본 고에서는 공학분야 중에서도 그 응용범위가 가장 광범위하다고 할 수 있는 기계공학분야의 이용자에게 수준 높은 웹 정보자원을 효율적으로 제공하기 위하여 검색엔진을 통하여 자동 수집된 웹 정보자원을 기계공학분야 주제전문가의 평가를 통해 핵심정보를 선정하고 이를 더블린코어 메타데이터를 응용한 베타데이터 요소에 따라 조직하여 웹 상의 검색 인터페이스에 의해 이용될 수 있도록 주제 게이트웨이 시스템을 설계하였다. 정보자원의 검색방법으로는 키워드 검색과 주제분류체계에 따른 브라우징 검색 등 두 가지 방법을 이용하였다.

Recently, semantic search techniques which are based on information space as consisting of nonambiguous, non-redundant, formal pieces of ontological knowledge have been developed so that users do exploit large knowledge bases. The purpose of the study is to design more user-friendly and smarter retrieval interface based on ontological analysis, which can provide more precise information by reducing semantic ambiguity or more rich linked information based on well-defined relationships. Therefore, this study, first of all, focuses on ontological analysis on researcher information as selecting descriptive elements, defining classes and properties of descriptive elements, and identifying relationships between the properties and their restriction between relationships. Next, the study designs the prototypical retrieval interface based on ontology-based representation, which supports to semantic searching and browsing regarding researchers as a full-fledged domain. On the proposed retrieval interface, users can search various facts for researcher information such as research outputs or the personal information, or carrier history and browse the social connection of the researchers such as researcher group that is lecturing or researching on the same subject or involving in the same intellectual communication.

This study explored Korean college students' smartphone game behavior for the pastime. Smartphone games have weakness that is not appropriate for playing the game because of small screen and non-sophisticated interface for operation. To defeat the disadvantage, the games employed minimalism like conciseness or simplicity. The study explored how conciseness influences perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, flow, and intent to use the game through PLS path modeling. We found that every hypothesis except a path, perceived ease of use to flow, proved significant. This result means that smartphone game design should consider the interface of users' convenience and user experience practically. Finally, based on the findings, suggestions for future studies were discussed.

The research on the archiving performing arts has recently been conducted on various aspects in Korea, but there has been no research or attempts to build a digital archive that can systematically identify the information on classical music performances in one place and get the past performance information. In this study, we proposed a participatory archive portal for providing, preserving and servicing information on all classical music performances, and tried to design the functions based on the requirements of the performance archive portal identified in previous research. We identified and proposed functional requirements of the portal, reorganized the characteristics of classical music performance information, and designed metadata elements. Then we presented the design and implementation direction of search and facet navigation, as well as user participation and communication functions. Lastly, we developed a prototype that implemented the requirements of the interface.

본 논문은 정보화 시대에 있어서 요구되는 정보의 내용이 다양해지고 각 전문 분야별 정보의 내용이 많아짐에 따라 이용자들에게 필요한 정보를 더욱 편리하고 간단한 방법으로 제공할 수 있도록 하기 위한 정보 통신 분야의 한글 정보 검색시스템 (ETLARS)의 설계 및 구현에 관한 내용을 서술하고자 한다. 특히 구현된 본 시스템은 현재 국내의 정보검색 분야에 있어서 아직까지는 이렇다할 시스템이 없는 시점에서 전자 통신 분야의 전문 정보를 수록한 한글 데이타베이스를 구축하여 통신 유관 기관을 포함한 전국의 불특정 다수에게 하이텔 및 인터넷 서비스를하고 있는 중이며, 이러한 전문정보외에도 이미지, 음성 등 멀티미디어 정보의 추가 및 유저 인터페이스의 향상 등 계속적인 시스템 보완을 통해서 이용자들의 요구조건을 충족시켜 줄 수 있는 시스템으로 발전해 나갈 계획이다.

This research suggests the method of standardizing terms for raising the effectiveness of information retrieval. Especially for web search, I propose the proper terms which they will use in retrieval by surveying and analysing the related terms about information retrieval interface. The proper terms will solve the equivocation for user increase the effectiveness. And I think the proposed terms will be used to standard data for designers who are construct the user interface systems.

본 연구의 목적은 4개의 인터넷 특허정보 데이터베이스의 탐색기능을 비교분석 함으로서 각 데이터베이스의 활용도를 제시하고 더 나아가 인터넷 상의 특허정보 데이터베이스의 이용자 우호적인 인터페이스 설계를 위한 기초 자료로 사용하려고 한다. 연구방법으로는 비교적 인지도가 높은 국내의 Patrom과 국외의 USPTO, QPAT-US, IBM을 선택하여 데이터베이스의 수록항목, 주요항목, 검색방법, 멀티미디어 검색기능, 웹으로 지원 가능한 정보자원의 형태를 중심으로 비교 분석한다.

본 연구에서 구축된 멀티미디어 도서관 정보시스템은 대학도서관을 기본 모형으로 하여 설계하였다. 이 시스템은 7 개의 모듈 즉 참고문헌제공 전문가시스템, 학술지 브라우징, 멀티미디어 데이타베이스, 텍스트 데이타베이스(온라인 열람목록, OPAC), 외부데이타베이스(온라인/CD-ROM/인터넷 데이터베이스), 도서관 이용안내, 시스템이용법으로 구성된다. 시스템의 구현 환경은 IBM 컴퓨터 466DX2/Dp을 사용하고 시스템 개발도구로는 하이퍼텍스트 기능이 첨가된 멀티미디어 저작 도구인 멀티미디어 툴북을 이용하고 이용자 인터페이스는 메뉴방식을 채택하였다.

A webzine issued by a public institution not only plays a role in communication between members of the institution and its users, but is itself a meaningful record. In addition, as one of the management techniques of the archives, there is a growing awareness that active marketing is needed to promote the service and allow potential users to visit the archives. Therefore, efforts should be made to increase user satisfaction by identifying user needs, composing content reflecting them, and selecting user-centered interfaces appropriately. The purpose of this study is to design 'On-Gi', a newsletter of the Presidential Archives, as a user-participating smart platform in a smart device environment. As a research method, we first looked at the current status of webzine publication by relevant domestic institutions. Next, we compared and analyzed the issue of 'On-Gi' provided by the Presidential Archives and major contents. Based on this, a design model of the webzine for the marketing of the Presidential Archives was proposed. This can be used as a key marketing strategy for the Presidential Archives in the new user environment of technological innovation of smart devices.

A prototype model of intelligent information retrieval system is presented with the definition of intelligent information retrieval. An intelligent information retrieval system for Korean documents was designed, and the system was implemented with Turbo Prolog 2.0 and Turbo Pascal 5.5. The characteristics of the system include natural language interface, user modeling, automatic indexing by case relationship, and multiple retrieval techniques.
