A User-Centered Evaluation of Naver and Korea AltaVista (이용자 중심의 국내 탐색엔진의 평가에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 이용자의 정보요구를 최대한 충족시키고 보다 사용하기 편한 이용자 지향의 탐색엔진을 개발하기 위해서 이용자 관점에서 국내 탐색엔진 한글알타비스타와 네이버를 평가하고자 한다. 이용자 중심의 탐색엔진 평가를 위해, 본 연구는 이용자가 자신의 검색질의로 탐색엔진을 통해 직접 검색을 하게 한 후 검색결과에 대해 이용자 스스로 평가하도록 한다. 평가기준은 수와 첸의 탐색엔진의 평가기준을 바탕으로 하여 탐색시간 및 노력, 탐색결과의 정확율, 연결성, 중복률, 유용성, 이용자의 만족도로 한글알타비스타와 네이버의 검색효율성 출 비교·평가하고자 한다.

Digital Library Evaluation Criteria: What do Users Want? (디지털 도서관 평가기준: 이용자들이 원하는 것은 무엇인가?)

  • Criteria for evaluating digital libraries have been suggested in prior studies, but limited research has been done to understand users' perceptions of evaluation criteria. This study investigates users' opinions of the importance of digital library evaluation criteria. Thirty user participants, including 10 faculty members and 20 students, were recruited from five universities across the United States. They were asked to rate the importance of evaluation criteria in eight dimensions (e.g. collections, information organization, context, etc.). The results demonstrate that users care about evaluation criteria related to the use and quality of collection and services rather than the operation of digital libraries. The findings of this study are relevant to the development of user-centered digital libraries and associated evaluation frameworks through the incorporation of unique users' needs and preferences.

Service Evaluation Models from Transit Users' Perspectives (대중교통 이용자 관점의 서비스 평가 모형 개발)

  • The evaluation of public transit service quality is more complicated than evaluating other aspects of transportation service. Although various measures of effectiveness [MOEs] for transit service have been studied and applied, a more comprehensive and accurate MOE is still required. In the past, either data from user surveys or the experience of bus agency administrators and/or engineers used to measure the quality of service. However, recently, with reliable and accurate real time data from BMS(Bus Management System) and BIS(Bus Information System), more reliable and accurate MOEs are available. This study develops a service evaluation model from users' perspectives, which is based on user' cost models that consider passenger access time, riding time, waiting time, and discomfort due to in-vehicle overcrowding, violation of traffic laws, and accident rate. For validating proposed model, data from the BMS and transit-fare cards (T-Money Card) for Seoul's No. 472 main bus line were used. Models developed in this study provided reliable results.

  • With the perspective of information management, on-going monitoring of the specified service function is one of the major activities and even critical process. The research consisted of three empirical research questions such as, the current usage and overall user-satisfaction, the quality of the R&D information content and the service, and the problems which have been observed by the actual user group of National Digital Science Library (NDSL). The results of the investigation provided several guidelines that can be utilized for the improvements of the R&D information user service as well as some recommendations for overall optimal administration.

A Study of e-Service Quality and User Satisfaction in Public Libraries (공공도서관의 e-서비스 품질평가와 이용자 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to identify key dimensions of e-service quality and explore their relations to user satisfaction at Public libraries. This research used a modified e-service quality model and surveyed Internet service users for measuring and assessing Internet users' service satisfaction at 'A' public library in Seoul region. Using an exploratory factor analysis. the study identified three factors, named Service Affect, Information Access, and Tangibles as key dimensions for public library e-service quality. Also it was found that users' satisfaction was strongly positively correlated to their intention to refer others to the service.

  • Recently. Web-based library instruction is incomplete in domestic situation. The purpose of this study is to present the design criteria of web-based library instruction programs. This study draws elements of synthetic criteria that are analyzed by evaluation criteria of web site and web-based library instruction, and compares and analyzes web-based library instruction programs.

  • As users constitute one of the three components of a transportation system; and in many respects the most important component, user perception is a critical element within the concept of transportation services as transportation exists to provide high quality service to various user groups. However, this user perception has not been studied because it is difficult to be analyzed. The purpose of this study is to introduce the importance and alternative method to consider transportation user perception for various transportation engineering areas such as service quality and safety level of transportation system. For this purpose, various studies related to transportation user perception were reviewed. In addition, experiment results were analyzed to investigate the characteristics of transportation user perception.

  • 최근 보급되고 있는 스크린 야구장을 많은 이용자가 단순한 타격만을 하고 피드백이 없이 일회성으로 이용하고 있고 이용자의 타격 자세를 평가해주는 기능을 제공하지 않고 있다. 부정확한 자세로 타격을 하게 되면 부상의 위험도 있고, 타격 실력도 향상될 수 없다. 따라서 이용자가 올바른 타격자세를 취할 수 있도록 자세를 평가 해주는 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 구글의 미디어 파이프와 딥러닝 기술을 활용하여 타격 자세 영상을 인식하여 타격 자세를 평가해주는 시스템을 개발하였다. 제안한 시스템은 사전에 다양한 영상을 LSTM 알고리즘으로 학습하여 이용자의 타격자세를 4개 등급으로 평가해준다. 이를 활용하여 스크린 야구장에서 카메라만 설치하여 간단하게 사용 가능하며 이용자들이 타격 자세를 자체 평가할 수 있다.

Designing and Evaluating Websites from both Users' and Designers' Perspectives (웹 디자인의 요소 평가: 이용자 관점과 디자이너 관점의 비교 연구)

  • Diverse disciplines such as information science, computer science, cognitive science, and industrial design, are activity engaged in the website evaluation research efforts. Information scientists emphasize the importance of user-centered and user-friendly website design, which is also easy to use, This idea is based on the understanding that the users and the designers are different set of people. In addition, information scientists consider the practice of maximally incorporating user inputs during the website design to be very important guideline. However, this study is based on a newly emerging population of website users who are also designers. 218 study participants evaluated the websites that they designed in comparison to the websites designed by others. According to the survey data analysis, the study participants considered the content delivery, design simplicity, design consistency, and link access of the websites to be equally important from both users' and designers' perspectives. However, the content organization, rich content, and screen composition were underestimated from the designers' point of view whereas these factors were considered to be important from users' point of view.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 객관적으로 측정가능한 이용자 중심의 정보검색시스템의 인터페이스 평가항목과 세부평가지표를 도출하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여, 정보검색시스템의 이용자 요구사항과 인터페이스 요소를 분석하여 상관관계를 밝히고, 인터페이스 평가영역에 포함되는 인터페이스 요소와 이용자 요구사항을 파악한다. 국내외 인터페이스 평가모델을 종합하여 인터페이스 평가영역 및 지표를 도출하고 전문가 집단의 설문조사를 통해 타당성과 신뢰성을 검증한 인터페이스 평가지표를 정립하고자 한다.
