Optimization of Process Parameters of Incremental Sheet Forming of Al3004 Sheet Using Genetic Algorithm-BP Neural Network (유전 알고리즘-BP신경망을 이용한 Al3004 판재 점진성형 공정변수에 대한 최적화 연구)

  • Incremental Sheet Forming (ISF) is a unique sheet-forming technique. The process is a die-less sheet metal manufacturing process for rapid prototyping and small batch production. In the forming process, the critical parameters affecting the formability of sheet materials are the tool diameter, step depth, feed rate, spindle speed, etc. This study examined the effects of these parameters on the formability in the forming of the varying wall angle conical frustum model for a pure Al3004 sheet with 1mm in thickness. Using Minitab software based on Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) and Genetic Algorithm (GA), a second order mathematical prediction model was established to predict and optimize the wall angle. The results showed that the maximum forming angle was 87.071° and the best combination of these parameters to give the best performance of the experiment is as follows: tool diameter of 6mm, spindle speed of 180rpm, step depth of 0.4mm, and feed rate of 772mm/min.

  • High speed machining for higher cutting speed and feedrate lead to a increase of surface quality and material removal rate. This paper presents a study of the influence of cutting conditions on the vibration characteristics obtained by machining with face milling cutter for high speed machining. In this paper, Taguchi experimental design method which is based on orthogonal array table was applied to study vibration characteristics with high speed face milling cutter. The experimental conditions used orthogonal array of $L_{27}(3^{13})$. In this work, design and analysis of experiments is conducted to study the effects of these parameters on the vibration by using the S/N ratio, analysis of variance. Four cutting parameters namely, feed rate, champer length, cutting speed, and depth of cut were optimized with consideration of vibration characteristics.

Process Optimization of ITO Film on PC Substrate Deposited by In-line Sputtering Method for a Resistive-type Touch Panel (인라인 스퍼터링에 의한 저항막 방식 터치패널용 ITO 기판 제조공정 최적화 기술)

  • Indium tin oxide(ITO) substrate is one of the key components of the touch panel and its sputtering process is dependent on the characteristics of various touch panel, such as driving type, size of panel, and the intended use. In this study, we optimized the sputtering condition of ITO film on polycarbonate(PC) by using in-line sputtering method for the application to resistive type touch panel. We varied the $O_2$/Ar gas ratio, sputtering power, pressure and moving speed of substrate to deposit ITO films at room temperature with the base vacuum of $1{\times}10^{-6}\;torr$. The sheet resistance and its uniformity, the transmittance, the thickness of the ITO film on PC substrate are investigated and analyzed. The optimized process parameters are as follows : the sheet resistance is $500{\pm}50\;{\Omega}$/□, the uniformity of sheet resistance is lower than 10%, the transmittance is higher than 87 % at 550nm, and the thickness is about 120~250. The optimized deposition conditions by in-line sputtering method can be applied to the actual mass production for the ITO film manufacturing technology.

A Strategy of a Gap Block Design in the CFRP Double Roller to Minimize Defects during the Product Conveyance (제품 이송 시 결함 최소화를 위한 CFRP 이중 롤러의 Gap block 설계 전략)

  • Due to the structural characteristic of a double roller, the double roller can have various deformation behaviors depending on a gap block design, even if dimensions and loading conditions for the double roller are the same. Based on this feature, we propose a strategy for designing the gap block of the carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) double roller to minimize defects (e.g., sagging and wrinkling), which can be raised during the product conveying process, with the pursue of the lightweight design. In the suggested strategy, analysis cases are first selected by considering main design parameters and engineering tolerances of the gap block, and then deformation behaviors of these selected cases are extracted using the finite element method (FEM). Here, to obtain the optimal gap block parameters that satisfy the purpose of this study, deformation deviations in the contact area are calculated and compared using the extracted deformation behaviors. Note that the contact area in this work is located between the product and the roller. As a result, through the design method of the gap block proposed in this work, it is possible to construct the CFRP double roller that can significantly decrease the defects without changing the overall sizes of the roller. A detailed method is suggested herein, and the results are evaluated in a numerical way.

Ab Initio Studies on Proton Affinities of Substituted Oxazoles (치환 옥사졸의 양성자 친화도에 대한 ab initio 연구)

  • The geometry optimization of oxazole, relevant to the binding of lexitropsin that contains this ring to the base pair (G-C sequence) of minor groove of DNA, is performed with the aid of MM+ and ab initio (Hartree-Fock) calculations. The proton affinity and electronic structure are calculated at the 6-31G and $6-31G^{\ast}$ level for the optimized geometry. The proton affinities are also studied for various substituted oxazoles with the electron-donating and -withdrawing groups to estimate the substituent effect on the proton affinities of oxazoles. It is shown that the electron-donating substituents increase the proton affinity of oxazole, while the electron-withdrawing substituents decrease it. This result can be explained with atomic charge and electron density at oxygen of substituted oxazoles.

Routing of ALVs under Uncertainty in Automated Container Terminals (컨테이너 터미널의 불확실한 환경 하에서의 ALV 주행 계획 수립방안)

  • An automated lifting vehicle(ALV) used in an automated container terminal is a type of unmanned vehicle that can self-lift a container as well as self-transport it to a destination. To operate a fleet of ALVs efficiently, one needs to be able to determine a minimum-time route to a given destination whenever an ALV is to start its transport job. To find a route free from any collision or deadlock, the occupation time of the ALV on each segment of the route should be carefully scheduled to avoid any such hazard. However, it is not easy because not only the travel times of ALVs are uncertain due to traffic condition but also the operation times of cranes en route are not predicted precisely. In this paper, we propose a routing method based on an ant colony optimization algorithm that takes into account these uncertainties. The result of simulation experiment shows that the proposed method can effectively find good routes under uncertainty.

