitable limits in creating digital map with such data. This research will analyze the problems in current Geographic surveys and suggest adequate methods and standards for Geographic surveys by researching the methods of domestic/international service organizations that deal with establishing spatial information. This study therefore will aim to enhance the efficiency of creating digital map and Geographic survey, which would ultimately maximize the applicability of pan-national digital map by improving reliability of digital map and upgrading the utilizability of Geographic survey data.

Update/Revision of Digital Map by Using the Drawing of Work Completion Surveying (준공측량도면을 이용한 수치지도 수정/갱신)

  • There is a recent emphasis on the need for updating and revision of existing digital maps as more digital maps are used and produced. Various type of data sources, such as photographs, ground surveyed data and satellite images, are used in the revision and the updating process. The process is very time consuming and costly, especially for small regional areas. This study, attempts to present an effective update/revision method using the as-built surveying drawings and the accuracy of the digital map which has been updated and revised using this method was also investigated. This study showed that by using as-built surveying drawings of scale 1/1,200 to update a digital map of scale 1/1,000, the resulting accuracy satisfied the requirements of the national digital map accuracy specification for the corresponding scale. The necessity of the existence of the necessary drawings and maps is a requirement of this process and it is also suggested that densification of local control points especially in the urban areas is necessary for producing accurate as-built surveying drawings. This would require the establishment of rules and regulations which would require constructions to perform as-built surveying, immediately after the construction has been completed.

  • 본 연구는 지도제작시 지도의 특성을 쉽게 인식하고, 자동화율을 향상시키기 위한 지형도 도식을 고안하였다. 지도 도식은 단순 명료하며, 기존의 지형도와 최대한 유사한 형태의 지도가 출력될 수 있도록 하는 원칙을 가지고 1/5,000 수치지도 Ver 2.0을 이용하여 수행하였다. 이를 위해 지도제작에 필요한 정보를 수치지도 Ver 2.0에서 획득하고, 기존 지형도 도식규정에서 표현하는 정보와 비교 분석하여 실무자들과 많은 협의과정을 거친 후, 지도 제작 자동화에 유리하면서 지도의 미적품질을 유지할 수 있는 도식을 고안하였다. 또한 지도제작 자동화 시스템에 의한 1/5,000수치지도 Ver 2.0의 시범제작을 통하여 새로운 도식을 적용한 결과 약 7%의 자동화율 보였으며, 이러한 결과로서 지도제작자동화율이 향상되었음을 알 수 있고, 사용자들이 지도의 특성을 쉽게 인식할 수 있도록 하였으며, 최신의 정보를 보다 손쉽게 얻을 수 있도록 하였다.

Updating Building Layer of Digital Map Using Airborne Digital Camera Image (디지털항공영상을 이용한 수치지도의 건물레이어 갱신)

  • As the availability of images from airborne digital camera with high resolution is expanded, a lot of concern are shown about the production of orthoimage and digital map. This study presents the method of updating digital map using orthoimage from airborne digital camera image. Images were georectified using GPS surveying data. For the generation of orthoimage, Lidar DEM was used. The absolute positional accuracy of orthoimage was evaluated using GPS surveying data. And that of the building layer of digital map was estimated using the existed digital map at the scale of 1:1,000. The absolute positional accuracy of orthoimage was as followed: RMSE in X and Y were ${\pm}0.076m$ and ${\pm}0.294m$. The RMSE of the building layer were ${\pm}0.250m$ and ${\pm}0.210m$ in X and Y directions, respectively. The RMSE of the digital map using orthoimage from Aerial Digital Camera image fell within allowable error range established by NGII. Consequently, updating digital map using orthoimage from Aerial Digital Camera image can be applied to various fields including the construction of the framework data and the GIS of local government.