A Study on Automatic Selection of Optimal Cutting Condition on Machining in View of Economics (經濟性을 고려한 機械加工의 最適 切削條件의 自動 選定에 관한 硏究)

  • In recent years, machining turns to flexible manufacturing. Industry in machining requires to increase machining productivity and to reduce costs. To adapt this trend it is necessary to optimize machining condition. Even though many researches in this are introduced various way to set the optimal condition, still there are not enough. Therefore this research was done to select the optimal cutting condition for industry, and to develope the computer program to select the optimal cutting condition automatically. Also, this program was applied to many companies, and compare costs per minute. The results of this research will contribute to increase machining productivity of various companies with the automatic selection of optimal cutting condition.

  • 본 연구는 항만에 설치된 방사선감시기의 검색기능 극대화를 위하여 방사선감시기의 검색환경을 분석하고 물류흐름 관점에서 운영환경 개선방안 도출을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구 목적 달성을 위해 원자력안전위원회에서 제시한 방사선 위험화물의 수입 물동량 분석을 수행하여 방사선감시기 설치 타당성을 확보하였다. 문헌조사와 현장 전문가 인터뷰를 통해 항만의 방사선감시기 설치환경 및 운영에 따른 물류 장애요인을 분석하였다. 또한, 항만 내 방사선감시기 설치가 가능한 위치를 3단계(본선하역작업, 야드 이송 및 적재 작업, 게이트 반출)로 구분하여 각 위치별 장 단점을 분석하고 최적의 감시기 설치 위치를 도출하였다. 연구결과, 감시기 설치 위치 단계별 비용, 물류흐름, 관리 운영적 측면을 고려하였을 때, 게이트 반출 단계가 방사선 감시기 설치를 위한 최적위치로 적합한 것으로 확인하였다. 방사선감시기의 운영최적화 방안으로는 첫째, 반출 게이트 내부의 2차 검색부지 확보를 통해 게이트 통과 전 방사선감시기를 통한 화물 검색이 이루어질 수 있도록 해야 한다. 둘째, 화물인도지시서(Delivery Order: D/O)를 활용한 신속한 화물정보 파악을 통해 물류흐름의 방해요인을 제거 할 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

IHA를 이용한 댐직하류 하천의 수문변화 특성 분석

  • 댐은 사회경제적으로 다양한 편익을 제공하고 있지만, 댐을 철거하자는 많은 NGO와 다른 환경단체들이 주장하는 생태비용의 이유로 최근에 재평가를 시행하고 있다. 댐 건설로 인한 유사의 차단과 첨두 홍수량의 감소는 하천의 장갑화와 유사의 하구이송을 감소시켜 댐 직하류 하천에 영향을 미치고 있다. 이러한 직 간접적인 영향들은 하도 내에 물리적 서식처 형상, 생태학적 연관성, 이로 인해 하천지형학에서의 변화를 초래하게 된다. 댐 운영이 하류의 하도 및 생태계에 미치는 영향 정도를 정량화하는데 있어 기존의 단순한 유황 분석을 통한 갈수량, 저수량, 평수량, 풍수량은 댐으로 인한 하류 하천의 영향을 정량적으로 분석하는 데는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다양한 수문변화를 정량적으로 계산할 수 있는 IHA(Indicators of Hydrologic Alteration) 모형을 이용하여 합천댐 직하류 하천의 수문변화 특성을 분석하였다. 댐의 유입량과 방류량을 비교한 결과, 대체적으로 홍수기(6월$\sim$9월)에는 댐에 의한 유량 조절효과로 첨두량이 감소하였으며, 그 이외의 월 평균유량은 증가하여 유황이 개선되는 경향을 나타났으며, 수문변화율은 댐의 방류량이 유입량보다 작게 나타났다. 본 연구에서 산정된 수문특성 변화 지표는 댐 유역의 치수, 이수, 환경생태적인 변화를 종합적으로 이해하고 적응하는데 있어, 댐 운영을 최적화하거난 효과적으로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Study on Optimization for Heating System of Sequential Feed-Type Mobile Smart Device Cover Glass Molding Machine (모바일 스마트 기기 덮개 유리 순차이송형 성형기기의 가열시스템 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • Nowadays, flat-shaped cover glass is widely used for mobile devices. However, for its good design and convenience of use, curved cover glass has been demanded. Thus, many companies have tried to produce curved cover glass through the shaving technique, but the production efficiency is very low. Therefore, the molding technique has been adopted to increase the efficiency for the curved-glass production system. For a glass-molding system, several heating blocks are installed, and the flat cover glass is sequentially heated and molded. The production time for the cover glass is very different depending on the heating conditions; thus, the prediction of the production time for different heating conditions should be needed. Therefore, in this study, the computations were performed with different heating conditions (uniform and non-uniform) in the present cover glass-molding machine. For uniform and non-uniform heating conditions, the simple correlation between the heating time and the heater capacity and the heating time to achieve higher durability can be suggested, respectively.
